The Washington Post has this weekend gathered a basket of published European garbage on Trump. This has been their initial follow up to the bedtime stories authored by one M Woolf, a second-rate writer of fiction. Woolf has a reputation as a fabricator (he admits to conflating his views with those he attributes to others) and writer of second rate fiction. The statements Woolf attributes to persons of note (Tony Blair, for example … not forgetting his claimed interviews with Trump) have been categorically denied by them,

Having failed with a 20-16 – 2017 Russian conspiracy narrative, and then the obstruction (yes, I know that BS is continuing) narrative, an economic and stock market collapse, nay demolition narrative, and a long-distance psycho narrative, the MSM and some others have now seized upon Woolf’s garbage as a new “truth”. Why garbage? Because within three or four days Woolf’s claims have been proven to be false, and attributed to his imagination.

As other have noted, this is a classic repeat of the Reagan and Dubya Bush narratives pushed by the “superior” East and West coast “intelligentsia”.

It is amazing how a simple typo/finger glitch (cafefe?) can be twisted by some MSM people to assail Trump but were the stumble fingers his or those of his social media director? Of course, in a NZ context, it could be asked:

Will the same standard be applied to our politicians?
Is Ardern (still) sane?
Is Peters (still) sane?
Is there a black hole in Robertson’s “budget” figures?
Is the Peters-Arden Regime a legitimate Government?

Those, names transposed, are the sort of questions posed and answered by the establishment US media in respect of the Trump administration.
.
Fairfax seems to have an editorial stance, both in NZ and Australia, that is noteworthy for its anti Trump bias. Of course, that is presented in many ways….. like the use of equally pejorative European MSM opinion.

The problem (for their narrative) is that all the ranting and raving by the MSM will not change the fact that the world relies on a vibrant US economy (about 25% of the total World economy) for growth and for the last three quarters it has exceeded anything that Obama’s Harvard mob achieved in eight years.
A 4% growth rate, unemployment now consistently at 4.1 %, massive deregulation, rubbishing of back breaking CE (climate evolution) garbage, and more than 60 increases in the Dow to a record 25000+ in the past year. That is what Trump promised and has delivered.

Ergo, New Zealand (Ardern, Peter and Poofie) needs to note that there is no failed capitalist economic system. There is, in fact, a need for less Government regulation, taxation, transfer payments and intervention ….. and more economic freedom.

It is time for the media children to bin their pencils and face the world as it is – not as they would wish it to be. And those same folks might come to the realisation that Trump is a properly elected leader. In NZ we have one apparent leader ordained by Peters. Germany (read NZ) is having another election because Merkel (read English) could not get the total support he needed. The voters did not vote for Ardern. They did not vote for a Peters Government. They did not vote for political vaudeville as inflicted by Peters. Not by a long, long way. Denial of that destroys MSM credibility. It is no use crying “voted for change”. The fact is that substantially more voted for English et al than for Ardern,

But back to Trump. He won fair and square under a long established Presidential election formula. Trying to re-write the system and the result post November 8, 2016 is just silly.

The flood of published rubbish about Trump has gone well beyond being silly. It is a clear example of their collective mental illness – not that of Trump!

    Nobody is denying the concept of climate change stephie. I think the debate is about the effect of human impact on climate which is up for debate.
    
    Last year Saudi Arabia sat at 50C+ for quite some time. It does that. When I lived in Sydney the summer temperature regularly hit 40C+. When I was leaving to go offshore with the Airforce (early 69) I think the temperature was 40C in Canterbury.
    
    Cycles and patterns. The tar always ran into the gutters, the road metal always clattered against the wheel guards. The summers were bloody hot, hotter than they have been for years. It snowed a hell of a lot more back then too.
    
    The winter of 1978 in the US was a doozy. It wasn’t as concentrated as this one (Eastern seaboard) it was everywhere. I was there for a few months and the old timers kept talking about it being like the snow that fell during the war.
    
    Stats don’t tell the whole story. Much is lost from memory.

        However, the NSW BOM tweeted just after 4:00pm that they had missed a temperature in the north-western Sydney suburb of Richmond, at a now closed recording station.
        
        The 1939 high was 47.8C.

The Guardian UK mentions two literary disputes that may be of interest to compare outcomes as they develop.

1 – French publisher Gallimard says it will publish 1930s pamphlets by Louis-Ferdinand Céline, who called for extermination of Jews

2 – The French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, which sparked controversy and legal complaints after publishing cartoons of Muhammad, will this week release a special edition illustrated biography of the Muslim prophet.

Well, it may be of mild interest to see how each project fairs.
That is if either is accurately reported without too much bias.
Like: how can the Guardian run an article of reasonable length on Charlie Hebdo, mention the 2011 fire-bombing of the magazine’s offices but omit the 2015 shooting massacre?

    Yes, on the 1st of January the law censored two AfD representatives on its very first day: Twitter censored Alice Weidel and Beatrix von Storch for saying the wrong thing. Currently only ‘withheld in Germany’, so have a look at what they actually said (criticism of so called ‘refugees’) and decide whether that should simply be censored without even being tested in court.
    
    Alice Weidel, btw. is an economics and business expert and a lesbian. The AfD is falsely called ‘far right’ by the MSM.
    
    It would be fun if they played the victim card as women and a lesbian – hit the Far Left where it hurts. But I think those ladies are above that.
    
    Watch out people, this is the kind of law the Far Left love. NZ is not safe from it.

I wonder who Jacinda left the responsible of the control of our country with over the last week with Winston in the Islands for Shane Jones wedding. The poor people in the Bay of Plenty would feel let down after their flooding and roads being partially wiped out with no Prime Minister or Deputy there to assure them that the Government will pour the resources into having them fixed as soon as the weather allows.

  Morning Happychappy, I asked a similar question yesterday regarding the flooding of the whole village of Kaiawa and damaged roading in Thames. Is Cindy going to visit? Who is in charge while our PM Select is on holiday? This is not like being in the opposition over the Christmas/NY break.       Gazza, I actually agree with Twitford on pets for some State tenants who are responsible owners in need of company, etc. They have to apply to have a suitable dog or cat as a pet.
      
      Individual applications allow HNZ to deny or remove unsuitable dogs, dangerous, aggressive or barking incessantly.
      
      My query is on cost. It is expensive to care for a pet. If they are on a low income can they afford a pet, or does WINZ allow for pets with a little extra in their benefit?

I just found it quite ironic that Twyford could rouse himself from his break to comment on what is really a minor issue whilst those responsible for handling civil emergencies can’t be bothered to even make comment about providing Governmental support if it’s required.         My evening walk takes me through a west Auckland state house suburb and I estimate that every second house has a large unregistered dog that barks and snarls as I walk pass.
        Over the holiday period I have come close to being attacked about three times due largely to a lack of supervision of these large dogs and owners leaving gates open allowing the dogs a chance to attack.
        I have addresses and will advise HNZ accordingly.

  I have been reading elsewhere that Trump’s brilliant tax plans will see billions repatriated to the USA and may possibly distort foreign currency markets. This could be good for NZ exporters, but it will make petrol move towards $2.40 or so per litre.

Being forced into State house ghetto’s and having to live on state handouts has driven Maori into a life of drugs, alcohol and violence.   She claims that victims come from all socioeconomic groups. That is true but not is an equal ratio like many types of anti-social behaviour.
  
  How many judges would bash their wives. I would say very few.

      I read a book recently about Ann Lawson, mum of the quins.
      While Ann was struggling to care for 6 young kids, her “best friend” was carrying on with her husband, and persuaded him to ditch his family.
      Ann ended up bashed and murdered by her next partner, (who came with enough bullets to kill her kids also, but Ann went outside to meet him, to protect her children.)
      Men who abandon their families don’t leave to live as bachelors doing their own cooking.
      They get enticed away by devious women with no conscience for the kids who will be left fatherless and vulnerable.
      Nia Glassie’s father abandoned his kids to their fate, for another apparently “skinnier” woman.
      Look at all the child victims of murder, and you will often see a similar story.

  You pay your rates and it goes to core things such as roads, water, rubbish and lighting.
  Then say 10% goes to other tings.
  Art, museums, libraries, projects.
  And when you pay your rates you get to vote on one of those things.
  And each year the council allocate that 10% exactly according to the votes.

I note the death of Gordon Hogg, Gordon was the ‘founder’ of computerised banking in NZ. It was through his efforts that Databank Systems was formed when the company was originally setup by the BNZ in the mid 60’s & subsequently joined by the other trading banks. At the time the processing of accounts moved to overnight with interbank settlement moving from several days to overnight.
Gordon often referred to a cashless society in the future and pushed the banks to adopting Automatic tellers. He was an entrepreneur in the banking world.

    I get money from UK deposited into my ANZ account within 24 hours.
    
    ANZ to ANZ transfers are immediate. Done in 3 seconds.
    
    ANZ to others are batched every few hours.
    
    But I do remember it being rather archaic when I first came to NZ in 1992. ANZ was batching up transactions on tape and then couriering the tapes to a central office. That was worse than what we had in Africa. I switched to ASB which was a lot faster. I switched back to ANZ in 2000.

  Gordon Hogg sounds to have been an interesting person.
  
  There was supposedly another interesting person involved with electronic transactions in NZ that someone here may be able to tell us about.
  
  My understanding that the system underlying Eftpos was developed in America, but the Australian and NZ adoption, which was quite early, was driven by the work of a Hungarian Australian electronics engineer.
  
  The legend or myth that makes this interesting is that he supposedly was an electronic adviser to the North Vietnamese (Hungary was still Communist then), and deserted to Australian troops in South Vietnam.
  
  Can anyone tell us whether there is anything to this story?

    A hungarian who can speak Vietnamese- unlikely as well.
    The north Vietnamese would have avoided electronics that could be intercepted by the US.

    It’s the same as saying “visually impaired” for blind or “hearing impaired for deaf” We all know that people so afflicted are blind or deaf so why the skirting around it. They mean the same thing and EVERYBODY knows it. The Americans are quite peculiar…they seem to have a great sensitivity to using normal words. I mean why is a lavatory called a “bathroom” in the US.       Visually impaired does not mean the same thing as blind – it’s a much broader term that include the blind but also includes people with glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration for example where some limited vision is still present. Likewise hearing impairment is broader than deafness.
      
      In the US toilets are located in bathrooms rather than in separate rooms as we do.

      “Lavatory” itself is a euphemism, just an older one. It comes from the late Latin word “lavatorium” – a place for washing. Much like “bathroom”.
      
      “Lavatory” and “bathroom” are two of many euphemisms in our language. Others include toilet, restroom, WC or water closet, the john, jakes, and shit house, which is still a good Anglo-Saxon swear word. If you abandon all euphemisms you will use the description, shit house. See how that goes down with the girlfriend’s parents.
      
      Many other North European languages use a variation of “toilet” as the polite euphemism, from German to Russian and Latvian.
      
      As for criticism of “bathroom” because it’s American: that’s where the majority of people with English as a first language now live. If there is a standard it’s going to be either American or close to it.
      
      The Anglo-Saxons who moved to England long ago lost control of what became English, and now, I suspect, something similar is happening to this great language in relation to the people of England.

Black unemployment in this country fell to 6.8% in the last quarter of last year. That is the lowest black unemployment rate since records began to be kept on that subject 45 years ago. If you haven’t heard about this anyplace else, Dave Griffey at Daffey Thoughts explains why:

It’s nothing other than an author saying trust him, he talked to people who say what the press, pundits and Trump critics insist people have said for the last year. And insisting he had access to Trump for around three hours over the course of months of campaigning (do the math).

And it’s nothing we haven’t heard before Donald Trump. Senility, moron, mentally incapable, unfit for office – I heard in in the 80s with Reagan and Dan Quayle. I heard it again in the 00s during the Bush administration. In fact, come to think of it, I notice a trend. When the Left doesn’t get the person it wants, it uses the press and other surrogates to attack and destroy the individuals who have thwarted their designs. As this book is supposed to do.

I don’t think Trump is the best type of person we could have by a long shot. Unfortunately, the best type of people we have produced have become part of the problem. A world with a growing elitist class that cares for itself, and nothing else. If Trump doesn’t care either, he’s at least shaking things up and, so far, doing things that could help that growing demographic of non-elites that had so woefully fallen behind over the last few decades.”

  Both of the following scenarios will cause this “unemployment rate” to fall: a) more registered people gain employment and subsequently drop off from the register; or b) people give up looking for work and thus drop off from the register.

    I met Jim at the Trades Union Centre in Newton back in the early seventies.
    It was a free ranging chat about the politics of inclusion, i.e. women, minorities and of course workers.
    Jim was quite forth right in his dialogue and a little intimidating for those present. His credentials within Labour were beyond reproach consequently most were shrinking violets in his presence. I came away from the meeting thinking he would be a hard cookie to crack and difficult to negotiate with, which in later years proved an accurate summation of him.

Everybody here needs to listen to this video. This is the result of section 16C in Ontario. A student is brought before an SJW inquisition in the University of Toronto and told if she doesn’t stop stating medical facts at odds with transgender and queer theory she will face severe consequences. She also needs to undertake a process of re-education.

It’s a violation of section 16C ‘human rights’ legislation in Ontario to state medical facts – subject to large fines, loss of ‘reinstatement’ of job roles, and as Jordan Peterson says, jail upon failure to acquiesce to earlier penalties because those facts are at odds with Transgender and Queer theory.

When the inquisitor refers to ‘white supremacist’ campaigns, he’s referring to pieces of paper which say ‘it’s okay to be white’ which were plastered around the University by evil Canadians. Because saying ‘it’s okay’ in Canada, most of Australia – Canberra, Victoria, large chunks of New South Wales, Tasmania, and actually a fair chunk of New Zealand, is supremacist.

Here is the NZ Labour government’s ‘SAFE schools’ program:

Real action so we have safe schools for our young people

No young person should be subject to verbal and physical abuse, and made to feel inferior, especially in schools. Labour will take action to eradicate discrimination, violence and bullying, and to combat suicide and self-harm.

Labour will ensure that schools are fully supported in dealing with behavioural issues by increasing the number of social workers available to all levels of the education sector, ensuring all schools have an effective anti-bullying programme and providing external multi-agency support for schools in cases of criminal activity, such as assault
Labour will review the funding system for guidance counsellors in schools, including investigating the possibility of ring-fencing that funding so that it can only be used to fund guidance counsellors, and consider how additional counselling services can be offered to primary and intermediate school students
Labour will support schools to develop comprehensive policies and actions to deal with bullying on the grounds of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and intersex status, implement the Ministry of Education’s Sexuality Education Guidelines and ensure intensive intervention and adequate levels of support for Rainbow youth in the compulsory education system.

What hopefully can be seen from the Canadian experience, and in Australia, is that the ‘counsellors’ end up becoming indoctrination enforcers, and extra-parental facilitators of queer and transgender theory nonsense. All of the language around ‘bullying’ is a ruse to validate the kind of practices in Canada around compulsory, coerced indoctrination of young people into nonsense theories.

Everyone should keep a close eye on what Labour do here in this area.

The Safe Schools Alliance has deleted their ‘whole schools’ landing page, which talks about the need to spread queer and gender theory throughout the entirety of school curricula. So math questions, literally, like ‘if Dave has a threesome with Bob and Steve, and they have 12 dildos in equal numbers, red, blue and green, what is the ratio of dildos to Dave’s two boyfriends?’ That’s for under 12’s.

Note: Grade 7 and 8 is year 7 and 8 – so that’s 11 and 12 year olds. But again, this is the heavily santisied version. The reality encompasses masturbation and pamphlets with contact numbers to ‘sexual guidance facilitators’ lol – as in, adults who will help the 12 year old explore their sexuality.

But remember, there is no pedophile agenda, and anyone who looks at this and goes, wait, what the heck? is a right wing homophobic transphobic probably white supremacist or religious nutjob, who needs to be subjected to vicious anti-speech laws like section 18C in Australia, or section 16C in Ontario.

I am telling you right now, given what New Zealand Labour is, keep a very close eye on whatever Hipkins replaces National Standards with. I guarantee we will get a ‘whole schools’ approach to ‘intersectionality inter-sexuality’ in NZ.

I just watched the presentation at the end of the tennis and it looks like the Maori have taken over. The players came out to Maori blowing horns and the players being held by the hand and walked in by Maori women. Then at the end the winner had a Maori cloak put on her and given a Maori necklace. The announcer said this would be a tradition from now on. Look I’m fine with Maori tradition etc, but what does it have to do with tennis? It’s like this stuff is being pushed onto everything.
