Went to Warehouse Stationery yesterday to get a set of inks for my cheap Brother printer. After giving them 3 times as much as the printer itself cost I was asked if I’d like to provide a donation to the Salvation Army.
Who the fuck is dictating this request to the cashier staff? I was so flabbergasted that I lost my train of thought and could only respond that I might feel more like it if the Sallies hadn’t become a political organisation.
This comment was obviously lost on the young lady so I’ll be better prepared with a more appropriate response next time.
Like maybe: “Why would I want to donate to the Labour Party?”

    Better still, it is a lot cheaper to import inks from the US or Europe. Quick delivery, and depending on who you buy from, there are options to enable the refill of the original cartridges.
    I’m speaking from experience here, and never (repeat never) had to buy outrageously priced cartridges.

        The new printer still needs cartridges.
        And the only reason I had to buy the printer I have now is because I was using cheap cartridges which wrecked the old printer.
        Printer makers have their customers by the nuts. It’s like paying $1000 for a new car than having to spend $3000 every time you fill it up.

        You just need to check the cartridges in the printer are full size. Often they are smaller than the refills.

        So what if they are smaller. Remembert the printer is 1/3rd the price of the replacement ink. So as long as the ink in the printer is at least 1/3rd normal ink size you are on a winner, as you can sell the old printer on trade me for x dollars and you have a new printer in warranty all the time!

    Be very careful with so called ‘compatible’ stuff.
    Todays printers will reject them, as the chip in the cartridge will not be recognised by the printer.

  Buy a Colour Laser printer
  A couple of hundred bucks, fantastic quality printing, buy the toner from Toner Direct. Prints thousands of pages before refill (as opposed to a few hundred, if you are lucky, from ink-jets).
  Last set cost $200 but will last a long time.
  
  Best move I ever made, most of my ink (from the old ink-jet printer) was wasted because the bloody thing kept cleaning it’s head and using ink to do so, monstrously expensive

    The dreaded “foreign” owned forestry companies around here have no trouble planting, cultivating and harvesting trees.
    However, the Greens despise them and are throwing up road blocks to stop them.
    Unsurprisingly, the Greens don’t seem to be able to grasp the hypocrisy of this. Do they want trees planted or don’t they?
    If keeping efficient foreign owned companies from investing in forestry here is more important than actually getting trees planted, the Greens should say so.

Her justifications are random, ill-conceived, and inconsistent. 1 Media’s apparent justification for releasing this particular affair is that it is ok to name affairs if it is a police matter, but then goes on to speculate that the leak to police was from Jami or one of his mates. How did the media know it was a police matter? It was a small dodgy text sent to police on an anonymous hotline. Did the police think that this was a valid concern worthy of investigation and officially report it to media? Because it is alleged they know of another text by a political figure ( *lawnmowers*) and the police made public statements to specifically cover for that person and say he was not or never been subject to investigation. 2. Then Bennett was blamed for outing Ross’s sexual harassment behaviour and is called dirty politics. Bullshit. Bennett responded after a nuclear attack from Ross who tried to destroy the National Party and had covertly been taping private conversations of herself and Bridges. In the era of #metoo where media have been running a campaign to out sexual harassment – now HDPA thinks Bennett should have kept staff sexual harassment secret and not given any context to Ross’s situation? What’s clear is Bennett is the new target and the media couldn’t make a dent in Bridges. 3, Gender. If it’s good for the boys it’s good for the girls apparently. Fine – then name Dowie. But then you need to also name the other MP’s that are having affairs, but particularly the ones having affairs with members of the press gallery, because that is the biggest scandal and stops a journalist doing an impartial job.       Yea, Heather, a Police investigation is a serious matter, but has to take its course before the subject can be judged. his is especially when the complaint fell off the back of a truck and when viewed objectively seems to be no substance.
      Also Heather, something you and other female journos seem to have overlooked, if a prosecution for ‘harmful digital communication’ against Sarah Dowie did succeed, this would be of serious concern to womanhood since any communication made in anger when relationships fail could be deemed to be ‘harmful’. This is not supposed to have been an outcome of the Act, but DPF (AFAIK) and others fear that there will be such unintended and perverse outcomes. Perhaps Heather would like to ask Law academic Elizabeth McDonald about this. She has been campaigning for a long time for criminal law to be amended to help women who commit a crime against a partner following prolonged abuse and ill treatment from that partner.
      Incidentally, the National Party has its usual rounds of branch and electorate meetings in the next month or two. They will be significant in Botany (although no electorate MP will be there) and even more so in Invercargill as the local electorate MP attends and addresses these meetings. The National Party leadership will no doubt be interested in the mood of these meetings to decide the next step.

        Now the media are finding that southern National Party people are ‘tight lipped’, and this is exactly how they ought to be. The Electorate Chair can comment at the appropriate such as after the annual round of meetings and with the support of the Party’s President or General Manager. This would be part of a proper damage control programme that has been put in place. Media does not like it since they are desperate for more fuel to add to a dying fire.
        Incidentally I could ring ‘Crimestoppers’ and claim Joe Bloggs has committed a certain offence and when Police say they will look into it, I could claim to a compliant media that Joe Bloggs is being investigated by the Police. This may be factually correct but has the ‘overtone’ that Joe Bloggs has done some wrong when there could be very little substance to this. This is effectively what has happened to the MP concerned.

So I recently reread the Homosexual Manifesto by Michael Swift, from the US Congressional Library said In the chambers in 1987. It was called ‘the gay revolutionary’. It is extremely offensive and denigrating towards heterosexual people.

It’s a manifesto which has manifested and is manifesting. Every word of it is true and coheres with current events. I get extremely impatient with people who lie and say it was all just a joke.

Well, I wrote a manifesto for a heterosexual revolution. Unlike Swifts which is all true and sincere and reflects true gay contempt and hatred, mine is tomgue in cheek. It’s just a cliche straw man of what a nonexistent heterosexual male might think about the homosexual movement. Just a construct. Totally insincere. Just a mockery of the very idea of the heterosexual bigot which of course doesn’t exist. Just like Swifts we are told doesn’t exist. Except his does exist. Mine doesn’t of course. Read Swift’s before reading my satire. It adopts exactly the same style and tone as Swifts. It’s a little offensive. But it’s just a reactionary discourse. Just like Swifts. Doesn’t need to be taken seriously, or anything. It’s quite long. So please forgive me. Ill take a break for a few days to compensate. Writing manifestos is so easy even if you aren’t part of the homosexual aristocracy supremacists Swift refers to. Again. Read his first.

Also perhaps read my comments about parents arrested for abuse in Ohio for trying to stop the State turning their boy into a girl (the boy was forcibly sex changed).

Manifesto next comment. I hope a lot of gay men give me constructive feedback on this, parallel satire.

More important questions raised than an ex-lover’s spat and Jami-lee Ross revenge agenda.

In his speech, Ross also quoted the school’s aim to produce “good and useful citizens”. Most people will conclude he isn’t good but he has certainly been useful already if you look beyond the narrow interests of the National Party to the wider interests of the nation.

Ross has given us insights into our political life that only an insider could know, including how donations are handled and how much influence some donors expect (or hope) to have over candidate selection in the National Party.

His disclosures about wealthy Chinese donors has also sparked increased interest in Professor Anne-Marie Brady’s research into how United Front activities run by those close to the Chinese Communist Party have infiltrated our political life.

And Ross could prove himself to be even more useful if he told us much, much more about how our politics are entwined with the push by the CCP to influence perceptions of China overseas and policy towards it.

For starters, he might enlighten us on the role of Dr Jian Yang — that mysterious figure in National’s caucus who was part of China’s intelligence community and a member of the Communist Party, and who refuses to speak to journalists (or at least English-speaking ones).

It would be entirely appropriate for Ross to perform this service, not least because in his speech he declared himself to be passionately opposed to socialism.

He should be very happy then to expose the deep links between National — the party purportedly of “individual freedom and choice” (number 4 on its list of values) — and the communist regime in China that is one of the most repressive and repugnant on the planet.

Some will think it’s the very least a man who professed in 2011 to be devoted to “individual freedom” and who in 2018 dedicated himself to exposing the “rot within the National Party” could do.

  There are more pertinent issues at play.
  
  Despite the public front National has adopted on the donations issue, it has still not satisfactorily dealt with Ross’ claim that he was effectively asked to wash a $100,000 donation from Yikun Zhang by ensuring it was split into smaller amounts.
  
  National Party apparatchiks denied there was a $100,000 donation. National Leader Simon Bridges said at the time a “large sum of money” came into the party from multiple sources through donations from Zhang and supporters through Ross’ electorate account in Botany in the first instance.
  
  The issue here is one of “substance over form”.
  
  Nor has Bridges dealt satisfactorily with the clear implication from the tapes that Ross leaked, of a prior conversation that suggested he favoured effectively trading positions for different ethnicities on National’s list, in return for donations.
  
  These issues — which strike at the heart of democracy and business ethics — have been obscured in the general furore over Ross’ meltdown.
  
  It is obvious that there is sufficient underlying truth to Ross’ claims on this score to have provoked senior National MPs to call for change.
  
  Former Attorney-General and National MP Chris Finlayson was sufficiently exercised to use his valedictory speech in Parliament last year to say he was concerned over funding of political parties by non-nationals.
  
  Finlayson called for both major parties to work together on party funding rules, saying it was his personal view that it should be illegal for non-nationals to donate to political parties.
  
  “Our political system belongs to New Zealanders and I don’t like the idea of foreigners funding it … we need to work together to ensure our democracy remains our democracy.”
  
  The issue has also festered with the long-serving veteran National MP Nick Smith who revealed to the Herald this week he also wants reforms to ensure the integrity of the NZ electoral system.
  
  If Ross is of a decent mind he would chalk up a minor victory on this score as having focused National MPs’ attention on behind-the-scenes dealing in their party.
  
  National is not going to wash its dirty linen in public but the allegations their former party
  whip raised are of sufficient merit for police to finalise that particular probe.
  
  I don’t think we can rely on Ross being ‘of a decent mind’, he seems more intent on personal revenge.
  
  And we can’t rely on the Police to do a decent investigation of political funding, they seem to prefer to avoid political investigations.
  
  Unfortunately I think that much of the media is more interested in the personal lives of politicians becoming public fodder.
  
  But a proper examination of funding methods and of possible Chinese influence in the National Party is where journalist attention should be focussed.

    “The Cook Islands became a New Zealand colony in 1901 but after a push for self-determination in the 1960s it became self-governing in ‘free association’ with New Zealand in 1965. This means it administers its own affairs but that Cook Islanders are New Zealand citizens who are free to live and work here.”

    There’s a lot of media coverage in NZ about criminals being deported here from Australia.
    
    For example, Radio NZ, probably because of its alliance with the Maori tribal radio network, seems to have an open line to those threatening hunger strike because of pending deportation to NZ.
    
    But Aussies don’t give a stuff. Because of NZ’s more open immigration policy, and because Ardern and Judas Peters accepted the UN’s Global Compact for Migration, New Zealanders are coming close to losing the right to enter Australia without visas.
    
    Getting rid of Samoans and Tongans? Send them to NZ. They’ll take anybody.

  The NZ movie is well established and top of its game. It is a world leader.
  
  There is absolutely no need for a movie industry subsidies.
  
  Subsidies have huge negative impacts. Think of all the bakers, mechanics and plumbers that must pay more tax (and get less government services) so that Peter Jackson can buy more jet fuel.

The original expenses leak – did Dowie do it?
Pricewaterhouse Inquiry said –
 a) we have not identified the leaker of the Expense Documents with certainty
 b) the evidence points to Mr Ross.

The “deserve to die” text message was sent to Ross, 1:19am Saturday, August 11
Newshub asked Bridges about the expense leak on August 13
So the leak was within hours really of the “deserve to die” text? 

The expenses leak was silly – in terms of embarrassing Bridges, because the document was to be released later that week anyway – but to set-up and derail Ross, the leak was perhaps a masterstroke.

Ross has always denied he leaked the original expenses information.

Enough issues warp this country’s democracy without the Opposition Leader’s standing being undermined as just collateral damage in one woman, scorned, seeking utu, 

And, from its content, the following comment is obviously pre-naming of Dowie –

  The fact there have been further leaks since they expelled Ross suggests he may not have been the leaker, in which case his fury at Bridges and Bennett is understandable.
  
  As for Dowie, if the people reading Newsroom’s story about the poor, naive, innocent woman who was allegedly duped into an abusive relationship with Ross had been told that the woman was a fellow MP, married with children and known for her social conservative views about family values, a qualified lawyer and 10 years older than him, their attitude to the story would probably have been very different.

  His antics are also news as were Colin Craig’s various meltdowns, and to a lesser extent Pansy Wong, Judith Collins & Maurice Williamson when they were demoted and Meka Whaitiri & Clare Curran more recently. Then there was rhe Greens implosion over Metiria Turei.
  None of these failings was reported to take the pressure off anyone else, but they most certainly reflected poorly on the people involved and depending on your point of view their particular party.
  
  Both main parties have plenty of MPs who let the side down through incompetence, corruption or personal failings and get demoted or resign altogether, but it’s pretty rare when someone actually turns on their mates.

Voters need to start saving for the big rise in the cost of living on it’s way as a result of the radical greens unholy alliance with UN Fervent Cindy and Hopeful Traitor Winny.
With new exploration banned,coal mining hobbled and natural gas supply running out in around 7 years , NZ is facing a massive energy shortfall of the 20% non renewables. Minister 2 Pies says they will build 4 wind farms per year to make up capacity , what total BS who on earth thinks that will happen !
The watermelon Eco fundies and the RMA will ensure more hydro dams wont happen either.

So it is almost certain in a few years time we will have to import LNG from Oz at 5 TIMES the cost of our natural gas. Plus because hydo, solar, and wind are not guaranteed supply as are weather dependent ,unless COAL is used eg Huntly as backup NZ is up for rolling blackouts known as load shedding.And all the electric cars,batteries,cycle lanes and trams in the world wont make a damn difference.
This govts reckless adherence to Climate change ideology madness needs confronting at the grass roots level – Let’s do this. .

  LNG will be a golden fuel for the coming decades as countries switch out of coal. Australia is perfectly positioned for this.
  
  The idea that wind farms will displace gas in New Zealand is fanciful. Imagine the cost of ditching all the gas infrastructure in the North Island and switching to electricity. And the supreme irony is that the required electricity generation would require gas.
  
  Then there is the golden use of gas in fertilisers and feedstock for hundreds of products.
  
  Historians will not look back on this decision kindly. Of course I could be mistaken. Perhaps by 2040 we will be a wealthy country consuming no gas, no coal and powered by wind and solar. We will be lauded by others for our visionary 2018 decision. Only time will tell.

What an appalling display in the early morning arrest, handcuffing and shackling of Roger Stone by the FBI. The guy was at home, his deaf wife upstairs but of course CNN was in attendance. The reason given was that Stone ‘could be dangerous’; so why was a CNN goon there? It seems Stone is broke, but he has written a book that shines a light on the FBI..naughty.

    You are right that the Nazis regarded Slavs as being of a secondary species, despite considerable numbers of Germans, such as the Sorbs, having Slavic genes. The East Prussians (such as NZ’s von Tempsky) also were likely part-Slavic.
    
    The Germans took tens of thousands of Ukrainians into their armies in World War 2 – including into the Waffen SS. (Of course, far, far more Ukrainians fought in the Red Army.) After treating Russian prisoners of war terribly, the Nazis near the end did move to setting up Russian units.
    
    However, there does seem to be a harder line taken on white immigrants to NZ compared with treatment of non-whites, on whose behalf there is often manipulation of media when deportation is a possibility.
    
    I’m thinking of the Canterbury German-origin family, with NZ born children, deported because of an old, apparently undisclosed drug offence by the father.
    
    I’m thinking of the parallel cases in Otago, of, first, an Asian family with a chronically ill family member, and, second, a white South African family with a child with a disability. I think the former only were allowed to stay in NZ. (Pete George may be able to explain why this was rational.)
    
    My conclusion is that, at least in part, Immigration officials apply lighter enforcement on non-whites because of politically correct pressure and because of fear of hostile media coverage.

      But race and colour seem to be fluid. Slavs were “below the line”, then were recruited into the core of Nazi racism, the SS units. Similarly, Bosnian Muslims (either of Slavic or Turkish origin) formed an SS unit.

With apparently no sense of his own hypocrisy, Greg Presland (aka Micky Savage) is reporting at the Standard that “Fran O’Sullivan is right. The circumstances relating to National’s hiding of a $100,000 donation by partitioning it are much more of a threat to our democracy than Sarah Dowie’s unfortunately phrased text.” Hmmm is that the same Greg Presland that was investigated as the founder of Len Brown’s Secret Mayoral trust that skirted the law and never disclosed it’s donors. Is that the same Greg Presland that also set up Cunliffes secret trust that was forced to name the donors and had to return at least two donations as he wasn’t prepared to name them.

All Children All Families is working with child welfare agencies to get them to give more kids to LGBTQ parents to abuse.

They call people who point out that foster kids in these families statistically suffer heavy abuse as ‘licence to discriminate liars’. LGBTQ never did nuffin to nohow.

Agencies have to grade themselves on their LGBTQ inclusiveness. This is in Oklahoma. These people are saying that if there is ever a scenario where there is a contest between a nice straight couple, and a single mum or an LGBTQ couple – it is discrimination and a hate-crime to give the kid to the heterosexual couple.

Because if you make it illegal for heterosexual couples to compete with gay couples for adoptee children – that’s equality.

Fuck you, Swifty. I don’t like being annoying. But I’m not a liar. You can just sit tight.

Parents in Massachusets can now call their kids ‘gender X’ on their birth certificates. Without any medical or administrative barriers.

So kids will be de-gendered from the moment they are conceived.

Remember – it’s a hate-crime for anyone to affirm someones’ actual gender. But it’s completely legal to remove a child’s gender without it’s consent, at birth, and force it into a GSA and take it home and give it alcohol and pornography.

Remember, baptism is child abuse. But denying a kid a gender, because your fake kid is a fashion accessory so that you can pretend to be a real boy when you’re pinocchio is not only not illegal – it’s a huge positive!

Scottish Nursery staff are not allowed to call children boys and girls – as guidance from the ‘Care Inspectorate’ which must be located to the Ministry of Intelligence where Swifty is the Chief Executive Officer, and the Ministry of Love, where he is an incel.

This is across all nurseries in the whole country of Scotland, home of the Scottish Enlightenment.

So these kids are denied a gender, and then they are denied the address of ‘boy or girl’ for the sake of Swift and his friends. But I’m sure they won’t be denied other forms of affection.

But that’s not child abuse. That’s equality.
