Wimpston peeders

Finally got around to watching “no safe spaces” last night, quite interesting and worth a watch if you havent seen it.

Imo it gives an insight to whats instore for us in the near future, i hope that NZ has more then a few good folk willing to stand up and defend free speech.

No doubt gothams hero and the usual snowflakes will have a tantrum about it or total denounce it without even watching.

I would also love to say 13% increase on the govts stupidity and incompetance too but sadly i think that is far higher.

  I don’t like the great reset and what it’s about,
  but you have to remember James Delingpole’s thing is how the great reset is going to be to the end of everything, we’re going to all be slaves etc, etc.
  
  This is how people like James make money on the internet, you take a position normally the more extreme the better and endlessly discuss it, doesn’t matter if it’s true or made up or grossly exaggerated as long as you convince people to look at and share what you’re saying.

Right now, according to many kiwi bloggers, the wheels should have fallen off the economy. What do they do?   One thing that Trump has done well is to look at Covid 19 from a broader economic perspective than most of the rest of the world. He has the sense to see that lockdowns are not only not working, but are bringing economies to their knees. People in this country are so obsessed with keeping the disease out that they are prepared to see the economy ruined. To put some perspective on the number of deaths, pre-Covid, WHO projected that the number of world deaths in 2022 would be 1.5 million higher than this year. That’s about the same number as have died with Covid. Given that the preponderance of deaths is among the elderly, it will be interesting to see if next years death toll is in fact lower.

The fucktards who ignored the warnings over Thanksgiving are somewhat but not wholly responsible for the ICUs at capacity and the hospital tents outside Kaiser and Join Muir. It’s a nasty highly contagious, mutating, tissue attacking virus. What Trump blathers on about and what Texas and Tennessee are doing does not represent the rest of the US.

      The California state governor is primarily responsible for the covid response in California, not Trump.
      
      Same in Australia. You’ll note that the individual states there locked out travel from north Sydney and NSW, it wasn’t a federal decision.

      I know that lockdowns are a State rather than Federal decision, so Trump’s opinion carries little weight. My point is that he presents a perspective which is not entirely without foundation, namely that in the long term, lockdowns do more harm than good.

      The best way of explaining economics is to equate it to an ordinary household. The current economic situation is quite simple. In March 2020 the grant and jacinda household (nz economy) lost about 50% of its income.
      
      Grant and Jacinda have replaced this income by maxxing out the credit cards and continued spending as normal. As a result things all seem pretty good.
      
      The problem is that Grant and Jacinda dont have a plan to either replace the lost income or repay the debt.
      
      A better plan would have been for Grant and Jacinda to make a list of their expenses. They could then make a list of priorities and eliminate unecessary spending. The could also look at selling various assetts that are surplus to requirements.

        this requires a knowledge and appreciation of basic economics, let alone global financing practices. Even a basic knowledge of NZ’s potential wealth development areas would help.
        But I suppose, being able to expand salaries & wages of the Civil service 13% in a self generated recession could be looked upon as an economic achievement!!

  Whatever does or does not happen it is a good idea for households to create a buffer against a downturn, increased tax and regs, the unforeseen including natural. Not wanting to sound like an extreme prepper but we all should already have a emergency kit and a plan.
  
  Not talking about bearing arms, but sensible financial and housing security for the household. Such as holding a cash buffer, pay down loans, add or upgrade security to home and work premises.

  At our Family AGM on Christmas Day it was agreed that the next 2 years will see us all making significant adjustments to budget and life-style spending as soon as possible. There will be no holidays, or non-essential house expenditure. Properties that might be subject to a ‘bright-line’ test will be appropriately disposed of.
  The two senior management types expect that their continued employment will become a matter of negotiation with their International companies. They are paying down mortgages, not replacing the cars, & making plans for becoming Contractors if they become redundant, and moving out of the city now that they are mostly working from home and the kids are independent. There was some discussion about bit-coin.
  We will be living in interesting times –

    There is no downside to thinking through scenarios and being prepared. Most people don’t.
    
    There is a reason for the cliché – hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
    
    (I’d be very surprised if even this government applied a new bright line test or CGT retrospectively.
    Probably worth hanging on to rentals for now, getting the tenants to pay for upgrades and later renting them to family (exempt from Residential Tenancies Act ridiculousness) if custard appears on the horizon. To coin a phrase.)

It takes a special kind of wicked to cry “Fire!” in a crowded theatre and then to lock all the escape routes. At the end of the 18th century the economist Malthus argued that human progress was unsustainable, “The power of population is so superior to the power of the earth to produce subsistence for man, that premature death must in some shape or other visit the human race” (An Essay on the Principle of Population, 1798). And yet Malthus also argued stridently against birth control because it was “unnatural”. Malthus’ dogmas were used by the British as justification for refusing to respond to the famines in Ireland and India. The starving had caused their own suffering by “breeding like rabbits”.

Fast forward to the present. As the global population growth rate peaked in the 1980s, neo-Malthusians looked to climate change as a replacement apocalypse. And a new breed of ecological economists argued that humans were overloading natural systems and causing them to collapse. Economic growth would have to end. Wealth would need to be transferred to the developing world by rich countries so that they did not need to industrialize. And the global population would need to be reduced by perhaps as much as two billion.

And yet, all the while technological solutions were readily available to deal with the problems environmentalists asserted regarding the impact of using fossil fuels such as coal and oil. Natural gas and nuclear power could greatly reduce carbon emissions. Environmentalists did their utmost however to confuse nuclear power generation with nuclear weapons in the public mind, as we have seen in New Zealand. And technologies such as genetic engineering were decried, in Malthus’ words, as “unnatural”.

So having shouted “Fire” climate catastrophists are now busy locking the escape routes and whipping up hysteria with claims that the world will end in twelve years time, in order to cower the public into submission and to condition them to readily accept their totalitarian agenda. This is where New Zealand is today, and this is how your children are being indoctrinated in State schools. Let’s make 2021 the year in which we began to push back against this nihilistic, anti-humanistic and scientifically illiterate ideology.

  I remember when – and not very long ago it seems, I think in 2012 – there were dire predictions that the world would literally end on a certain date in the Mayan calendar, because they stopped adding days to the calendar after that time..
  
  Everyone except the poor deluded followers (poor because they were encouraged in some cases to sell all their possessions and give the money to their cult leaders) knew this was hilariously funny, and openly mocked the doomsdayers.
  
  Now, just 8 years later, seemingly rational people are again predicting the end of the world in just a few short years, with evidence and reasoning no less ridiculous than the Mayan calendar fiasco. But the reaction from people that clearly should know better is to bow down in obeisance and start getting their affairs in order. You couldn’t make it up.

        In the current context the globalist elite are generally the rich Left who have achieved positions of power and are now exercising control over the population.
        
        That used to happen by way of the gun. Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, Stalin, Mussolini to name a few. All of those came from Socialist and Communist roots.
        
        Now it is done via the “rules based order” with the Left now exercising that power through for example the EU technocratic bodies, social media and soon Kamala Harris with the Green New Deal and the global Great Reset.
        
        Many dictators started with similar messages about “change for the better” and while in and of itself that message is fine, when it involves mobilising large numbers of dis-satisfied people against a minority, it takes on another form.
        
        In the 30’s the minority were the Jews. In nz now, the minority are the “landlords”. The language is the same. “They” have taken something from you. “They” are preventing you from achieving your potential.
        
        I intend to become financially mobile in the next couple of years. I can invest globally just as easily from Australia, the Cook Islands, or Panama as from here, and as the neo-fascists become more ascendant, I need to be more mobile. Another lesson from the 30’s

  Something occurred to me the other day when, again, I was listening to someone banging on about our wonderful ‘essential workers’.
  
  I argue there’s no such thing – or at least they exist in far, far fewer numbers than we are being told is the case.
  
  It was pretty early on in the year we were first introduced to this notion of ‘essential services’ and that anyone who worked in these services instantly became an ‘essential worker’ as though the country couldn’t get on without these particular individuals.
  
  I see the unions, pollies, the HRC etc doing it all year – that supermarket workers etc are ‘essential’ and deserve this and that. Well I say in the majority of cases we are being grossly misled. The ‘function’ of providing food and other goods vital to our health and well-being is essential I agree – but if Panjeet the shelf-stocker or Sally the checkout operator quit they would be replaced in hours – they, individually, are not in any way essential to the supermarket function.
  
  The closest we would get to ‘essential workers’ are those individuals with skills, experience and training unique in the country, work in an essential function and cannot be replaced easily or at all.
  
  Who would fit that definition? I’ll leave that to my fellow KBers to decide.
  
  In the meantime I urge us to laugh at anyone who tries to tell us that Sally or Panjeet are ‘essential’ and deserve things above and beyond the other millions of NZers who have worked their assess off this year.

  Just what exactly is the role of the Equal Employment Opportunities Commissioner, Saunoamaali’i Dr Karanina Sumeo?
  
  Looking at her job title one might assume it is to highlight where in NZ she believes we have a lack of or unequal employment OPPORTUNITIES.
  
  But then we see her going much further than that and endlessly banging on about what she perceives are inequalities of OUTCOME e.g. her latest hobby horse the notion of an ethnic pay gap.
  
  Not happy with that, she now lectures us on the steps she believes we must take in order to address these apparent inequalities of outcome i.e. “Also on her wish list would be another look at a capital gains tax (and) revisiting the Welfare Expert Advisory Group recommendations….” and “We all talked about the recovery being the recovery for everyone. Well, that’s not happening now and unless there’s some significant intervention….” I see no mention from her about the government getting the hell out of business and just letting us get on with it, no, her only suggestion is MORE government, as if that’s going to work, snigger.
  
  So there we have it, a taxpayer-funded advocate for socialist policies. I wonder what she’d be on? $150,000-$200,000 a year? More?
  
  I wonder, also, when in making decisions on these matters, whether our politicians receive countervailing advice from elsewhere in the civil service, or are merely saturated in purely lefty counsel?

      I have no objections to a CGT per se, and I would have much preferred that we had an intelligent and fullsome conversation about it, as part of a broad-based NZ taxation system and with other taxes lowered so that it’s introduction was revenue neutral – but of course Labour totally cocked that up and the calls from the left were all about destroying the evil rich and now we are told that it is unlikely to be revisited “for at least a generation” because it’s now a political death-trap.

    I would expect that the rate for whoever she is is in the senior (not top which is up about $450,000 plus) salary of the level, and that is now about $375,000.

  Interesting article and millennials need to pull in their spoilt privileged heads in abs stop criticising boomers who gave them what they have today. Boomers worked hard and sacrificed for what they had. I had 4 mortgages and to pay my bills had to sit down and plan how and when I could pay them. Often it was food on the table but the vege garden helped. Our furniture was junk and one by one we replaced it on hire purchase as we could afford it. Our car was old and I was always repairing them because paying a mechanic was out of the question. I’ve sacrificed all m life including being away from family working to better my future. Now I’m mortgage free and retire early next year with enough to live comfortably for the rest of my life. Hard as it is for millennials to understand but get out there, sacrifice and work as we boomers did and then you’ll have something to moan about.

    Happily retired – small mortgage, wife works part time to keep me in the manner to which I have become accustomed.
    Great kids, all three have done – and are doing – very well, and help us when necessary.
    It’s a great life (apart from Spindy the liar) and am enjoying retirement in my 78th. year. 🙂

Over the next 3 years she’ll be desperate to hold onto the swing Nat voters but Labour will end up like the Clarke government. Kicked out for the Nats and Act to fix her mess. You only have to look at all the working groups that gave her advice, eg the working group proposals for welfare reform and I can’t see the 40+ suggestions being implemented any time soon.   I went in and had a look. I do wonder if the current geopolitics is about to take the shine off Jacinda’s plans. China are reported to be sending 400 trawlers down to fish in Australian territorial waters. Australia aren’t going to roll over and let them and will surely send their navy to stop this happening. Thort this was worth sharing with the group….

My partner was speaking to a Washington based gun collector he deals with last night. He was telling him that the Nashville bombing completely took out the Sungard Data Center. And that Silver Lake, owner of Sungard, recently bought Solar Winds, which was behind the months long hack that infiltrated all the US governments networks and about 18,000+ companies.

The plot thickens as they say.

  The local branch, Amnesty International Aoteroa New Zealand Inc, in its latest filed report, for the year ended December 31, 2019, shows:
  
  – revenue for the 12 months at $2,930,837, is down 5.6 per cent on the 2018 year;
  
  – expenses totalled $2,985,872.
  
  – the over-all deficit or loss of $23,008.
  
  – of expenses, $1,347,291 was pay to staff.
  
  – other expenses not in the $1,347,291, include $1,083,580 on fund-raising costs.
  
  – these fund-raising costs include $747,047 on, “Recruitment of new donors (incl fundraisers wages).”
  
  – among expenses listed is $15,676 on activism,
  
  – of the 2019 revenue, $2,930,837 came from donations, $111,000 from grants and $78,513 from legacies and bequests.
  
  On the favourable side, Amnesty NZ’s auditor reports the organisation “has good cash reserves and holds no bank debt.”
  
  It does, however, have a loan from Amnesty International in the UK of $990,345, and a loan from “Amnesty International, Schweizer Sektion” in Switzerland of $300.000.

  For global warming it is certainly quite cold. And you can’t say it is climate change. It has hailed and snowed on Christmas day in the South Island in the middle of last century, before “global warming” / “climate change” / “Sky is falling”.
  
  I personally recall hail early on Christmas day in the 1960’s in mid Canterbury. (100m above sea level).
  
  And:
  1964: “In contrast, Christmas Day in the south and Boxing Day further north were marred by the passage of a cold front with unseasonably cool temperatures. Snow fell on the ranges of both islands and was reported down to 1600 ft in Southland and Otago.”

I don’t think Trump knows what he is doing. He’s doing what has worked before but would only work in an alternate universe now. And a couple of those pardons including for Manafort though alas not for the Blackwater pardons should get him doing jail time. He won’t get near a sandwich at Republican functions let alone a run in 2024.

He’s getting one final dig at Big Tech which will backfire nicely.   Also container issues. We need more empty ones in NZ as we export TEU ( loaded) than import ( Wahrehouse shit from Asia).

and I genuinely believed the vote counting machines were rigged, I would not tweet out appeals to SCOTUS and the DOJ. I’d have the machines seized & the fraud exposed, so that it is impossible for the courts, the DOJ and the GOP to ignore
