  While I would certainly leave if Labour win at the next election, and I am encouraging my family to think about it also, I am discussing the problems we face as a country with as many people as I can.

      Considering our liberal and democratic performance in imposing lock down restrictions and making unvaccinated New Zealanders second class citizens by decree, even the Republic of Belarus human rights record seems to be superior.   He is also advocating for a change of government at the next election to one that will take a few timid steps toward attempting to slow the decline of quality of life in New Zealand while at the same time implementing various UN agendas that are causing that decline.

This government has to grow up and accept that pandering to criminals is not conducive to maintaining a civilised society.

    But I guess it will be only the insurance companies doing that – assuming the business owners and individuals can afford to keep paying the cost of the increasing premiums.
    Free stuff and sympathy for gangs and criminals from the government and hugs from the council.

  With the stories from yesterday, what has happened to NZ? This is not the NZ I grew up in during the 1960s and 1970s. I do not recall such a violent crime wave as we have been witnessing this year.
  
  So, in order to change the narrative, we get told that white collar fraud is much worse and more prevalent in NZ today. And that the white privileged society and rest of the country is not interested in talking about this crime, because these “white collar” criminals are not the children of the low socio-economic Maori/Polynesian suburbs of South Auckland or associated with the gangs. What nonsense!!
  
  The government needs to get a grip and stop spinning their manure.

While blame for any crime ultimately rests with individuals who commits it, the broader picture is one of societal breakdown. The buck for this stops with Ardern’s motley mob of miscreants, but I want to call out two other parties for special mention

1. Labour voters, particularly those who switched in 2020. Their manifestly foolish, evidence free belief that Ardern was some kind of messiah has led us here.

2. The media. Their sycophancy would have made Pravda editors blush. A river of government lies and malfeasances went unchallenged leaving our civil democracy without a critical line of defense from state abuse.

  You are onto something however it, societal breakdown, has been coming for longer than this current government.
  We can look back to the breakdown of families and the increase in state interference of our lives.
  The increase in poverty since the welfare state was activated where people get trapped in welfare (loosing money when they get a job) and also fatherless males with poor mentors and little or no encouragement.
  John Key, before elected in 2008, used to mention the “underclass of society” and how he’d fix it.
  To conserve something means to keep it which is why he didn’t really do anything to reverse what the previous government had done in that area round the likes of the “working for families” policy.
  The Key Government didn’t make it worse per se but didn’t make it better either, hence being Labour Lite.
  Next year National have a chance to return to the Centre and use ACT to actually put in some meaningful change, if the Nats have the balls to do so.

  What’s really strange about the media is how open they are about having ZERO interest in anything the Labour party are doing. Their total focus is on just one person, their seraphic Jacinda. They will swarm like antibodies to defend her from any threat real or imagined, including the cells of the host party.
  
  I don’t know why they are so infatuated, the amount of external support that person needs on a daily basis is way, way beyond normal for an “ordinary” person in a job let alone one high up on a pedestal. If it’s a “you go girl” thing then they need to really take a good hard brutally honest look at themselves, shake off the persecutory delusions left wing politics thrives in and focus on the many quietly achieving role models already surrounding them.

Here’s an odd case. From the reported facts, the offence was neglect of someone he had no personal responsibility for (the victim’s daughter was surely primarily responsible). Yet he got 6 years in jail, plus deportation, which will destroy his marriage as his wife is unable to move with him. In no way am I defending him, but it’s interesting to compare & contrast the deportation decision with those of other cases, including fakeugees, rapists from the Pacific Is and sundry djrug smugglers.

Meanwhile the various elements of government assure us that things are not as bad as we percieve them, and all is well.

However, as our lived realities become more at odds with what the government is telling us, the government will have to rely more and more on the media.

2023 will be interesting to see how long teh media will continue with the mass delusion of Labours vision. Big cracks are already showing. Even the media are feeling lied to and the worm is turning.

Items 1 & 4 are intra-criminal events. Items 2 & 3 possibly could be solved, but only if there were fundamental changes in ideology for our systems of healthcare and “justice” respectively, whereas all I’m hearing is the sound of tinkering.

As I listen to the supporters of ACT, Labour, National, The Green’s and others I’m getting an uneasy feeling that none of this is solvable by any government.

It has got to the point where dairy owners will not be able to get staff. They will be totally reliant on family.

What parent would allow a 16 year old to get a weekend job in a dairy?

  I think a rahui only works when your iwi has “guardianship” over the resource concerned, and it’s temporary, to help the resource recover.
  
  Since no iwi has “guardianship” over corner dairies, a rahui isn’t applicable

For some reason, reading this thread got me thinking about trolling:

“Trolling correlates positively with sadism, trait psychopathy, and Machiavellianism (see Dark triad). Trolls take pleasure from causing pain and emotional suffering. Their ability to upset or harm gives them a feeling of power. Psychological researches conducted in the fields of personality psychology and cyberpsychology report that trolling behaviour qualifies as an anti-social behaviour and is strongly correlated to sadistic personality disorder (SPD). Researches have shown that men, compared with women, are more likely to perpetrate trolling behaviour; these gender differences in online anti-social behaviour may be a reflection of gender stereotypes, where agentic characteristics such as competitiveness and dominance are encouraged in men. The results corroborated that gender (male) is a significant predictor of trolling behaviour, alongside trait psychopathy and sadism to be significant positive predictors. Moreover, these studies have shown that people who enjoy trolling online tend to also enjoy hurting other people in everyday life, therefore corroborating a longstanding and persistent pattern of psychopathological sadism.”

There have been 3 random murders within 7km of my son’s Auckland home.

2 of their motorbikes were stolen from outside their house, and one attempted.

Auckland is a crime wave hell for him!

The mongrel mob gangster didn’t get punished for stealing my son’s motorbike as he said he ‘found’ it.

Wrap around services not working!

    As if resisting robbery and violence is some sort of justification for robbers to inflict violent injury!!!
