  Anyway, what would he say? Such interventions generally happen in two circumstances. Firstly, where an arrest is clearly corrupt, eg a journalist arrested for “spying”. Secondly, where an offender has been sentenced to death.

  If two people from the UK came here and had an alleged scuffle with local police after allegedly breaking a law pertaining to traffic regulations, would we expect the English PM to intervene?
  Mr Hipkins would do better to think about what his own former Minister of Justice allegedly did re traffic offending here.

    According to a contributor yesterday the gossip in Hamilton would suggest these chaps have been hard done by.
    Wouldn’t surprise me at all, although the video clips were quite compelling and humiliating a policeman is not a good look

  It was just the biased MSM inviting Hipkins to attack the PM about something. And of course he obliges. It’s a nightly occurrence. What would we say of two Thai’s attacked a New Zealand cop? This is an unfortunate case but the legal process on Thailand will have to take its course. If we talk down to overseas countries and act as if it is a given that their legal system is inherently ‘bad’ then it would come across as patronising and offensive. When you look at the mess our legal system is in then we probably don’t have solid ground to stand on when taking a pop at anyone else.

      It never has a capital letter because it’s the name of a species of bird. Using it to refer to people is slang and using it in a formal context is not only sloppy and dumbed down it’s reductive, cringeworthy crap (which is why it suits the left to use it – they like patting us on the head like toddlers). Affectionate anecdotes from the past (where a well meaning official was too lazy to pronounce “New Zealander”) don’t make it any less so – if we’re less foreign than others in the UK it’s because we’re ethnically British and the UK is our ancestral homeland. Refraining from putting an s on the end because you want to use Maori language rules for plurals doesn’t make it any more correct either. There’s only one demonym and it’s New Zealander – you don’t get to redefine us.

  Thailand is a “face” culture and, therefore, if Luxon actually wants to help the two brothers then the best thing he could do is praise the Thai system. Say that NZ respects the Thai people and we are embarrassed by these two. Without their being much defence, the best the two can hope is provide some compensation to the police officer and then get deported. If we make a song and dance of it the Thai will have to punish the two brothers in order to save face.

    Yes, co-governance has worked so well in the Ureweras. The huts that haven’t been demolished or removed are so poorly maintained, as are the tracks, that nobody wants to go there. Total cluster-whatsit, planned and executed.
    
    DOC has way too much power and influence in what turn out to be commercial or political issues. Anyone calling into Mt Cook village and enquiring about the saga of the Old Mountaineers cafe and restaurant will understand what I’m referring to. Is it physically possible at all? Could the Climate Commission tell us how?

    Well, it’s not quite as straight-forward as this. Ignoring the other myriad of variables, the relationship between CO2 concentration and heat trapping is logarithmic, not linear.

He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers. From 1972 to 1982, he served as the Gordon McKay Professor of Dynamic Meteorology at Harvard University.
      
      I doubt he agrees with your assertion about the relationship between atmospheric CO2 concentrations & heat trapping. He sees no trouble from the process for the next 4000 years. Still what would he know?

        Spam, the problem is most people don’t understand what’s meant by Logarithmic or what the log relationship is.
        The reality is that CO2 concentration causes temperature to rise by about 2.3C for a DOUBLING of CO2 concentration. But this is in the lab, there are too many other factors in the environment that impact on this relationship. In a Lab environment, going from the ~290 ppm we apparently had in about the 1860s to 580 ppm (still a long way off) would result in 2.3C increase. BUT similarly going from 200 ppm to 400 ppm or 500 ppm to 1000 ppm would also cause this increase.
        But this is all in a Lab, where CO2 is the only gas being tested. If you throw water vapour and methane into the mix, both of which have absorption specra that overlap with CO2 you get completely different increase rates with the impact of CO2 being much less. So in lab conditions it’s logarithmic, but in mixed gas environments like earth’s atmosphere, it’s more likely linear at best, and quite possibly not causing any increase at all.

        You are correct, the co2 experiments are all done in labs observing minimal variables.
        The effect of co2 concentration on temperature is probably best described as asymptotic, at a high enough temperature it will be absorbed increasingly by the oceans and increased vegetation.
        
        Its rise leads to its demise, perhaps !
        
        The planet self regulates primarily according to the solar radiation.

        Both Lindzen and Happer have calculated that a doubling of atmospheric Co2 would cause less that 1C of additional warming. Alarmist turd-polishers have added unproven feedbacks to puff this up to around 3C (as they do). I’d trust Happer and Lindzen and dozens of other of others in their league over the alarmist zealots who have taken over the institutions.
        
        Keep in mind around 96% of atmospheric Co2 does not come from human activity!
        
        Keep in mind also that ice core and other proxy records clearly show temps rise first then atmospheric Co2 rises over hundreds of years later, NOT the other way around!

    Carbon, as an atom is always on this planet in one form or another. It does not come from somewhere else. When we burn a fossil fuel, say coal, we are just releasing stored carbon. It was not always coal.
    Humans are trying to fuck this planet up. Earth has ben through many things in the last 4.5+ billion years, and Earth will still be here long after humans have gone.
    There is nothing we can do that will destroy the planet. Even nuclear war, the planet will still be here, just different.
    So all the save this, save that, nutbars need to just STFU!

      All the experts are trying to explain that the cloud seeding didn’t cause the unusual rain. The logic is that cloud seeding only works if there’s already moisture in the air, so it was probably going to rain any way. Which of course doesn’t make a lot of sense since that means all the cloud seeding work is for nothing. How about the cloud seeding forced larger volumes of water to form clouds and hence more rain.
      @Geri Sjovik Not sure if you are trying to imply that Cloud Seeding is a conspiricy theory with your reference to chemtrails. Sorry, but cloud seeding is a real thing, and it is being done in Dubai. If you search the Internet you will see that many experts, including those in Dubai admit this is being done. Whether it works or not is a different question, but it’s definitely being tried. Dubai is denying they were cloud seeding before the last big storm, but they would deny this if they felt they were going to be blamed for the disaster. At least one group claims there was at least one cloud seeding plane in the air in the time leading up to the storm. So who to believe?

        It was to show that some places are ahead of the need to make sure these events doen’t happen to them.
        
        It was also a dig at the allegedly unbiased newshub doing a story about a Republican state that passed legislation to stop this sort of disaster and newshub writing it up as conspiricy-mad Republicans.
        
        I wonder if they will do a story about the floods being an effect of cloud-seeding. Also to amend their first story.

  It is great that we will now, hopefully, get the whole truth about methane. If we do then the alleged “50% of NZ’s emissions come from farming” claim will be ripped up. Which then means our emissions magically drop by about 50%.
  
  Meanwhile, the NZ sheep industry is being wrecked by the widespread planting of pine trees as an offset to CO2 emissions.
  
  All of this has been ‘centrally planned’ of course. Another example of failed Global Boiling socialism.

  I wonder how long it will take for people to realise that warmer is better.
  If CO2 and methane are helping to make the planet a little bit warmer, this is a _good_ thing.
  Despite dire predictions from ‘experts’ about what will happen to the weather, IPCC tells us they’re unable to find any sort of trend in much of it, so I don’t see any great need to wreck our economy in a futile effort to stop the warming just yet.

  I refer to David Seymour’s opinion piece (NZ Herald, April 10) in which he criticised school students for taking time off to protest about climate change, saying they needed to stay in school to eventually advance more technological solutions.
  
  He couldn’t be more wrong. Climate change is here now, costing us billions, and technological solutions are also here now, waiting to be implemented.
  
  What is not here now is resolve on the part of the boomer generation to lead society into accepting the need for immediate action in the face of overwhelming evidence that we need to do so. It seems the easiest path for politicians to fan the populist view that we need to do nothing and ride the wave that results.
  
  These students should be in school but instead they, accurately, feel they are having to take action to persuade an irresponsible government to actually do something to implement change rather than just pretend they will do so.
  
  I feel these students should be congratulated rather than criticised.

  If they really wanted to hide unemployment they would have employed these people back in 2022 or so.
  
  By leaving this bubble of employment to just before the election they could:
  1) Remind people to vote for Labour because National will take away your shiny new job.

    I think it is worse than that. They thought this would be transformational.
    
    The previous government has employed and deployed many public servants into groups that act as think tanks. Operating something like A Shark Tank.
    
    Many of these individuals are now anxiously waiting to see if their decisions to transfer to these groups will backfire on them.
    
    I think most of these people rightly believe that they will be redeployed. The only problem is that redeployment is not always an efficient way to get good talent with experience that is required for these new roles.

  That might have been the effect but TBH I don’t think that the Ministers thought like that. They thought that they could fix every “problem” with vast amounts of money and the public service then did what they do. Spend it on more people.
  
  For a welcome change, I thought that was a good article. It highlights what I have been saying. There are real weaknesses in this 7.5 percent across the board approach to cutting. For example, the people who decide on the cuts are the very people who should be cut, the second tier executives being paid well over $400 k.
  
  What is needed is an exercise to match the numbers and skills of public servants with this government’s vision for the size and roles of government. Maybe this is planned, but it is as clear as mud right now.

      Being the public service, the “useless” people will actually be quite well qualified, otherwise they would n0t have been able to get in at all. It seems that many/most are relatively young and it will often be their first job out of university. Of course the actual job they were doing may not have added much value, but I wouldn’t just write the people off as useless.
      I imagine a number may go and get additional qualifications, especially teacher training. With a degree already and a reasonable redundancy, it would only take one additional year to get a postgraduate teaching certificate.
      The system will steer many of them into the frontline jobs. Others may leave for the private sector, both here and in Australia.

        Somehow the government functioned fine for 5.5 years, but they had to suddenly add an extra wave of thousands of staff just before the elections. They were clearly not brought on to bring skills to the table.

        ie. useless. Going to university does not give you skills and make you capable. It maybe teaches you to learn, but you still need time in the real workplace to actually learn. That is why most employers are not really interested in graduates, but are looking for staff with 5+ years of experience.
        
        Yes, that’s a harsh reality. But it is reality.
        
        This is especially true in jobs with high skill levels such as engineering. Getting a job in NZ as a graduate is extremely hard, but once you have a few years on your CV it is relatively easy. The bottom few rungs of the career ladder are missing.

        Having worked in a large and small Government agency over the last 6-7 years I can tell you compared to private sector, where I have also work many a year, that a large chunk of government employees are:
        
        1/ Over qualified with BA’s from Vic in nothing of use. They become Policy Analysts and produce dross directed by Senior Policy Analysts – see point 2;
        2/ Young and callow – have no real perspective beyond secondary school and Vic, hence why they are prone to think Government can fix everything and socialism is wonderful. Easy prey for the ideological Senior Policy Analysts who are driven by anti-freedom personal agendas; and
        3/ Would struggle to maintain the levels of productivity required in private sector companies.
        
        A lot of these youngsters are going to struggle to find work that pays anywhere near government scales – and suggesting they go teaching, do you hate children? What could be worse than a socialist leaning failed policy analyst teaching!!!

        During the Cindy years, the hospitals fired a lot of support staff. This was not helpful.
        
        In 2022 when I was in hospital for a brief period, they’d got rid of a lot of the nurse aids. Who cares right? They are not nurses.
        
        The problem then was that the already overworked nurses were now burdened with the lower-skilled jobs that the nurse aids had previously been doing (making beds etc).
        
        That put even more pressure on the already demoralised nurses and they were quitting in numbers never seen before.
        
        Likewise, the nurse management was being done by qualified nurses – a waste of training and such. Those roles should be performed by support staff – not technical staff.

        In my experience, the young policy analysts were among the smartest people in the public service. They tend to have degrees chock fill of “A’s”. Typically very good at writing and very good at analysis. I suspect the system will try and keep a fair few.
        
        Those who leave the public service are likely to go to finance and other analytical roles.

        Wayne I have worked with many such public servants and I cannot imagine any of them becoming teachers.
        
        Also if it is their first job out of university, their redundancy payout will be bugger all. Around 2 weeks pay for each year served. They are all going to need to find a job, not go back to university to do teacher training.

        The best advice for them is to gain experience. Mundane jobs in Aussies pay well but these jobs are mundane and one gains little experience doing this type of job.
        
        A good tertiary qualification is often a barrier to self improvement. A colleague used to say that he was jealous of his brother who did not get a tertiary education and could “afford “ to take risks that was not afforded him. (Always the victim..)

      Some of that hiring surge would have been in response to the previous government’s announced intention of % cost cuts.
      
      I would say there was panic stations as managers realised they needed contractors that could actually do the work those managers were accountable* for, so offered fixed term contracts. So contractors with permie entitlements, and end date (maybe) but less money in the hand (probably).
      
      How many converted to fixed term? That should not be difficult for Ministers to find out, and to then determine which managers were inadequate at hiring or development. And put them on a not-so-little list ….

  From the perspective of a public sector senior manager, in an environment wherein, according to numerous reports, it has been very hard to find qualified staff, the past strategy makes perfect sense. If the government gives you the money, hire lots of people in the hope that some of them will be worth the money. Now a different government says cut back. It puts all the pressure on the same managers to actually work out who and what are essential. Both actions represent dereliction of duty by government.
  
  There is just so much wrong here. A Senior Manager in the public service says that because the quality of the workforce is so cap, you need to hire more people! If this attitude is pervasive, it actually explains a lot about what’s been going on: They hire lots of people (tick). Most of those people are poor performers (tick). Those poor performers suck-up a disproportionate amount of time, meaning that overall delivery drops despite more people (tick).
  
  Seems to me to be an underlying issue: It’s not necessarily the workers who are the problem: it’s the “Senior Managers”. They can’t spot / hire good talent, they can’t get good performance out of people, they actually think that “more is always better” when it comes to staffing.

    * I am a manager in charge of 150 staff and a $30million budget. The department grew grew by 250% and we got a new building.

Hiring more is a lucrative exercise for a manager. It doesn’t even matter if the positions are vacant, it’s the “establishment “ that counts.

    The Public Sector knew National would when the 2023 election and prepared accordingly.

As usual central and local government officials are always weeks late with important announcements of groundbreaking ideas ,eg, obviously this statement was due for release on April 1st but was overlooked “a four lane highway between Auckland and Northland is urgently needed to promote business development in the Area” HA HA HA LOL, for gods sake the new (relatively) highway over the Brynderwyn hills is undergoing its 3rd reconditioning in about 20 years and some card thinks we can contract the same people to design and build a 4 lane highway over 140 km to Whangārei, it’s pathetically laughable but hey that’s NZs leadership in government for you , aim high and score low with a massive blowout in costs followed by a suspending of work indefinitely as we’ve seen on projects this year already .

  It appears a number of these governemnt organisations purposely went on a hireing spree so that they could drop a massive number of staff and still havemore people. Apparently Oranga Tamariki is ditching 447 jobs but in the last 6 months actually hired 456 (from memory) new staff. So the ‘massive’ job cuts reduce their staff to slightly more then just before the election.
  
  The other trick appears to advertise / or create empty positions for 150 odd jobs and they announce you are cutting 200 staff. When infact you are cutting the 50 staff and cancelling 150 empty positions.
  
  Feels like a smoke a mirrors and gives the msm and unions a big stick to bash the govt with.

  They were great jobs though, arrive at work (two days a week – WFH the rest), have breakfast and read the news, morning meeting with cultural song/prayer, check emails then go out for coffee and morning tea. Return to discuss the last or next weekend with colleagues before lunch break. The Role of Government in Media:

…as traditional companies collapse, the call is for Government to help somehow. But what can history tell us? The best thing Government has done so far is get out of the way. It has an infrastructure role that’s largely done.

Infrastructure includes supporting the build of a fibre network for the internet (done), and a system of radio spectrum auctions (also done). For the most part though, people are getting more information than ever thanks to better technology, not Government.

If people are happily getting what they want, and it’s not New Zealand channels anymore, what’s the problem? Right now, YouTube and Netflix dwarf the rest of the New Zealand media.

If New Zealanders don’t want to watch films and documentaries about New Zealand, or care much about watching media, should anyone care? We’ve never been better served with information, since the Government stopped blocking us from getting it.

The only remaining question is; what is the purpose of the quarter billion a year of taxpayers’ money spent on arts, media and culture now the Government has stopped blocking us from getting information and the internet has given us all the information in the world?

The full release is a great read and pretty pithy in parts.

The final paragraph there seems to suggest ACT would be keen to see NZ On Air and other such funds go the way of the moa. In recent times they’ve only served to promote an ideology that is divisive and critical of the regular Kiwis who pay taxes into those funds.

It’s clear ACT will not be supporting any proposal by Melissa Lee to prop up failing media, public or otherwise.

      You fail to understand the concept of marginal load.
      
      If you took away EV charging then that would cut electricity demand and they could shut down some of the coal burning generation.
      
      And adding more electrical demand immediately translates into burning more coal to generate that electricity. You don’t add 2% more coal.

        If you have a look at this information from Transpower you will see that as the power demand increases there are other sources that can be utilized besides coal fired generation
        Hydro, for example, is running at less than 50% capacity. Why we even need to burn any coal right now I don’t know.

        You are another one who doesn’t understand the difference between power and energy. The water coming down a river is energy. There is only so much of it. They ramp it up when needed, but they also need thermal to top up the generation. Ramp it up too early and you need to burn more coal (or even start Whirinaki) later on

I looked up the criminal charges facing the Netanyahus:

“Case 1000 alleges that Netanyahu, 74, and his wife, Sara, 65, have received lavish presents from prominent Israeli Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan and Australian billionaire businessman and Israeli citizen James Packer in return for political favours. This case charges the Israeli PM with fraud and breach of trust. Milchan testified that he provided gifts to Netanyahu in June 2020.

Case 2000 accuses Netanyahu of negotiating with Israel’s leading daily, Yedioth Ahronoth, for favourable coverage in exchange for legislation that would slow the growth of a rival newspaper. This case also charges him with fraud and breach of trust.

Case 4000 indicts Netanyahu for granting regulatory favours to Israel’s leading telecommunications company, Bezeq Telecom Israel, in return for positive coverage of him and his wife on a news website controlled by Bezeq’s former chairman, Besides fraud and breach of trust, Netanyahu has been charged with bribery in this case.”

I was surprised how relatively minor the charges are.

Judging this through the New Zealand “political lens”, they would probably have been given a very well catered for retirement and multiple honours!

Fast-track Approvals Bill
• … the Bill gives a much greater priority to the rights of iwi than to the rights of other New Zealanders. The word “iwi” appears 56 times in the Bill, and the proposed four-person panels by which projects are to be evaluated are to include one person nominated by the relevant local authority and one person nominated by the relevant iwi. This apparent equivalence between local authorities and iwi authorities seems to us totally inappropriate, and is likely to result in the concerns of Maori New Zealanders being given much greater weight than the concerns of other New Zealanders.

• … During the election campaign, both the ACT Party and the New Zealand First Party made much of their commitment to equal citizenship. In the coalition agreements which both parties signed with the National Party in the process of forming a Government, there were numerous quite specific promises to eliminate the racial preferences which have crept into New Zealand law in recent years. The National Party’s constitution includes a specific commitment to “equal citizenship”, and of course it too was a party to the two coalition agreements which enabled the formation of the new Government.

• Clearly, in approving any new investment project under this Fast-track Approvals Bill Ministers must be mindful of the property rights of those New Zealanders who could be affected by the new project. But this principle should surely apply to all New Zealanders, whatever their ethnicity. As drafted, the Bill fails to acknowledge that principle.

“Co-governance” means the non-Maori population portion must be multiplied by 0.6 to equal 50 percent and Maori by 3 to also be 50 percent. This gives Maori 5 times the voting rights of non-Maori.

Wasn’t the new Coalition Government going to fix that?
And that “they were here first”, is a kindergarten sand-pit argument.
And that “we have greater affinity with the land / water” is another.

Perhaps DPF would like to do an updated post on America’s NPR, because it turns out that the new CEO is … the most crazed commie they’ve yet had:

The daughter of wealthy parents whose wedding was announced in the New York Times, Maher grew up in a wealthy white suburb of New York City before studying at the American University in Cairo, the Institut français du Proche-Orient in Syria, and finally New York University.

She then got internships with the Council on Foreign Relations and Eurasia Group in London and Germany before landing a job in New York City at UNICEF. She had stops with the National Democratic Institute and the World Bank, among other global nonprofit groups, before rising to become the CEO of Wikimedia in 2019.

It would be impossible to create a resume of a person more disconnected from Americans and more intertwined with the wealthy, urban, globalist elite who run the largest banks, media companies, and nonprofit groups in the United States. In other words, Maher has the perfect resume to run NPR.

Or the WEF, which might be her next job. And the thing is that her public pronouncements are even worse than the resume above would imply:

She’s a vegetarian. She hates cars. And white men flying on planes. She supports race-based reparations, rioting, and the Black Lives Matter movement. She believes “America is addicted to white supremacy.”

She doesn’t want to become a mother because “the planet is literally burning.” She uses phrases such as “CIS white mobility privilege” unironically. She admits to growing up “feeling superior … because I was from New England and my part of the country didn’t have slaves.” I wonder what fuels her sense of superiority now.

TBF I agree with her not re-producing.

Saw a copy of The New Zealand Marxist Herald at the local cafe today. The front page actually screams ‘CLASS WARFARE’, while inside CTU Director of Policy Craig Renney / Rennie (why does his surname change almost daily) is given free reign to attack Nicola Willis under a headline screaming ‘Time running out for Govt to change direction’. The offensive cartoon by rabid Leftist Emmerson featured a dart being flown thrown a hole in the empty head of Simeon Brown, and the Editorial attacked a proposed Wellington tunnel as a pipe dream. Hearteningly there wasn’t much in the way of advertising in the paper, which seems to be rapidly shrinking in size, but I did make careful note of the few ads there were so I can avoid the advertisers products. The Taxpayers Union also had a full page ad in there defending tax cuts.

She showed the country with the firearms legislation and the lockdowns that the law could be whatever she decided it had to be so she could have done the same in this case. She chose not to and that directly cost innocent Kiwis blood and pain and trauma – and all the rest of us $$$ for the trailing-behind police who were also not available to track other criminals.   Some rams, such as Merino rams, have a large set of curled densely boned horns with sharp tips.
  They sometimes fight each other over access to ewes by using their horns. They will also try to bash down fences with them – depending on time of year (eg mating) feed availability and so on.
  Rams should not be regarded as pets any more than a horned bull would be.
  They are unpredictable, especially if on their own and cornered.

  Remember a sheep, especially a large ram, is a big lump of muscle and bone. They can get to over 100kg depending on breed and the feed they are on and can be very strong.
  
  When an animal that size decides to take you on, then can cause a lot of damage.
  
  On top of that, sheep are capable of jumping and running. I have had sheep jump right over me and I am 196cm (6ft 5 in the old money).
  
  In general we farm with docile breeds and genetics for this reason, but individual sheep can still get to be big and dangerous.
  
  Every year many farmers get badly hurt by cattle and lesser injuries from sheep. However it is very feasible that frail 80 year olds could quite easily get killed.

    CMM once knocked off your feet anyone could be killed buy a Ram that could be 150kg+. Once off your feet they will grind you up while on the ground and can add a bit of momentum by taking a few steps back to line you up to make sure they don’t miss. Even a heavy ewe can weigh around 100kg and four legs gives them way more traction than us.

Just back home. Amazing lunch down The Viaduct with a few of the girls.
Met a fab couple over here from London seated at the next table, so invited them
to join us. Turns out they’re expats and back here on business.
They seemed to have the inside running on what’s happening with the Royal Family. Among other things, (like Hazza renouncing his UK citizenship in favor of America)
they were telling us things are a lot more serious with Catherine’s cancer diagnosis than has been let on. A lot more.
I won’t go into extra detail at this time, but obviously a very worrying time for Willy & co.

…and for the trifecta (how can a Pak’n’Save car park allow enough momentum to build up that the driver has to go to hospital as well…?)

“A pedestrian has died after they were struck by a vehicle near Pak’nSave Taupō this afternoon.

“A police spokesperson confirmed the crash occurred “in the car park of a business premises” on Ruapehu St at 2.45pm.

“Police said the driver of the vehicle and two other pedestrians were transported to Taupō Hospital, with minor to moderate injuries.

Very sad for the pedestrian and family – not what anyone expects when they start their day 🙁

I just had an email from Don Brash/Hobson’s Choice about Facebook deleting posts.

“As I write this I still can’t believe this has happened to us. We hear of political interference happening overseas, but today Hobson’s Pledge has been the target.

Facebook has deleted all of our posts that sent supporters to submit on the Fast Track Approvals Bill including paid advertising we were running.”

“At first our team thought there must have been an error and attempted to post again. It became clear that anytime we used the link to the Government website to make a submission on the Bill, Facebook either blocked us or removed the post minutes after it went up.

As we were aware that the Māori Party were also promoting submitting on the Bill, we checked out one of their posts and found that there we could access the Government submissions page with no problem at all.”

Who has info on this or am I being scammed?
It looks like Political Interference with Facebook blocking links to the Govt websites.

Fill ya boots.
