Yet somehow this is worthy of a news article stating that this puts maori females at risk. From what I can tell, it’s because maoris appear to be less faithful to their partner as that’s the only reason the article gives as to why they are more at risk.

They arent, as the stats mirror the population Yet here we are gaslighting everyone and pretending that something else is worse for maoris than others when its not. So much so in fact, there is even a business setup specifically to look after maoris with hiv. No doubt taking millions a year from the government to do so.

Would like to see the books for “Toitū Te Ao”. Will be a few new Rangers in their I suspect…

  At what point will the race of Maori be declared as historical?
  It is now impossible for a full blooded Maori to be born, every child from here on will have less Maori dna than their parents.
  Would that be an adequate reason to also consign the treaty to history and move on as a population of individuals with the same rights and responsibilities?

    I get a bit tired of the Maori and pasifika bashing by do-gooder social services academics and organisations. There are any number of others in NZ that will have the same taboo about sexual health and HIV etc, and as a result get diagnosed late only when they have symptoms.

  HIV rates across the country are low. But they will be many many times higher for risk groups like homosexual men and iv drug users. So being on the average would probably put you many times higher than the average for most of the population.
  
  Having said that there is no increased risk to maori due to being genetically maori (a pretty dubious claim these days anyway). The risk is behavioural or in other words cultural. So what they are saying is there is a problem with their culture.

  I laughed at most of the article. Really it says nothing important, it just tries to complain that this affects Maori more than others when clearly that’s not true. Then it goes on to say the reason that this is the case is because sexually transmitted disease brings shame to Maori and it is something called ‘Tapu’ and you can t talk about it as a Maori. Give me a fucking break. Are they trying to tell us that drinking and taking drugs, and beating your wife and family (and also cheating on your wife) and spreading HIV is totally fine, but then oh no, we can’t talk about it as Māori because it’s shameful.     Submissions are usually 10 to 1 against any proposition as its easy for a group who is against to get membership to do a cut and paste submission but also there are a lot of oldies (dont get offended!) who will submit based on a single strand of a very complex argument.

      re the TPG I think you may be right but numbers will not be released to May – I have that from someone James Meager referred my query to in the Justice Dept.
      
      That is very strange because a simple numbers for and numbers against should have been available when counting finished weeks ago. They could then be qualified and dissected more for the May release.

    What concerns me is that nowhere is there discussion that is distinguished by any exchange of ideas.
    There is just a random bunch of assertions, true or false, and no debate, analysis, argument, consultation, deliberation or intelligent moderation.
    
    It is a helpful as Ardern’s great “national conversation” on Capital Gains Tax, where she didn’t even give her own Government’s start position, or Willie Jackson’s implementation of Ardern’s other “national conversation”, that on the response to He Puapua, or the “national conversation” on co-governance – where Maori elite were supposedly consulted, and a then 83 percent portion of the population, non-Maori public never were.
    
    It is disappointing the National Coalition so far follows in the footsteps of Ardern – national conversations where no one converses.

  The article mentions the 2021 Residency Visa for those here on various visas. IIRC a COVID related initiative.
  
  What many don’t realise is the scale of these residency grants. Over 100,000 applications, almost all approved, covering over 200,000 people. That’s massive for a small country, though it’s likely Australia will benefit considerably.

  This sort of thing is not new with INZ. I had friends at uni who after we had all graduated were put through the wringer by INZ staff who could barely string a sentence together in English.
  
  To me on the outside of this process, it seems to be that if you’ve got qualifications, work ethic, a job, and skills that would be beneficial to NZ, it is very difficult for you to get approval to stay, if you’ve got nothing to offer beyond a job in a liquor store or an ethnic restaurant then you get the welcome mat and can bring in roughly 50 of your closest family members who will be a massive drain on resources supplied by net taxpayers.

  Remarkable mother more like! Spent 5 years visiting NZ to set up education for her girls. Apparently they arrived on visitor’s visas so we’re unaware if NZ is paying for their education or their parents.
  There is no mention of the father moving to NZ, just the mother, a big red flag that they do not intend to stay in NZ.
  How were they able to enrol in high school in NZ on vistor’s visas? How is an 11 yr old on a visitor’s visa able to enrol in a NZ university?
  Why do they fear deportation when they have turned down far more prestigious university scholarships? Surely the world is their oyster?
  It’s hard to believe they spoke no English when their mother had been preparing the way with her visits to NZ for 5 yrs.
  Photos from their home (unclear if NZ or Vietnam) show them in large rooms surrounded by antiques, these gals don’t look to be struggling.
  If you are forcing your kids to live in a car and study under streetlamps you could just go home, even during Covid, you’re clearly not without financial resources.
  How old was Vicky when she was adopted? A baby or a 12 yr old, makes a difference.
  The mother wants to protect her own privacy while offering her girls none. She knows she has been, at least, sneaky and underhand and put her girls in an unenviable position.
  I would let the girls stay as residents, not citizens, in the full knowledge that as soon as they both get overseas offers that suit their parents, they will be gone. It’s not their fault that their parents are liars and we often let far worse in. The mother should be on the next plane.

  How about the Swiss referenda system so any policies not campaigned on or the changing of sacrosanct NZ laws and institutions are decided by NZers e.g.,
  – the curriculum,
  – the reserve Bank act,
  – laws differentiating between races,
  – democracy,
  – climate change,
  
  Referenda could finally put H1 and H2 out to pasture.

  Don’t know him at all. Had a listen, interesting and positive for us. Was surprised he says NZ has the highest birthrate in the western world and high compared to the better developing countries. So I looked this up. We’re 1.7 births per a Chris Hipkins woman. There’s a whole lot of other western countries around 1.7. He says we’re higher than Mexico, India and Turkey. No we’re not. Which either my source data is wrong or he is and his other assertions are then questionable.

    Many people have it. I see the left are going full retard now. They have moaned for years that there is too much waste and we are hurting the environment and that the solution is to pay loads of taxes so they can spend those taxes on things that don’t fix any problem. Now we have Elon Musk tearing apart government departments and eliminating waste (which is what the climate cult say they want). The leftie response is so ironic…….violence, burning peoples businesses (Tesla dealerships), and lighting electric cars on fire (the thing they claim will save the plant). There seem to be increasing rumours of ‘numbers being taken’ to topple Luxon….the latest I see is in an advertisement for an article in the Listener by Duncan Garner, suggesting just this.
Regardless of the veracity of these rumours, unless National re-visit their decision not to support Seymours referendum, any change in ‘jockeys’ will not improve their ratings much…in my opinon at least.!

      – they won the 2017 election in terms of popularity for a right of centre viewpoint

    As Winston First already pointed out , he made Luxon the PM ( as he did Ardern).
    
    What I find extraordinary is how te media has laregely skipped over that clear case of inter coaltion rivalry , yet had it been Seymour saying that it woukd be front page “news” for days on end.
    
    I get the feeling te media like the clown show the comedy duo Peters and Jones provides but know in their gut that Seymour is serious and therefore must be constantly undermined .

    The last Labour government was a coalition with Winston. The Greens only had ministers outside cabinet
    TPM & the Greens have nowhere else to go, unlike Winston last time. Labour have seen how disruptive the third parties have been in the current chaotic arrangement when they have too much power.
    There’s no way TPM will have representation in cabinet. It’ll be some sort of lesser arrangement

    They aren’t winning on the Economy. They haven’t cut the public service enough.
    
    They have made a mess with the school lunches. I know you will blame Seymour for that, but it is National that wasn’t prepared to roll any of it back. They should have said let’s fund it more efficiently but we will also review if it is the right approach and make a decision about its future later in our term.
    
    The Ethnostate may be lower down the order at the moment because people are still feeling badly off economically but it looks likely they will make a mess of rolling back Tikanga in the courts. If so this will become a bigger issue with a big public backlash.
    
    The problem we have is that they took a don’t spook the horses approach into the election and are continuing along the same vein now they are in power.
    
    Their biggest strength is we all have the ABL* mentality.

        Some of those who are ‘undocumented’ were children of immigrants. The immigrants came to NZ from UK and the Netherlands under immigration schemes and were given residency and hence had an almost automatic pathway to citizenship. However their kids who did need passports but were named as dependents in one of the parents’ passports were not granted residency due to immigration department ineptitude. And it is some of these people that Immigration has tried or is trying to deport.

It might well be true that the majority of overstayers are not PIs, but that would be because non-PIs arrive here in vastly greater numbers than PIs.

I wonder whether PIs who arrive here are statistically far more likely to overstay – hence the long-standing need for them to obtain visas first.

Anyway, that aside, it’s interesting that both Anne and the Greens fail to answer the simple question – how do New Zealanders benefit from according PIs visa-free travel here?

I see too that the Greens use emotional blackmail in their pitch for PI votes by referring to PIs as ‘Whanau’:

  The above is the same for anyone that has children. They’re adult playthings and time fillers. What parent doesn’t fill their day and mind with shopping for all the accoutrements for the kid’s bedroom, back yard toys, fun things and times they’re going to do and have, about carrying on their name, about the prospect of grandchildren. All selfish things. None necessarily or initially in the best interests of the child.

    Katy’s advocacy is about putting children first. Decisions made by adults impact on children and they have no say in them. So it doesn’t diminish her arguments when people provide examples where children are not being put first in other circumstances.
    
    She believes children have a right to a dna mother & father, a birth mother and a mother and father. These rights aren’t possible in many circumstances but are by design absolutely not met in Gay family.

    Hapuku – separation at birth would occur in many surrogacy situations. The baby has spent 9 months intimately acquainted with the biological mother and when separated experiences extremely high levels of cortisol – I presume this is due to separation anxiety. Not great for baby – mentally or developmentally.

  I do wonder about the ethics of a transactional purchase of a baby. In some parts of the world babies are stolen for such purposes. When Madeline McCann disappeared it was reported that thefts of young children were happening and blonde haired blue eyed children were in demand. Celebs were buying African babies at one time and it seemed some controversy in African mothers having their babies taken against their will.

High Court rules Kāinga Ora tenant needs to accept eviction after battle to stay in Ōtāhuhu property Herald yesterday.

Single tenant, 3 beddies state house. Four Tenancy Tribunal applications, 2 District Court and one High Court appeals, and $32,000 taxpayer money later just for external legal costs so drop in the bucket – tenant has gone. Probably to other social housing. Wonder if she paid her own legal fees, likely paid by taxpayers though.

Have to feel sorry for KO staff, this won’t be the worst case they deal with but possibly one of the more frustrating and expensive (to the taxpayer).

Noting December 2023 start of proceedings, maybe triggered by something that happened around that time?

Woke academics and the libby media seem to be campaigning hard to dissuade other countries from emulating Trump’s pushback against DEI.
Here the latest plug for corporate diversity by an Auckland Uni academic in The Malversation. The headline: “Diversity helps: a new study shows more women on boards can improve how businesses are managed”. “Improve” in what way, you might ask. Well, if you force yourself to read on, you’ll learn that putting more women on the board helps companies to be more woke (“an average 33% improvement in their ESG performance.”). Does it improve profitability? Bah, why would you ask such a frivolous question!

No mention of increased profitability in the article.

So DEI makes companies more woke. Well hallellujah! Who’da thunka! The Malversation’s tagline is “Academic rigour, journalistic flair”. I think “woke trash” would be more appropriate.

Four years ago a drug suspect was tortured to death by quite a senior Thai policeman known by the nickname Joe Ferrari, by having plastic bags placed over his head during interrogation until asphyxiation.
Unfortunately for the police the questioning was caught on cctv.
Joe Ferrari said he was trying to find out more info about other drug dealers. Others suggest he was eliciting a bribe of about $100,000NZ
Either way he was sentenced to death, commuted to life imprisonment
He was only a policeman, not a highly paid job, but he owned 47 cars including several Ferrari and lived in a flash Bangkok mansion
Yesterday he ‘died’ in his cell. Suicide according to corrections. Murder according to his family
Neither say the conspiracy theorists. He’s been spirited out of the country in the hearse.

It sure is dominating the news over here with reporters talking to everyone involved and cctv footage from everywhere except his cell.

I use a flouride toothpaste and don’t want to swallow fluoridated water. Your water consumption is highly variable so the amount of flouride you ingest depends on your water intake, not what is required to prevent tooth decay.

It is very difficult to be imprisoned in New Zealand. I can’t see councilors and the mayor of Whangarei going to prison because they refuse to flouridate Whangarei’s water supply.
