The Wikipedia vandal

Well let’s look at the evidence in order.

  1. This edit done to the Wikipedia page about me at 15:22 on 23 October 2007. As one can see that is to change the URL of the blog to nationalfront.org.nz – a group of neo-nazis whose activities I have opposed on multiple occasions – in fact one of their former leaders once had me on the list of most hated people, and another put up a photo of me with “juden” in blood red stamped on it. Considering what happened to my family at the hand of the Nazis, I can’t think of anything much more offensive than linking me to neo-nazis.  But even so, the worse thing is doing it by way of Wikipedia vandalism which helps destroy all the wonderful work done by so many volunteers there.
  2. The IP address of that edit was 146.171.16.7
  3. On 6 November 2007, two edits were done by 146.171.16.9,  again changing the blog URL, replacing it with links to my photo on Couch Surfing.
  4. The IP address 146.171.16.7 was used to comment on Kiwiblog at 15:48 on 23 October 2007 – just 26 minutes after the Wikipedia vandalism.  It also made a comment that day at 1.46 pm.
  5. That IP address (146.171.16.7) has had 300 comments made from it to Kiwiblog since 28 Sep 2007 – all from the same person.
  6. The IP address 146.171.16.9 was used to comment on Kiwiblog at 16:04 and 16:40 on 06 November 2007 – the Wikipedia vandalism was done at 16:27 and 16:29.
  7.  That IP address (146.171.16.7) has had 125 comments made from it to Kiwiblog since 25 Oct 2007 – all from the same person
  8. One particular person has also gone on several times previously about my couch surfing photo and seems obsessed by it – he has posted here and here.
  9. That same person is the same person as the person using both IP addresses here at the time the Wikipedia vandalism was done.  This removes pretty much any reasonable doubt.
  10. Sam Dixon is therefore indefinitely banned from Kiwiblog.  Not just for trying to link me to the neo-nazis of the National Front – but for doing by vandalising Wikipedia.
