SNL on Palin
September 22nd, 2008 at 12:00 pm by David FarrarSaturday Night Live did a very funny sketch of Sarah Palin with Hillary Clinton. Tina Fey looks and sound remarkably like Palin and is hilarious. The Clinton actress isn’t anywhere near as close a look, but is also bloody funny. Only five minutes and worth watching.
Oh and if you watch it and wonder what a FLURGE is, check here.

Yaaaaaawn. It’s not a patch on the spoof of the Barack Obama biography. The Yanks have a definition of humour that is much wider than mine.

I just rolled my eyes when I saw how much it favoured Clinton over Palin. Yeah, Clinton really has gravitas and experience, while Palin is just an airhead with a lipstick fixation. An even-handed approach would have been funnier. And how elitist to suggest there’s something WRONG with “Anyone! ANYONE! A-N-Y-O-N-E!” being able to be VP?

Not particularly funny. Jon Stewart is smarter and funnier. As for it being elitist to suggest there’s something wrong with anyone being VP, I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a VP. If you are looing for anyone and are happy with that good luck. I know when I go to the dentist or have a colonoscopy I’m more than satisfied if it’s just anyone doing the procedure. The more average they are, the more down to earth and just like me the better. This notion that we should be goverened by people with expertise beyond the average is just so ridiculous.

What will be really funny is watching the reaction of lefties when McCain is elected president with Sarah Palin standing right next to him. Four days later Hels is booted out of office. All of this good news will happen in less than seven weeks.

Thanks for parroting the precious spin from the McCain-Palin campaign (though you forgot to get the words “disrespectful” and “deference” in there), but did we watch the same sketch? Amy Pohler’s HRC came across as (to coin a phrase) somewhat bitter, robotic and so tightly-wound you expected her head to implode. The real joke has been watching McCain proxies losing their shit over a sketch on a satirical comedy show.
