WINZ emergency grants

December 21st, 2008 at 10:23 am by David Farrar

The HoS has the story of an WINZ emergency grant paid to reclaim a car, after the Police impounded it. This is despite the fact the owner had no legal license.

My thoughts are iceberg and tip.

I’m not surprised . Winz are a disgraceful organisation. After all, they give away much of the money I earn to drop-outs and dead-beats.

At school, they said those who stuff around, intimidate other students, and smoke drugs and steal would end up badly in life. Seems not, Winz looks after them quite nicely while they supplant their winz incomes with proceeds from crime.

Of course, some people genuinely need support and that’s ok. But, why should a family of dropkicks be able to have 10 children and whine poverty? The whole social welfare system has been perverted.

“At least the cops got it half right this week targeting Sth Auckland – (where they caught four times the average drink driver). Problem is many of them don’t have a licence to lose, and will pay the fine at $10 per week from the benefit – it means nothing to them.”

Yep, good old taxpayer still forking out for the community filth

How dare the HOS spoil their day.

These are not beneficiaries, they are entitleists.

They have a Helen given right to everything that they can claim or bludge, or steal from anybody they fancy.

They are the chosen ones, they are ‘Labour Supporters’

Special and immune from prosecution. Free roam the streets, mug, harass, and drink piss all day.

We will see if JK and his new team are able to cut this cancer from our society.

How can someone in need of a WINZ grant be driving a large 2007 Chrysler sedan? These go for $38000 to $50,000?
If you are so on the bones of your bum that you need state support, wouldn’t you sell that and replace it if necessary, with a vehicle in the $5000 range?

But seriously… until we return welfare to volutary charitible giving made by private people using their own judgement about who’s worthy to help and who isn’t nothing will change…

Look who the car belongs to and what happened when their house burned down.

Maybe they need another case manager who is only on the end of a phone and not at the local office.

He’s hit the nail on the head there.

I’ve seen a WINZ list of “essential” items that includes television

I hate to think what will come festering out of each govt department that National scratches the scab off.

Labour have sunk to new depths in my opinion for having tried to hide just how rotten a state we are in.

But, WINZ will not give travel assistance to fathers trying to access their children? Oh that’s right gummint departments are allowed to discriminate against middle aged white males. See you at the dole office bro.

Not really, this payment was not a grant – it was a loan, given under WINZ policies.WINZ is not required to check if the person needed the car due to illness, disability or employment. It doesn’t even check to see if the person owned the car or had a licence. It doesn’t check to see wither the car was registered or warranted – or even if the driver was drunk. Don’t blame the case manager for following legislation and policy – blame management for lying about their own procedures without rectifying anything.

Another sorry example of the welfare-dependent mentality of a (growing) sector of the population.

By the way, who said there is no underclass in New Zealand? How many more parasites, dead beats, and leeches is our economy capable of supporting? Enough is enough.

It’s just that the underclass isn’t the one most people think of. It’s not the (deserving?) poor, it’s us poor bastards who have to work to pay for all these useless pricks.

And nor should they!, it is MY fucking money these pricks are giving out and fathers have no right to my money just so they can see their kids, they could always try getting a fucking job and paying for it themselves.

I also find this comment infuriating, just where do you get the idea that you are entitled to MY money D4J?

You claim to be a right winger yet it seems to me that you are no better than the parasites who sit on their arse all day (Phool) vote Labour and march along to the WINZ office every week for more of my money.

I want the pricks at WINZ to discriminate, I want there to be a rigorous in depth interview before ANY of my money is given out, I have NO problem with the few genuine cases where people have fallen on bad times through no fault of their own but it must be reserved for the truly needy and it must be a temporary measure.

I was talking about trying to support fathers back into the community once released from prison so they can contribute to a meaningful, responsible and rewarding relationship with their often alienated children. Return to the work force not back to a life of crime. This would save the country millions and cut down the shameful recidivism rates but I wouldn’t expect a demented drop kick like yourself big bruv to ever understand such a common sense concept. Your money is best in your wallet or maybe or fat gob!

Dad4J I am all for fathers playing a role in their kids lives but there does come a point where some kids are better off without their fathers in their lives because of the negative influence on them. Don’t you think?

  20. dad4justice (7,339) Says:

    Hi Madeleine
Yes vulnerable children should be protected from dangerous men. I visit prisoners every week who regret their actions , however , when released without support mechanisms in place they fall to connect with their family much to the detriment of the kids. WINZ squanders money and so the cycle is never broken and little Johnny jumps on welfare as soon as he is eligible.
There must be a better way?
    Kind regards.

“I was talking about trying to support fathers back into the community once released from prison”

If that is what you are talking about then I am even less inclined to give any of my tax dollars to these men.

Why do you think that more of our tax dollars is the cure for recidivist crims D4J?, that is stupid socialist ideology.

If men choose to commit the crime then they must pay the consequences if that is alienation from their kids then so be it.

    D4J

You simply cannot grasp it can you, the reason people are in prison is because they have broken the law yet you seem to think that locking up crims is a bad thing.

We all get one chance in life and those who fuck it up should not expect the rest of us to pay any more than we already do for their mistake.

You really are beginning to sound like a socialist, the “system” is not to blame for people being incarcerated, if the bastards did not break the law then they would not be locked up in the first place.
