Barack Obama has become the most powerful man in the World, as president of the US.Black.

Lewis Hamilton won the F1 championship on points in his second season. Black

Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the world. Black

Will Smith is the highest paid actor in the World. Black

Now is a very good time to be black.

Michael Jackson must be kicking himself!

  2. big bruv (5671) Says:

Ha ha ha, that is brilliant Glutae.

  3. CraigM (633) Says:

The next 4 years in the USA with Barry in charge could look something like this, according to a former advisor to Bill Clinton.

Glad I’m not living there anymore.

Brendon Diamanti….what the hell did he do to deserve selection in the NZ Cricket team?

    Very good GM

  7. baxter (893) Says:

“Labour’s law and order spokesman, Clayton Cosgrove, said Corrections Minister Judith Collins needed to explain what she was doing about Hema – and other escapes.

However, a spokesman said she would not comment as his escape was considered an “operational matter”.

COSGROVE and his mates never did this when they were the Goverment…….That said he is right. COLLINS should not follow the invariable LIABOUR response. She needs to come out with a statement demanding explanations not waffle through spokepeople. Spokespeople are surplus to requirements…HEMA should never have been put in a position where he could walk away. Nothing will destroy the expectations of the voter than waffle weak avoidance such as this.

  8. Frank (320) Says:

Just days ago, the Obama administration announced plans to spend another $775 billion to $1 trillion on bailing out the troubled U.S. economy.

According to a study conducted by the San Francisco Chronicle, that brings the total bailout package up to $8.5 trillion (including the $700 billion Wall Street bailout… $600 billion to Fannie and Freddie… $168 billion in stimulus checks… the list goes on).

To put this into perspective, that’s more than the USspent on the New Deal ($500 billion)…

More than we spent on the invasion of Iraq ($597 billion)…

More than the entire lifetime budget of NASA ($851 billion)…

  9. Owen McShane (958) Says:

This is good stuff from Richard Epstein – A toxic mix of regulation and subsidy.
    He writes:
“One telling sign is the Obama program does not contain a single proposal to deregulate any area of health, education, real estate or labor, which would signal stability to potential investors at home and abroad. Instead there are scores of dubious gimmicks and subsidies in service of some national industrial policy that is likely to entrench the worst features of a command and control economy.”

  10. Michael M Wilson (55) Says:

Dick Morris is not a great friend of the Vlintons or the dems at the moment. As a fox contributor you have to take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Even the so called conservatives are Kensian in their economics so I am not sure how much he will actually change.

  11. big bruv (5671) Says:

Dick Morris has every reason to be pissed off with the Clinton’s and the left in general, however, it could be argued that he played a huge part in Hillary not getting the nomination, if that is the case then I would think that the ledger is square

  12. big bruv (5671) Says:

Will somebody remind me again why our pollies insist on trying to ingratiate themselves with Ratana every year?

What a waste of their time and our money.

  13. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

Funny thing is, when I see a face. I don’t see a colour.

Only the warmth of the eyes, or not as the case may be.

    Just try the test yourselves.

I was however, spooked by that young boy that grabbed the dogs nuts!

  14. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

    Went to Newcastle to-day.

    To be more precise, Gateshead.

The radio was full of the Govt. having to recruit so many extra bodies to deal with he redundancies.

Funny thing is when we doubled our turnover in 2004, the same team did the job.

    Funny that.

They have no idea about efficiency at all!

  15. Woodstein (13) Says:

    Fantastic GM…made my day!

  16. Brian Smaller (2527) Says:

A wierd religious cult, community of like-minded people, own shops, playing fields, community facilities and gardens. Ratana or Chapman?

  17. dad4justice (6103) Says:

First the Cooperites now the Chapmanites intend on polluting North Canterbury. Is Kookoo Kyle going to instruct his community about growing some hair and stop saying Oi Oi Oi. Wacko here we come. FFS what is this country coming too?

  18. joeAverage (311) Says:

nothing wrong in being a white honky

  19. dad4justice (6103) Says:

joe, I am proud to be a kiwi white honky. Just imagine Tama Iti and Kyle in the front row together. Yeah right. Neither would be tough enough for a flower show let alone a game of rugby. Both do weapons training on their fiddlesticks.

Portia – just blogged my thoughts on Trotter’s piece

Something strange is happening when a rabid leftie like Trotter compliments a Tory government!

  25. PhilBest (5012) Says:

Food for thought: the USA is perennially condemned by the soft Left all over the world for its racist past and present, YET, COMPARE the outcomes for racial minorities in the USA, with the outcomes for racial minorities anywhere else in the world, and what do we find? What are the chances of coloured faces at the top of government and bureaucracy and business and numerous professions in Germany, or France, or England, or anywhere BUT the USA?

Note the bloody hypocrisy involved in the soft lefties of all these nations being so demanding that the USA elect its first ever black president to bury the demons of its racist past, yada, yada, yada………

  26. John Ansell (487) Says:

“Glad I’m not living there anymore.”

It’s just freakin’ incredible the grip this Obamessiah guy has on people’s minds, given that this is NZ’s primary “Centre Right” site; the guy is the most rabid lefty, you couldn’t imagine a leftist like Biden or Sanders or Frank or Edwards or Kennedy or any of the other Democrat lefties in the USA who are not handsome black men having become President, yet criticise the Obamessiah or post a link to something critical of him even down here on NZ’s primary “Centre Right” site, and the negative karma points descend on one’s head……….

Here is Dick Morris’ NEXT column:

    “Beware Obama’s Trojan Horse”

    http://www.vote.com/mmp_printerfriendly.php?id=1346

It is not as if there hasn’t been a lot of stuff going back months before the election, to warn everybody, but everybody is so freakin’ spellbound, all that happens is that people get condemned for daring to raise the relevant issues, even in NZ. Even Trevor Loudon in NZ gets hammered by the Obama machine HQ itself, and no-one sticks up for him, except Redbaiter. What the heck has happened to everybody’s senses?

  28. PhilBest (5012) Says:

Sorry, this is a bit like Spamming, but I can’t resist posting this little book sales blurb:

    “Welcome to Obamaland”

“An unsparingly realistic yet upliftingly hilarious look at America’s future under Obama – by a man who’s already seen such horror

Let’s not mince words: The land we love has been hijacked by a bunch of left-liberal extremists. They don’t have much of an idea about how to fix the economy. But they do know exactly how to ruin your life. And they will. In Welcome to Obamaland: I Have Seen Your Future, and It Doesn’t Work, British author James Delingpole reveals how.

As Delingpole explains in his bitingly funny style, Tony Blair and the damage he did to Britain is just a preview of what President Obama and his policies will do to America. Welcome to Obamaland chronicles the hangover Britons woke up to after the decade-long rule of Blair, Britain’s own golden-throated leader. They, too, were whipped up into a political frenzy by a government that could do no wrong but still managed to waste years creating new national crises, and making old problems worse than ever before.

Welcome to Obamaland, the Socialist Paradise:

    * “UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE”: Socialized medicine that will cost billions and introduce unprecedented waste, incompetence, and malpractice to American hospitals.

    * “ENVIRONMENTAL CARE”: Climate-change hysteria and vastly expensive projects to conquer “global warming.” You’ll be made to feel anything less is un-American.

    * “MULTICULTURALISM”: An immigration policy based on the lie that not allowing anyone into the U.S. is racist and that open borders prove our love for multiculturalism.

    * “SOCIAL JUSTICE”: State-enforced “fairness” through policies that reward those who make no effort and punish the successful.

    * “ETHICAL FOREIGN POLICY”: A powerless national security policy created because the left refuses to believe the truth – that terrorists have a violent, and homicidal hatred for our culture and will do anything to wipe it off the Earth.

But take heart. Delingpole concludes with a number of reasons conservatives should feel consoled even as Obamamania sweeps the nation and the world. In Welcome to Obamaland, he provides conservatives with solid arguments and evidence to convince friends and coworkers who have drunk the Obama Kool-Aid to curb their enthusiasm…….”

  29. PhilBest (5012) Says:

    AND ANOTHER ONE………(sorry…!)

    “Bestselling Author Bernard Goldberg’s
    Blockbuster New Book!

From the day Barack Obama announced his candidacy to the moment he took the oath of office, the mainstream media fawned over him like love-struck school girls. Even worse, this time they went beyond media bias to media activism, says CBS veteran and #1 bestselling author Bernard Goldberg.

In his most provocative book yet, “A Slobbering Love Affair”, Goldberg shows how the mainstream media’s hopelessly one-sided coverage of President Obama has shredded America’s trust in journalism and endangered our free society.

Highlighting the media’s laughable coverage and shameless hypocrisy, Goldberg exposes how liberal reporters ignored important issues, focused on trivial matters, and attacked those who dared to question “The One.” Goldberg also argues that the media’s blatant disregard for their traditional role as the fourth estate and government watchdog has endangered America and eroded the notion of a free and fair press.

With his trademark blunt talk and his insider’s perspective, Goldberg reveals:

    * How the media ignored, downplayed, or sanitized Obama’s relationships with Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers

    * How the media viciously attacked Sarah Palin for irrelevant issues like her wardrobe, but coddled Obama on anything and everything

    * Why Obama’s election will make it more likely conservative talk radio—and conservative books—will be stifled by a new “Fairness Doctrine” that is anything but fair

    * How Obama’s supposedly “post-partisan” campaign kicked reporters off Obama’s plane after their newspapers endorsed McCain

    * BONUS: an exclusive interview with Rush Limbaugh on the unholy alliance between Obama and the mainstream media

A blistering takedown of the media’s slavish support for Obama, A Slobbering Love Affair shows how the mainstream media has not only surrendered its integrity and objectivity, but could even endanger our democracy……”

“So President Obama’s first action was to do Al Qaeda a favour.

    Anyone else find that ironic?”

Well, I for one expected ANY Democratic President to do Al Qaeda immediate favours in their eagerness to bash the Bush measures to protect the USA. “Party of Defeat” by David Horowitz and Dick Johnson, makes this point very strongly, and is a unique book that deserves to be better known. (It is of course ignored by the rabid Bush-hating media).

  31. Carole (7) Says:

Geert Wilders, Freedom Party politician in the Netherlands is to be prosecuted for ‘hate speech’ as a result of his video
‘Fitna’ and subsequent anti-Islam comments he has made. If you are interested please have a look at Gates of Vienna

  34. dad4justice (6103) Says:

Yes fuck the MSM, as the dark side has those scum in his back pocket. Hi fugley and sonic.

  35. Patrick Starr (3533) Says:

Does anyone else get that horrible feeling the innocent motorist shot on the motorway this afternoon was shot by police?

  36. dad4justice (6103) Says:

What the hell, not another police assassination! The victim wasn’t called Stephen by any chance. Hi Anton. How is your smoking gun?

  37. Southern Raider (1212) Says:

Have heard from down south that the Tuatapere rapist who pleaded guilty today in relation to nine charges against the Dutch tourists was …….. you guessed it only just been released from prison (apparently only 3 weeks ago).

The MSM seemed to have glossed over this point.

  38. Eisenhower (53) Says:

Does anyone else get that horrible feeling the innocent motorist shot on the motorway this afternoon was shot by police?

Yes, let’s speculate. The death of an innocent bystander by the Police would be unprecedented in our history. I suspect the tragic case of Jean Paul De Menezes in the UK and a number of Police-initiated shootings of innocents in the US will be reflected upon should the Police be responsible for this particular incident. The difference being although the victims in these overseas events were the principal participants and not bystanders – a very unusual situation

Although there will be considerable angst and hand wringing I’m not sure if there is any punitive repercussions a Police member could face. Homicide charges could be ruled out – no intent (against the victim). There are a couple of arms act breaches that could be considered. Sec 53 of the Arms Act relating to careless use of a firearm and “reckless disregard for the safety of others” may be an option although the exact details and proximity of the offender may counter this.

One thing is certain though – Keith Locke will be called on for an opinion.

  39. reid (3839) Says:

Does anyone else get that horrible feeling the innocent motorist shot on the motorway this afternoon was shot by police?

Yeh me as well Patrick, the One news report almost implied it, circumstantially.

Eisenhower, this is not a political issue, can’t understand why you’re trying to make it into one.

  40. reid (3839) Says:

So President Obama’s first action was to do Al Qaeda a favour. Anyone else find that ironic?

Well John I guess this is one of my rare points of disagreement with you. Guantanamo, which I assume you’re referring to, is a symbol.

The war on terror so far is a bit like the war on drugs: Ineffective propaganda, with emphasis on ineffective.

Who knows whether strip-searching old ladies and attractive females at airports has prevented a terrorist attack? Maybe so, maybe not. Happy for ACTUAL evidence one way or the other, if anyone has it. Didn’t stop Reid and his shoes though, did it? Scares the shit out of those of us who aren’t terrorists, doesn’t it. Politics of fear. Please please please protect us from the bogeymen.

Torture (waterboarding) is wrong, anytime, esp as a state policy. Torture used to happen under the radar, all the time, during the Cold War. Just not officially. Why did Bush et al need to make it into policy? Guaranteed to alienate the very hearts and minds you’re trying to win over. These days, no torture necessary to get info from bastards, using clever psychology. British proved that in WWII in interrogations of Germans. Some may have been tortured in vital circumstances, overall, story is, they didn’t. Why can’t US replicate that, 50 years later with far more tools at their disposal now?

    Counter-productive in every way.

Wish people would see that security starts with prevention and that Bush et al did almost everything they possibly could to negatively exacerbate the potential of real threat to the American people by encouraging hatred across all sectors. Was that wise or what?

Very possible that a large terrorist attack will occur shortly against a US target. This does not mean the above principle is wrong.

  41. Eisenhower (53) Says:

Eisenhower, this is not a political issue, can’t understand why you’re trying to make it into one.

Its hardly politicising it. The media have a tendency of requesting an opinion from Locke, or Peter Williams QC, when the cops ‘cap’ someone. They’re typically two of the few willing to castigate the Police even before the completion of any official investigation.

  42. reid (3839) Says:

Agree Eisenhower, I misinterpreted your 8:13, my apologies.

  43. grumpyoldhori (1113) Says:

PhilBest, yep I was looking forward to Bible Spice Palin as president, she was going to send a battalion of marines to Georgia to teach them russkies a lesson.
Hey, it might have worked with the Russians busy pissing themselves with laughter.

The women is an absolute fool in believing the USA could take Russia on in a country right next door to the bear.

  44. grumpyoldhori (1113) Says:

dad4justice , yep all horis are little fellows like Iti.
Play in the front row did you ?, loosehead, tighthead, hooker, or were you one of the few that could play both sides at a reasonable level ?

  45. wikiriwhis business (853) Says:

Joe Biden has already stated Obama’s mettle is going to be tested by a manufactured attack on US soil.

I believe Obama will hit back and hit back hard.

He has already shown his affinity with JFK by restricting the CIA involvement in Gitmo.

JFK wanted to disband the CIA altogether. He hit back in the Bay of Pigs and Obama will follow his lead.

  46. reid (3839) Says:

It’s not something the media wanted him to elaborate on strangely.

Don’t forget the Israeli involvement in Georgia as well, grumpy, which Putin gazumped.

Perhaps she didn’t believe it anyway – perhaps she was just saying what “someone” told her to say. She doesn’t strike me as an especially acute military analyst, but your mileage may vary.

  50. Patrick Starr (3533) Says:

    Eisenhower “Yes, let’s speculate.”
Yep. I’m speculating, but the cops don’t usually take this long to say who shot the who, when it’s an innocent victim.
I cant think of anything worse than a cop acting like a Wyatt Earp and not identifying his target. I just hope it’s not so – for his sake (and the victim)
IMO if anyone has a gun, and is shooting at people as this offender was – he’s fair game and should be shot at the first opportunity. And not wait until he grabs, or endangers a hostage

  51. reid (3839) Says:

Don’t know what happened, Patrick, but it sounds like it was a moving vehicle. It’s possible the AOS shooter didn’t realise there was a hostage in the car, but rather, thought they were all bad guys.

  52. grumpyoldhori (1113) Says:

Reid, any bugger who believes the Russians are soft should read about
the 1812 scrap with France and her puppets.
I could not believe my bloody ears when I heard her spouting that the USA had to confront Russia in Georgia.

Amusing how fast the Israelis decided that selling arms to Georgia may not have been such a good idea.
I wonder if that was when the Russians decided to send the latest anti air missiles to Iran ?
Still the Russians must be mellowing, i expected them to level Tbilski . (spelling)

  53. Patrick Starr (3533) Says:

I heard a eye witnesss on radio say 2 plain clothes ran around the side of the van and shot 3 times. Again speculating – had it been the offender shooting the victim he would have got shot by the cops – surely?
Like they dont stand there and watch a thug unload 3 rounds into an innocent victim?

  54. Banana Llama (705) Says:

“PhilBest, yep I was looking forward to Bible Spice Palin as president, she was going to send a battalion of marines to Georgia to teach them russkies a lesson.
Hey, it might have worked with the Russians busy pissing themselves with laughter”

I couldn’t believe it when i heard it, I wonder how the Americans would do staring down armored columns from the Russian Federation since they cannot guarantee air superiority to nuke anything that moves.

  55. reid (3839) Says:

“Reid, any bugger who believes the Russians are soft should read about…”

We’re on the same page, grumpy. IMO, the Russians are the best-lead hardest troops in the world.

The Israelis were after a base from which to attack Iran without mid-air refueling, a capacity which (for that operation) the US had denied them. That’s why they were in Georgia.

  56. wikiriwhis business (853) Says:

” Israelis were after a base from which to attack Iran without mid-air refueling.”

Iran is huge. An Iranian told me its people have no fear of being invaded, the country is just too big.

Israel could only make a little mess using conventionl weapons. Iran is practically a fortress.

  57. reid (3839) Says:

Tell that to the Israelis, wiki.

Edit: They don’t want to invade, they want to take it out as a nuclear threat.

  58. wikiriwhis business (853) Says:

    Ahh,

also referencing to Bush who did want to invade.

  59. reid (3839) Says:

Ahh, also referencing to Bush who did want to invade.

No, I don’t think the US or indeed even Bush himself ever really wanted to invade, wiki. The US knew the consequences. The Iran invasion propaganda is driven by Israel. Always was.

Some of the “Bush et al’s” were very keen on it as a result of their sycophantic Israel-first attitude, but IMO, the US defense and most of the political establishment including Bush himself, resisted such action to the end. Thank goodness.

  62. Redbaiter (9301) Says:

“Now the dust is beginning to settle, we begin to see exactly the effect I was predicting.”

When are you going to get a clue? You post a reference to a REUTERS article by ALISTAIR LYON and expect this to enhance your credibility?? You naivety astonishes me. Do you really not recognise the fact that Reuters is widely regarded as rabidly anti-Israel in its reporting on the Middle East, and that Mr. Lyon is similarly regarded??? With their credibility so questionable, why would any sane person think an article from these sources would be worth referencing here as a means of supporting any argument?? Utterly mystifying. Do you not exercise even minimal caution in testing the political allegiances of those whose words and ideas you are committed to??

  63. reid (3839) Says:

When are YOU going to get a clue, RB?

I don’t care whether an article is written by JC or Satan – if it’s true it’s true. Period.

Perhaps if you applied the same principles your analyses might improve.

  64. reid (3839) Says:

For those interested in China-US geopolitics, one major issue is of course the massive trillion plus US bond holdings that China has (and of course Japan also has a similar amount).

The issue is that this gives China (and Japan) the ability to manipulate the USD – to crash it, if it wants to. Of course this has a downside to China (and Japan) as well since it undermines its biggest customer. However as we all know, in geopolitics, there are usually deeper meanings beyond the merely superficial.

Has China (and Japan?) already sold? The bond price until recently was holding at a curiously inflated level (around 140 – it’s now 129) – If Uncle Sam’s been buying them – then why? Does not benefit the US taxpayer, at all. And who was selling?

Now we see this announcement from Obama’s new team.

Her legacy is a debt laden society and the enslavement of women into prostitution.

Oh and the dearest, oldest trainset in the world.

The negative list is endless. That is why NZ binned her in fine stylie!!

    hurrah

  69. Patrick Starr (3533) Says:

Helen Clark got 25% against people like Tindall. You being a greenie nome I would have thought that was an accomplishment?

Roger does that mean threequarters of NZ think she’s not ?
