Internet Party and social media

July 29th, 2014 at 2:00 pm by David Farrar

Matthew Beveridge blogs on two social media gaffes by the .

  1. Dotcom posting a joke about Batman killing a hooker
  2. The Internet Party a modified version of Picasso’s Guernica, which was about the bombing of the Spanish village by German and Italian planes, killing many civilians

Matthew has a collection of tweets in response, which are interesting.

This is not the first time by Dotcom. He actually tweeted some rape jokes a while back. Yet Laila Harre has no compunction about being his mouthpiece, while also condemning the “rape culture” in New Zealand.

“Dotcom made rape jokes and Laila has no compunction about being his mouthpiece”….I’m going to assume you didn’t mean that :D

I always thought the wheels would fall off the “Dotcom and Pathetic Associates” bandwagon eventually, and it looks as if the deterioration and collapse of any political ambitions he may have had are beginning to gain traction.

After all, amusing though ol’ Dotcom may be to some – with his bizarre persona and ridiculous political ambitions – (which some of us, self included, always thought were just a try-on) – his likely quantifiable impact on the political future of this country I place at a little less than zero.

So its ‘Sayonara’ to you, big German person – its been amusing and interesting to have you around, but your day is, I fear, just about done!

    See mine at 2.42.

Actually, of course, I should have said: ” So its ‘Auf weidersehen’ to you, big German person……” (NOT ‘Sayonara”)

Apologies to anyone who read that post>

Does anyone even understand the kill hooker “joke”? It seems to be all offence and no joke.

Batman aka Bruce Wayne has absentmindedly revealed his true identity to a hooker. This is the crux of the joke, and the fact that Batman visits hookers might also be cause for slight amusement. Pretty obvious, I would have thought.

Given Laila Harre’s principles, I thought a joke involving a whore was on point.

Making a joke about Batman killing a hooker is a gaffe?

What fresh politically-correct hell is this?

Subtly, I think her intent is to nail him to the wall, if I read her comments correctly. Each is a two-edged sword.

Hang on – the joke didn’t say anything about Batman raping the hooker before killing her. Still, awesome to see that the author and readers of Kiwiblog can become enthusiasts for the dreaded “political correctness gone mad,” even if it’s only as long as it’s directed at a politician they don’t like.

Rather than feigning outrage at a couple of dotcom’s innocuous jokes, DPF, might I suggest that you’d be better advised to examine some of the more obscene, threatening and racist comments recently posted to your blog by anonymous cowards?

Dote Com and Martyr Harre have announced a fillum based on their lives will be produced by one and not two Peter Jackson. To save disputes over copyrights they are to play themselves. Hone Harawira is to play no small part but will act as the gaffer.
