More on drinking age

I’ve been reflecting more on the drinking age issue. As most people know, I am good mates with Miss Ten. As mates we grab dinner semi-regularly at various fine dining estabishments in Wellington.

As we are both fans of nice red wines, we normally have a couple of glasses of wine, with our meal.

Now this activity will become illegal, if the ‘drinking’ age is raised to 20, as Anna is only 19 (actually I swear she is 30, but her birth certificate claims 1986).

So Anna is deemed mature enough to live away from home, to study law, to hold a full-time job, to drive her car, to travel through Europe and US by herself for several months, but it will be illegal for her to have a glass of wine in a reastaurant.

Also when we have blogger get togethers in the Backbencher, all the 18 and 19 year old bloggers will be banned from attending.
