172 km/hr

In this thread, I was accussed of adding 40 km/hr onto the PM’s speed for saying the convoy reached speeds of 180 km/hr.

But the driver has said he travelled at speeds of 160 to 180 km/hr and the prosecution has said there is evidence of 172 km/hr speed.

Perhaps one day people will stop accusing me of making things up.

UPDATE: Interesting article in Stuff on this, which states that the PM’s press secretary is alleged to have said “They needed to make the 4.50 flight”.

If this is correct, I think the prosecution of the officers is very misguided. They should have been reprimanded and the guidelines changed. But charging them for doing their job has always to me seemed an over-reaction.
