Arts Subsidies

The Dominion Post has done a short article quoting Tyler Cowen who spoke at the Sir Ron Trotter dinner last week.

Tyler didn’t say there was no case for government subsidies to the arts (which disappointed a few there) but that generally such cases are over-stated and self-serving.

I certainly have an issue with the fact I pay more towards someone to attend the NZSO, than they pay themselves.
