Majority rule in Parliament

Peter Luiten in the NZ Herald advocates that votes in Parliament should require a two-thirds majority to pass into law.

A nice idea in theory, but pretty impractical. I doubt any Government could ever get a budget passed.

If the law was ever changed that way, I’d sure like to be part of the Government immediately prior to that. All your reforms would be basically irreversible.
