New Chief of Defence
Not that my view counts, but I approve of the appointment of Major General Jerry Mateparae as the new Chief of the NZ Defence Force. I have a few contacts in the military and he is held in very high regard.
I’ve even met him (at a funeral!) and comes across very down to earth. Far less terrorising that the senior military officer’s whose daughter I once dated but that was probably situational đŸ™‚
Air Marshal Bruce Ferguson deserves credit also for largely bringing to an end the attacks the different service chiefs used to make against each other. Far less infighting now which is good.
