Telecom line rentals up

Telecom has announced line rentals are going up. A home line in Wgtn and Chch goes from $34.80 to $36.00 and for the rest of the country from $42.20 to $43.60.want

At some stage this year Naked DSL should become available which will allow people get get a broadband connection without also having to have a phone connection. The more phone line prices go up, the more will want Naked DSL.

I certainly receive 98% of my phone calls on my mobiles. I’d keep a home line for business reasons, but a lot of under 40s won’t be I reckon.
