Went to a nice breakfast yesterday to mark the relaunching of Synergy IT as Fronde. Consultus kindly invited me along.

The breakfast was great fun as they had a debate on whether we would all be better off if all companies were run by IT people. Willie Jackson as compere just insulted everyone with good humour. The debaters were Tom Scott, Phil Lewin and a former NZ Post CIO for the affirmative and on the negative Forysth Thompson from Fairfax, Rowan from Trade Me and Alick Shaw.

I wouldn’t do justice to try and summarise a humourous debate, but one line which stuck with me was the one from the former NZ Post CIO about what do you do if an IT projects fails. The answer is “Call it Phase I” 🙂
