WCC goes mobile

The Dom Post reports that the Wgtn City Council is going mobile in a big way. Over 90% of their 1,350 staff will have mobile phones only.

This is the way of the future. I recall at Parliament that almost all staff had cellphones and almost everyone had their landline set to divert to their cellphones after a few rings so in reality one could have cut out the landlines all together for most people.

The key reason to have a landline is so people can call it locally at non toll rates. But one can still arrange to have a “nomal’ phone number for your cellphone without needing the entrie cost of a landline.
