Bosses Pay

A NZ Herald article on Tubepack, and how the high exchange rate is threatening the viability of the business. They note the business owners have stopped paying themselves wages to try and keep the company afloat.

This is not unusual in small and medium sized businesses. I know of one business which went through tough times and the highly experienced and skilled owners were paid less than the receptionist.

Some people just focus on the rewards some business owners get from their business, and want to punish tax them for it. But risk is the slip side of reward, and it is not insignificant.
