ive heard from a few people now that the guy that cut the power is Samoan.

is this why the media havent tracked him down? im sure if he was blonde haired/blue eyed he would have been crucified by now.

guess its hard to play the race card if its a samoan guy that actually cut the power?

If either of those stories are “…journalists rising from their slumber…” what do they do the other days of the year? Is journalism another form of State Welfare? Even Fran O’Sullivan hasn’t gotten off her arse and extended her ideas with fact.

Opinion. It’s all baseless opinion.

We have a vocal minority of emotional socialists who are stuck in a delayed adolescence dictating what and how investigations are carried out. Then they go on to recommend change to laws and regulations to suit their irrational outlook. The media follows these barely literate morons like they are celebrities speaking gospel.

Rational NZders stay silent – and no one in the media is seeking to know what they might say.

The insane Socialist PM dances in the limelight.

Does this bother no one but me?

Horace I am mortified , I just heard on the wireless that the PM is at the funeral with flowers in her hair thinking oh my I wish I was dancing in San Franciso ?

We can all be hero’s for just one day !!

S.151 Duty to provide the necessaries of life.

The family had the responsibility of supplying Folole Muliaga with the necessaries of life after the hospital released her to their care.

After power was cut off this obligation was even greater, and needed actioning.

The guy Sheehan who is doing their PR is a union troublemaker. He knows how to make a lot of noise and stir things up, but not constructively.

The accusation of racism against the police appears unreasonable, and a typical bit of left wing stirring. The protests against “Murder Energy” were all stirred up by left wing union activists.

It’s a bit rich that having accused the police of bias in saying they would not lay charges because of the lady’s serious illness, now they want the police to stop investigations.

Frank are you the former sonic? I think so, anyway the ” vulnerable” are already adequately protected under the articles, rights and provisions under the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and NZ Bill of Rights Act 1990. How it ever got to be a police matter and now a political liarbore tool is beyond belief?

John Armstrong in today’s NZ Herald also offers a decent summary too, noting that SOEs are “political tranvestites” having to be bothe commercial and socially responsible.

And he ends-

” the SOE model has worked pretty well over the past 20 years without ministers interfering and trying to come up with catch-all definitions of what is “socially responsible” which could cover the whole gamut of SOEs.

“But the contradiction remains. Given they are expected to act like private firms, SOEs not surprisingly have assumed they should behave like ones. It is a bit rich to cry foul after the event when nothing was done to disabuse them of that notion.”

While I largely agree with O’Sullivan, I’ve got to admit it would have been nice if she’d had the integrity (and the courage) to note that The Herald itself has been entirely complicit in what she calls “the ruthless campaign against Mighty River Power personnel that is being waged by a ‘spokesman for the family’.”

But I guess that would be biting the hand that signs your pay cheque, wouldn’t it? OTOH, I’d hardly blame her for not reading the paper her own by-line appears in.

This Muliaga family has conned the whole country and every socialist suckers (even the PM) out there are falling into it. They should have waited for the coroners report before blaming Mercury Energy. But the family thru loudmouth Sheehan knows how to stir up leftist sympathizers , by pointing fingers at Mercury Energy. They got $10,000 out of Mercury Energy (some sort of indirect blackmail) plus heaps of donations from other suckers.

I used to be a customer or Metrowater and am now a customer of United Water. The later give service

Yes, Meridian just gave the government a billion dollar dividend. Ever since the days of Muldoon, “special” dividends have been paid by Crown companies to the government. The costs are then being recovered from user charges increases etc.

Labour wrings its hands in public but privately pockets the dividend payments with barely a whisper. Hence the fuss over Solid Energy, a major source of government revenue, likewise the power companies.

Also the fuss over Metrowater is the ACC asking them for more money which is a hidden rate that they don’t have to consult the public on. Likewise the Christchurch City Council resolved this year to hold down the rates by seeking more money from its LATES.

Someone needs to tell these socialists that money doesn’t grow on trees.

Off topic but someone just mentioned CCC and I am livid as they have been given big back handers ( lots of $$$$$$) from the boys who pull tits for a living , as H2O is becoming big time worry ,my fishing holes have dried up Minister , but commie shrill puppet Garry Moore will drill us a big bore well and we’ll all be happy clappy ducks that go quack , whack . What a nutbar country !!!
