Queen’s Birthday Honours

The top honour goes to The Right Honourable Sir Kenneth Keith, who is made one of 19 members of the Order of New Zealand. Sir Kenneth is recognised internationally for his work in the legal field – especially in international humanitarian law. When I worked at Red Cross, he was a special advisor to NZ Red Cross, and was an expert of the Geneva Conventions etc,

Five people get what used to be called Knighthoods and Damehoods. They are:

Dr Patricia Grace, a prominent Maori author for services to literature.

Alison Quentin-Baxter, for services to the law.

Stephen Tindall, of Warehouse fame for services to business and the community.

Henry van der Heyden, Chairman of Fonterra or services to agriculture.

Honourable Justice William Young, President of the Court Appeal of New Zealand.
