When Ian Templeton first started reporting in the press gallery:

Holyoake was yet to become Prime Minister
Decimal currency was a decade away
Muldoon was yet to even become an MP
Winston Churchill has only recently retired as UK PM
Singapore was not yet independent
Scott Adams was born that year

So congratulations to Ian on his 50th anniversary in the gallery. A record that will probably never be beaten. Ian still has a weekly interview wih both the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader and writes for Trans-Tasman.
