November Kiwiblog Stats

A few observations:

Traffic used to drop away at 5 pm. But now it stays strong until around 10 pm. Midday to 1 pm is marginally busiest with over 50,000 page views. But by 9 pm it is still running at 70% of peak time. Slowest time is 3am to 6 am with only 10,000 page views per hour (being the total for the month). So that is still 300 page views an hour at 3 am! Must be the foreigners.

Now we come to most frequent visitors. And I did something extra this month. I did IP searches with APNIC, RIPE and on the comments database to see who are the most frequent types of visitors. In the past I have published the ones whose servers carry their own name (like most Govt Depts) but people may enjoy who makes up the current top ten:

  1. Parliament (1,000 people) – 7,731 visits
  2. A large computer firm (hundreds of staff) – 4,296 visits
  3. A large PR/Consulting firm (150+ staff) – 3,786 visits
  4. A tertiary institute (5,000+ students) – 3,651 visits
  5. A non profit organisation – 3,479 visits
  6. A US university – 2,678 visits
  7. A Govt Dept – 1,847 visits
