.Asia launch

On Monday night we were all invited to a party to celebrate the launch of a new top level domain – dot asia or .asia more formally.

The main singer is quite well known in Bollywood. She has also appeared in a couple of films.

To the left of the presenter are the CEO of .asia – Edmon Chung, ICANN Chair Peter Dengate-Thrush, ICANN CEO Paul Twomey and Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev.  Sorry for low quality of photos but they were done on blackberry instead of normal camera.

A couple more photos of the entertainment. They put on an excellent show.

It was a damn good night and a fun way to launch a new top level domain.  I quipped that it was definitely more fun that the launch of .museum 🙂
