Tristam at Salient blogs that ize is not just an American variant where you have organize instead of organise but that the Oxford English Dictionary states ize is the more traditional form also.  I’ve actually known this for several years thanks to my friend David Harris, who used to correct InternetNZ documents when they used ise.  I am inconsistent with what version I use.

Poneke has a post on the ridiculously longs hours Ministers and MPs work, and calls for a reduction so we don’t lose more MPs like Katherine Rich.  I agree in principle but not sure how one can do it without seriously reducing the number of hours for passing laws and select committees.
