Pacific Party
Taito Phillip Field has applied to register his Christian and family values based Pacific Party. This area is getting pretty crowded. I thought that the demise of Christian Heritage would clear things up, but the field is getting crowded. Who do we have:
- United Future – not very united now, and has lost the mob that made up the Future part. Peter Dunne has always stated his party is not a Christian party (and now the Christian wing has defected this is basically correct), but they are still probably competing to some degree for the family values voters.
- The Family Party – Destiny in drag. Think of a Christian version of sharia law 🙂
- The Kiwi Party – basically the breakaway faction from United Future – former Christian Democrats
- Pacific Party – Taito Philip Field’s enterprise – we can expect them to at least have a novel policy for housing affordability – have grateful migrants work for free on your houses!
That’s a lot of parties competing for 7% or so. Dunne will be back, but uncertain whether he will even have a second MP.
