Well, least readers know now who they’re speaking for when they use that annoying “we”. The approx 600,000 odd citizens who voted for Labour as opposed to the roughly 3,400,000 who didn’t.

What a bunch of sour, humourless husks you lot seem to be in the main. I know that Helen Clark and her Liarbour cronies sucked your will to live by stealing all your hard-earned tax dollars and forcing you to support layabouts and everything else that makes your life so miserable, but you’d think the election result would inject a little bit of happiness into your apparently otherwise bleak existences.

Goddamn. I am honestly aghast at the fact that almost none of you regular posters can muster an ounce of goodwill towards the Labour Party. Sad-acts, really.

I couldn’t agree more expat. I read the story and had a laugh at first but on thinking about it when did Labour have a monopoly on caring for the less fortunate. Why do they feel they have the right to tell outright lies about the incoming government.

This has been the nastiest election I have witnesed and I put it down to Helen Clark alone. As Prime Minister she set the tone for her party’s behaviour and obviously felt the gutter was fine.

DPF is there any chance John Key can come out and say to the public the bully boy nasty tactics in Parliament end with this new government. I seem to remember Bolger wouldn’t allow this behaviour in the house and things seemed to be alot more civilised.

Hey MrHappy, I can’t speak for others but personally I muster about as much goodwill toward the Liarbore Party as Hulun, Cullen and the rest of them mustered towards the conservatives over their entire time in govt. Starting with Cullen’s ungracious and unnecessary “we won, you lost, eat that,” this administration has launched a litany of cancerous and corrosive comments against incredibly decent and good people who happen to believe in conservative philosophies. I’d put Brash’s humanity up against Hulun’s any day of the week, English’s up against Cullen’s, Brownlee’s up against Goff’s, Collins’ up against Cunliffe’s and so forth.

Sad-acts? Look in the mirror.

What a fine example of the mis-information that had become the trademark of this outgoing (thankfully) Labour Government. They were relying on the stupidity of enough of the electorate to actually believe the bullshit.

When the Key administration gets busy, I hope they start by looking at how many communication directors there are and see how many are superfluous to requirements.

Yeah, but, Murray there are some pretty vulnerable people out there that Labour have scared out of all reason, people who are metally disabled, mentally ill or just plain desperate. Those people should receive our help, thats what the social welfare safety net is for. I’m just livid that some socialist journo has painted the picture so badly.

AND

It is time for the right voters to get into the local community boards, school boards, health boards, PTA’s and the like to make sure OUR vision is played out as it should be in OUR community.

When I retern to NZ at the end of next year, I will be signing up for all of the local boards and groups I can.

Reason – I have seen the damage the left have done to our communities by stacking boards with their idealogues and bad judgement.

You want to make a difference – get out there and put the hours in.

I would feel a lot better if Labour hadn’t stolen somewhere between 30 and 40K off me in excess tax over the last nine years. I could have paid the mortgage off with that money.

I don’t think I have said anything hostile to the defeated Labour party, and have been willing to acknowledge (at least) the political acumen of HC. The reality however, is I don’t come here to indulge in a ‘group-hug and make-up’ session with Labour supporters.

The reality for our household, is that we have been made purposely worse-off by Labour through its higher taxes. And being unlucky enough to have been just ahead of welfare cut-offs has out us firmly in that unlucky income zone- high enough for 39% tax, never quite low enough to get any benefits.
