bharmer, did you catch the Enron film currently doing the rounds on the History channel, It’s a must see. These guys where big on flogging off power at spot prices, I also note these crooks were very keen on carbon credit trading. I do hope those that are wishing to impose a carbon taxation scheme on the productive sector on this country take in a screening. Yeah, money for nothing.

Inventory2 – yeah I saw it, then switched over to CI where Ross Kemp was doing a doco on gangs in South Africa. You’re right, just watching those two gives you the impression the country is completely out of control.
Interesting comment made by the coloureds on the Kemp doco – they’ve moved from being 2nd tier citizens under apartheid – to being third tier under the ANC

We live in tough economic times, given that one would hope that WINZ are keeping a careful eye on how they spend our tax payer dollars.

Sadly that is not the case, I have just heard an incredible story, a local family (losers and bludgers) are having their car repaired (tyres and suspension bushes) at a local garage, the cost is roughly $400, the sad thing about this is that WINZ are paying.

When will the fucking Nat’s do something about this crap?, I do not want my money wasted on things like this, it is time to get tough on welfare bludgers.

That Johannesburg programme; 33 years and one month ago I lived in Hillbrow.
The programme blew me away. I used to walk the streets of that suburb with a belly full of piss late at night. No worries.
I just get the impression that the demise of apartheid has done little for the common black but has been unbelievably wonderful for the black aristocracy.
Similarly, I see these Waitangi settlements doing nothing for the common Maori but being unbelievably wonderful for the Maori aristocracy.
The one time the apartheid system was rammed down my throat; we were going 250 km to Western Transvaal and I told the driver that I would shout him a beer and a pie. We could not do that as I was not allowed in any bar that he was allowed to patronise. That’s when I thought that their system was stuffed up.
Programmes such as that point out why we have so many immigrants from Suid Afrika. I may have missed it but I did not hear any Afrikaans spoken in that programme.

This general debate is a little old, but, I need a little advice.

I have a tenancy tribunal court order against someone , and this person now owes me a little over 4 grand. (having caused untold grief and damage in the process).

However, they have ‘disappeared’. The courts are not interested in helping out with finding this persons address, and the police cannot help either. Even though this person is purposefully evading a lawful court order.

How is it possible to find someones address? From what I can tell, the only way is to hire someone with access to unlawful sources. But, I don’t really want to do that.

The courts are pathetic. They make decisions but give little help with recovery. So much for justice.

Ryan is correct, most debt collectors have ways and means, although they won’t spend money to find someone if the process gets too difficult.

A good PI will find them pretty easily in usual circumstances. Most everyone leaves a trail it just depends how much money you want to throw at it.

I have no details. The womans phone is disconnected, she was using her childrens mobiles now I think. The number i got was then disconnected too.

The thing that really annoys me, is that the information has to be obtained illegally. I’m sure the debt collectors methods are not legal. It’ll be an inside informant with the police/IRD/Telecom etc.
