Maybe it will be world tea party control.

For conservatives, a political surge
The energized “tea party” movement, which upended this year’s political debate with noisy anti-government protests, is preparing to shake up the 2010 elections by channeling money and supporters to conservative candidates set to challenge both Democrats and Republicans.

Buoyed by their success in capsizing a moderate Republican candidate this fall in Upstate New York???

….political experts in both parties say it is unclear if the movement can become the kind of unified force that can win, and not just disrupt, elections.

The tea party movement is splintered into hundreds of local and state-level groups that have differing rules and goals and for the most part have not participated in big-money politics. Many of the groups have been torn apart by personal feuds in recent months; one major umbrella organization, the Tea Party Patriots, has filed a lawsuit against a founding board member who signed on with a rival, the Tea Party Express.

Publicly, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele and other GOP leaders praise the tea party movement as a crucial component of the party’s base that will help Republicans make substantial gains in 2010. But the push from the right has also worsened infighting over the GOP’s course.

But many conservative activists see the outcome as a demonstration of the power of grass-roots activism. “Conservatives keep saying that nobody is listening to us, and the way to get people to listen to you is to elect more conservatives,” said Erickson, who advocates boycotting Cornyn’s NRSC and has called “beating the Republican establishment” the top priority for 2010.

So can it become a unified force or a fragmented spoiler? Which presumably would spoil GOP chances more than anything.

Redbaiter holds out big hopes for the US being a dress rehearsal for NZ’s “grass roots” revolution. I really don’t see it happening here.

Where was the ‘news’ in all this?

What is the news in the “News” these days, fullstop. Some of their film footage can be ok, but the general content is crap.

In order to profer a global solution you need a global crisis. Therefore AGW had to be created. It’s great because it requires compulsion (and therefore force) in order to be succesfully “defeated” or “solved”, it’s perfect because by its very nature it transcends national boundaries, it’s ideal because you cant see it or touch it or even know if “it” has been beaten, it’s sufficiently complex that the average Joe wont ever get to grips with it but you can illustrate it simply enough for children to understand (hurting the planet is bad….).

Just imagine what it will be like, maybe another fifty years for this conspiracy to grow legs. The centipede conspiracy.
Centipedes might be extinct by then.

Most “big” conspiracies are usually after the fact – JFK, moon, Sector whatever, 9-11, birth certificate. This is different, it has time to grow and adapt to more unknowns than knowns maybe for a lifetime.

An unusual fan of Obama’s Nobel speech:

Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker, said the president’s message in Oslo “was actually very good.”

The deeply conservative Gingrich said the liberal Obama acknowledged he was “given the prize prematurely” but wisely reminded the Nobel committee “they wouldn’t be able to have a peace prize, without having force. … I thought in some ways it’s a very historic speech.”

Q: Where would the world be without useful idiots?

A: No fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan. Western world not swamped by cheap Afghan heroin. Not in financial trouble. Not swamped by P.C. psychobabble bullshit. Ignoring foolish politicians and useful idiot scientists who pretend that plant food is poisonous and the Sun has nothing to do with cyclical climate variation. Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41, Blair, Putin, Sarkozy and various administration colleagues all have long prison sentences for crimes against humanity. Iran has been peacefully co-operating with Israel for some years on various nuclear and defence technologies. Feminism has been exposed, the marriage rate has increased, divorce rate has dropped and young ladies have stopped pretending they need to behave as young men do because they’re built differently and celebrate the difference instead of trying to hide it.

The list goes on.

Unfortunately, useful idiocy is rather rampant. Wish it weren’t.

Even the banking boffins are calling for a new world body.

Simon Linnett, Executive Vice-Chairman of Rothschild, has called for a new international body, the World Environment Agency, to regulate carbon trading.

In a recently published paper, Trading Emissions, for the Social Market Foundation, Mr Linnett argues that the International problem of climate change demands an international solution.

Unless governments cede some of their sovereignty to a new world body, he says, a global carbon trading scheme cannot be enforced and regulated.

Why keep calling this a conspiracy… which implies improbable, covert activity? This stuff is hiding in plain sight!

Nah, I don’t care about conspiracy theories, Pete.

I know a lot about them but who knows if they’re true or not.

Trouble is, those who don’t know about them, are in no position to decide whether they are true or not, for in their profound ignorance they dismiss them out of hand because in their ignorance, they couldn’t possibli be true, simply because they themselves don’t know how they would do them.

Which is truly fucking dumb, IMHO.

I prefer an open mind Pete, but your choice.
