wife gone down to Wanganui for the weekend so what can I do .. lets see, skywatch .. F1, Super14 (not that super so far), NRL, SOCCER (I mean football), NBL, Golf .. and World Darts .. plenty of wine, enough Bourbon and pizza available.
Thank goodness for the dogs to get me out of the house for a bit of exercise.
After a month of crap at work with this past week the worst, I feel i deserve to blob out .. oh, until the grand kids come around.

A la John Key “I’d like to see wages in NZ lower.”?
I’d like to see the tax rate for all, at 20%, and no tax until your income is say $15,000. Then there would be lots of business come to NZ, and our productivity would rise, and we wouldn’t have to prop up the economy with the obscene amount we are borrowing every month to stay afloat.

While your statement is indeed true, Pete, and I also wish everyone a good break, I would ask people to just pause for a moment and think on the significance of Easter.

What is the significance of Easter?

According to the Bible, Christ died on Easter Friday for the sins of the world – yours, mine, and for all Mankind throughout all human history. He died in our place that we might not have to; and not just physically, but spiritually. When He was on the cross and bearing our sin He was, for the one and only time, separated from God the Father – the Bible describes this as ‘spiritual death’. Christ Himself highlighted this when He said, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” [Mt 27:46] – God the Father could not look on Christ while He bore our sins – He became sin for us:

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

And thus, by Christ dieing spiritually in our place, He made a way for us to not have to suffer spiritual death ourselves. If we receive Christ as our Lord and Saviour, and by doing so acknowledge that He paid the price for our sins by His death on the cross, then, we can be sure in the knowledge that we will not have to suffer ‘spiritual death’ personally.

The person who dies without Christ WILL die spiritually, that is, be separated from God for all eternity. And the only place which is outside of God’s presence is the Lake of Fire prepared for Satan and his (fallen) angels [Mt 25:41]. This is where Christ rejectors will reside for all eternity. And this is why Christ came – that we might not HAVE TO end up in this place of woe.

This is summarised extremely well in a very well known biblical verse; John 3:16. Here also are the verses either side of this important verse:

Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him [Christ] should not perish [be sent to the Lake of Fire], but have eternal life.
Joh 3:16 For God [the Father] so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten [God the] Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Verse 17 highlights that God’s desire is not that the world might be condemned, but that rather the world might repent of its sin through acknowledging Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and by doing so, might be SAVED.

Will you receive Christ this day? Will you receive God’s gift of salvation this day?

My prayer is that you will.

Wouldn’t it be nice not to be bored shitless and be able to go to the hardware store/garden centre/shopping mall and buy stuff? I think it would be, and the workers who end up working will be glad as they will get extra pay and a day in lieu.

Here is one of my favourites, I believe the origin of this song was from the USA in the South during some very difficult times. This particular incarnation was recorded in China and I believe it is a visiting choir from the US, just some dude with a camcorder but it has still captured how the human voice can sound so awesome, the sustained bit at 3:30 is kind of spine tingling.

So you picked up on my ‘idolise’ – very good! Little gods, indeed.
I have often wondered why it is that women in particular (via women’s magazines) go in for all this celebrity crap? And why is it that these so called celebrities seem to feel they MUST make comment on everything from world peace, queer rights, AGW and the associated ‘save the world’ programmes, etc?

Of course it’s very seldom (if ever?) that you’ll hear one commenting on injustices against Israel, or the latest terrorist atrocity perpetrated by adherents to the ‘Religion of Peace’.

And my solution to the problem (I’ll probably be accused of it anyway) is to line them up and shoot the lot of them (joke, people, joke).

New topic for a minute…

Those interested in the foreshore and seabed question might find interesting Jim Mora’s panel discussion (part 1) on Radio NZ yesterday (link below). It takes a few minutes to get to Dover Samuels, Maori former Labour MP, who gives a most interesting view on National’s planned foreshore and seabed legislation.

Jock Anderson is okay, as is Jim, but Rosemary McLeod, gives the usual pallid, weak, liberal view (you will remember she branded Don Brash a racist for saying all people should be equal under the law).

Dover Samuels is a character and a rough diamond. The MSM ridiculed Samuels when he allegedly urinated in a hotel pot plant when he was under the weather. (What is it about pissing in an inappropriate place that so particularly inflames the contemporary MSM, when the MSM are so liberal on drugs, promiscuity, secularism, and general anti-family behaviour, and praise boozing so long as its of wine or boutique-brewery beer?)

I found the Samuels view interesting partly because National’s new policy seems to be driven by Chris Finlayson, who is proud of the settlement he negotiated on behalf of Ngai Tahu. That settlement, it seems to me, was an injustice to non-Ngai Tahu South Islanders by giving Ngai Tahu first and second rights of purchase for Crown assets in the South Island for ever. Those discriminated against include non-Ngai Tahu Maori, who now outnumber Ngai Tahu in the south.

Having been to China and blown my nose and seen black boogers come out I imagine that air quality is not one of their strong points –

– so these guys must really be doing something wrong.

Another reason is a New Zealand company thinks since we have tight regulations here it is okay to go pollute someone one else’s back yard.

Is this part of our free trade agreement with China, we can pollute there and they can buy our strategic assets?

Richina has also been a bit ethically dubious with the way it has hidden the fact that it is the main driver behind the pollution.

It has set up seven subsidiary companies, three (Shanghai Richina Leather, Shanghai Hongguang Leather and Shanghai Leather Chemical Factory)..

Oh, and removing the rort that gave banks subsidies for student loans that were govt guaranteed anyway!
