Pleasantly suprised Parliament is currently passing under urgency an amendment to allow Police to stand for councils again…

That was a stupid amendment passed last year or the year before because “it wasn’t right for Police to draft laws they’d enforce”…

Longish post for two reasons.
We have a white supremist gang leaders wife convicted of fraud now attempting to void her jail sentence.
Best the judge puts her in Jail with lots of big black lady dykes. Justice would be done.

Two, Darryl Harris, said gang leader is apparently exempt from working and thus allowed a benefit because he was able to get a Doctors Certificate saying he was addicted to cannabis.
What a rort; The addiction is temporary and is his problem.
When is Ms Bennet going to deal with this sort of shit. Get tough on beneficiaries. yep, just the nicer ones and ones unable to fight back. Definitely not the toughies toooooo hard.

Former gang leader’s wife appeals jail sentence

Marcia Alice Robins, wife of former gang leader Darryl Harris, is appealing against the six-month jail term she was given for benefit fraud.

The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to three charges brought by the Ministry of Social Development on March 26 and her sentencing took place in Christchurch District Court a few weeks ago.

The charges related to her request for financial help for a Hoon Hay property where the couple had never lived, an application for rent support for another property, and dishonesty over a rental figure on a tenancy agreement, Christchurch Court News website reported.

She was charged with dishonestly using documents.

Ministry prosecutor Richard Williams told the court the total benefit overpayment amounted to $12,442.

The ministry did not seek reparations from Robins, saying the money was being reclaimed through deductions from her Work and Income benefit.

The appeal is to be heard on July 8.

The charges followed a Press investigation into the Harris family late last year.

The newspaper revealed the Harris family, which has gang connections, has been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars over 25 years.

Information obtained by The Press showed the Harris family had claimed unemployment and sickness benefits continuously since 1984.

They were one of about 300 couples who draw about $1000 a week in benefits from the taxpayer and are the subjects of a government audit.

They have four children, three of whom are also drawing benefits.

In addition, they have received $30,000 in special-needs grants since 2000, including $16,000 in the past two years.

Among the successful applications were grants to put new tyres on the couple’s 2007 silver Chrysler saloon and to fence a swimming pool at one of several properties the family owns in Christchurch.

The couple claimed they needed to sell the property and could not do so unless the pool was properly fenced.

Recent efforts to cancel Darryl Harris’ sickness benefit failed after he obtained a medical opinion stating he was addicted to cannabis.

A redneck family from the hills was visiting the city and
they were in a mall for the first time in their lives. The father
and son were strolling around while the wife shopped.

They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but
especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart
and then slide back together again.

The boy asked, ‘Paw, what’s that?’

The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, ‘Son,

a heavy set old lady in a wheelchair rolled up to the moving
walls and pressed a button.

The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into
a small room The walls closed and the boy and his father
watched the small circular number above the walls light up
sequentially.

They continued to watch until it reached the last number and
then the numbers began to light in the reverse order. Then
the walls opened up again and a gorgeous, voluptuous 24
year-old blonde woman stepped out.

The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said
quietly to his son . . . . .

‘Boy, you go gitcha Momma right now, y’hear?’

Yes, I’m aware of that bit of “rebranding”, as PR people call it. It’s like when a company which has an appalling reputation changes its name, Just like James Hardie is now called Amaca Pty Ltd which instantly makes them much better people than the ones responsible for asbestos, leaky homes etc.

I’m sure their PR people will be pleased to know that you, at least, swallowed it. But while they continue to behave in the way the Auditor General noted, the use of the term “force” is highly appropriate.

And to add to,that they will continue to be frustrated and unable to ensure public saftey whilst stupid Judges allow this sort of crap to go down.
A clearly drunken driver escapes on a technicality that should be sen for what it is. Outrageous.

An Eltham man escaped a drink-driving conviction yesterday by arguing police had not given him a phone book to call a lawyer.

The judge found in favour of George Oliver’s contention in the Hawera District Court that police may not have done enough to contact his lawyer of choice.

Prominent lawyer Peter Brosnahan, well-known for success in this field, claimed a Stratford policeman lied to cover up a lack of process in the case.

At the Stratford police station on January 6, Oliver, 74, blew a breath test reading of 537mgs.

He had earlier specifically asked for Mr Brosnahan but neither he or constable Shaun Darth knew his phone number.

The contentious point was whether or not Mr Darth then offered Oliver a phone directory to contact him.

“Have you ever heard of 018?,” Mr Brosnahan asked.

Yesterday, Mr Key was the first leader to congratulate Julia Gillard after the Labor caucus replaced former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd with her.

“What it shows you is that things can move very rapidly in politics and you can’t take for granted your position,” Mr Key said later.

“Hopefully, I won’t repeat the same thing this side of the Tasman.”

HMMM, well it might be good to reflect upon this statement in the morning. Shall we suggest a few minor issues like, Smacking referendum, ETS, lower taxes, changing the ever controlling RMA, and so much more.
Smith with his RMA and ETS is sufficient to cause the underbelly to grumble, especially once the ETS costs start to hit the voters pockets.
And that’s not why Rudd got dumped.
Rudd got dumped because he always was, will and arsewipe and the Aussies finally woke up to that.
Even his daughter had written a bout about his demise, right down to the final TV tears.
HMM prophetic. John don’t let your daughter write a book about you.

Rudd sacking predicted in daughter’s book

The sacking of Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd, and his replacement by a senior female colleague, were uncannily predicted in a chick-lit novel – written by Mr Rudd’s daughter Jessica.

Ms Rudd’s debut novel, Campaign Ruby, is a frothy romance set during a snap general election in Australia, and is due to be published in September. But its plot was played out in real life, when Mr Rudd was dumped yesterday in an internal coup and replaced by his deputy, Julia Gillard.

The parallels between Ms Rudd’s fiction and her father’s reality are striking. In Campaign Ruby, prime minister “Hugh Patton” is toppled by his finance minister “Gabrielle Brennan”, after losing the confidence of his party, in a “swift and seamless move”, much as Ms Gillard has done to Mr Rudd.

“Hugh” then gives a press conference alongside his family, while choking back tears, as Mr Rudd did yesterday.

And “Gabrielle” then delivers a conciliatory victory speech, saluting the achievements of the man she has just ousted, just as Ms Gillard did yesterday.

V2, Key is much different to Rudd, he has a lot more political nous with a common touch, and continues to appeal across the middle spread. And importantly isn’t alienating those in his own party as Rudd did.

Much to the chagrin of those supporting minor fringe parties who keep trying to trash him.
