Is the Auckland City Council racist???

The reason I ask is I went for a walk around Cornwell Park yesterday and all the white sheep, with their lovely new fluffy white lambs were in massive paddocks and many free to wonder in open areas.

However….. The blacks were segregated, they were in a much smaller paddocks and not a whitey to be seen.
Just like GOOD old South Africa!!

With his announcement yesterday on GST, he has shown himself to be the pre-eminent expert in judging what is half-hearted and does practically nothing!!

Phil goff also said hes going to get the money for his GST cuts from helth, but not member of our elite media jumped all over it like hyperactive school kids and squealed what about helth like they’d do if it was a national government idea bhudson.

Any comment that includes the words “according to stuff” is not destined for a high degree of attention from me for one.

Does it worry anyone else that our children are being taught by people who are so intellectually dishonest. Teachers need to understand where they fit in the scheme of things.

To have their mind made up to the point of having commercially printed signs at the conference that the minister addressed displayed such arrogance. They were never even going to listen to the speech, their minds having been made up along political lines long ago.

Britain’s so-called “dash for wind” means that it is now the biggest off shore generator – producing as much as the rest of the world put together. But costs of building the farms have doubled due to spiralling prices for steel and the drop in the value of the pound. The report found that costs have risen for all kinds of generation but off shore wind farms remain by far the most expensive – 90 per cent more than fossil fuel generators and 50 per cent more than nuclear.

When you mext hear some eco wanker toss off about making windmills cost competitive this will mean making the cost of hydro/coal/gas etc more expensive by putting ETS type charges onto energy produced by these forms. We are been taken for a ride by the greenies and we will pay MUCH more for energy than we need to because of idelogy. Also windmills are a largely subsidised industry as they are so in efficient.

Bill English’s changes to the rules on foreign investment, especially as they apply to NZ agricultural land, are piss weak.
Put this in perspective with the National initiated ethnic re-engineering of NZ (begun with the immigration industry founded by ex National Minister Malcom), and the big donations to the National Party from Auckland Chinese, and you get a disturbing trend.

English and National have declined to intervene in the process in the sale of the Crafar farms to the controversial Chinese company Natural Dairy, with three of its leading people famed respectively for Ph.D.-lying, a Gates-scale-charity con, and 6c-in-the dollar bankruptcy settlement offer.

When will we get a Right wing party that will make a stand against the National sell-out? Cometh the time, cometh the man (or woman)? Well fucking hurry up whoever and wherever you are.

Here’s the nub of English’s changes:

1. Ministers will be able to consider a wider range of issues when assessing an investment in sensitive land.

2.Each investment application will continue to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

English and Key clearly think Kiwis are thick.

Only one of those “myths” has anything to do with wind power. They say:

Nor does wind energy substantially reduce CO2 emissions. Since the wind doesn’t always blow, utilities must use gas- or coal-fired generators to offset wind’s unreliability. The result is minimal — or no — carbon dioxide reduction.

In New Zealand, we have <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roaring_forties"lots of wind. We also have lots of hydropower, which works well with windpower: when the wind is strong, we can reduce the hydro generation, perhaps diverting water into a reservoir, and when the wind is weak, we can increase hydropower using the stored water.

Energy companies are building lots of new wind farms. I guess they must think it’s profitable..

Firms paid to shut down wind farms when the wind is blowing

Britain’s biggest wind farm companies are to be paid not to produce electricity when the wind is blowing.

Energy firms will receive thousands of pounds a day per wind farm to turn off their turbines because the National Grid cannot use the power they are producing. Critics of wind farms have seized on the revelation as evidence of the unsuitability of turbines to meet the UK’s energy needs in the future. They claim that the ‘intermittent’ nature of wind makes such farms unreliable providers of electricity.

The National Grid fears that on breezy summer nights, wind farms could actually cause a surge in the electricity supply which is not met by demand from businesses and households.
The electricity cannot be stored, so one solution – known as the ‘balancing mechanism’ – is to switch off or reduce the power supplied.

The system is already used to reduce supply from coal and gas-fired power stations when there is low demand. But shutting down wind farms is likely to cost the National grid – and ultimately consumers – far more. When wind turbines are turned off, owners are being deprived not only of money for the electricity they would have generated but also lucrative ‘green’ subsidies for that electricity.

That’s the problem with wind power. It works only in parallel with other generation resources that can be turned on and off.

Because NZ’s hydro power system has quite small reservoirs because of our topography, we have quite small hydro standby. For example, the Clutha River stations have only about two days’ back up.

Geothermal is also relatively small, and subject to shifting patterns.

We are a windy country. The irony for the Green-loving wind fanatics is that wind is an ideal complement for thermal power generation – gas, coal, of which we have an abundance.

IMHO, the problem for wind in NZ is not the difficulty of matching wind energy with electricity demand, but the problem of not being able to mesh it with coal-gas fired generation.

The Coffee Party, an organisation started by leftists and funded by George Soros and perceived as a counter to the Te Party movement, had its first ever National Convention.

Purportedly, the whole Coffee Party grew exponentially when an “ordinary citizen” named Annabel Park posted a Facebook entry calling for a return to “civility.” Supposedly, the CP spread like wildfire, with 200,000 “friendings” on Facebook.

CBS News asked, “Is the ‘Coffee Party’ the next big thing?” The Washington Post not only wrote a glowing news report on the CP (“Coffee Party activists say their civic brew’s a tastier choice than Tea Party’s”), it offered op ed space to Ms. Park to tout her movement.

Annabel Park was a political operative and former New York Times employee and filmmaker for the Obama campaign, but nobody in the liberal media thought that was in the least important, when hyping the “answer” to the tea parties.

The Louisville Convention was attended by 350 people. In other words a dud, and showing who THE DAMN EXTREMISTS REALLY ARE- those on the left who seek to corner the debate and call anyone who criticises them “crazy”.

I think people often overlook the significant differences in windpower generation between NZ and other countries.

NZ does not have a continental weather system. NZ is fortunate enough to be located exposed to consistent and regular tradewinds (the roaring forties). The erratic wind supply that plagues other countries is a non-issue for NZ. We also have the advantage of a lack of flying, endangered birds. You have to be a pretty suicidal kiwi to venture out of the bush, up bare, windswept hills, up a turbine, to leap into it to your doom.

The bigger problem with windfarms is that getting RMA permission for the best sites is difficult (e.g. the failure of the Te Waka project to get RMA consent). That means that often the scale of the farms, or the location, is not optimised. There is however, no compelling economic reason why wind power could not be used at a larger scale and integrated with other power sources in NZ.

Savers should stop complaining about poor returns and start spending to help the economy, a senior Bank of England official warned today.

Older households could afford to suffer because they had benefited from previous property price rises, Charles Bean, the deputy governor, suggested. They should “not expect” to live off interest, he added, admitting that low returns were part of a strategy.

Mr Bean said he “fully sympathised”. But he continued: “Savers shouldn’t necessarily expect to be able to live just off their income in times when interest rates are low. It may make sense for them to eat into their capital a bit.”

It seems that after the success of the Glen Beck organized rally recently, to which an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 people turned up to, the left are organizing their own One Nation rally for October the 2nd. The difference? Unions and a collection of leftist groups are organizing free and discounted bus rides to get people to the rally, as well as free t-shirts, boxed lunches, and metro-fare cards.

In other words, they have to bribe and entice to get as many people to go as they can.

On October 2nd, the NAACP and national labor unions will give tens of thousands of people free bus rides, free lunches, free T-shirts and free Metro farecards as inducements to attend the One Nation Working Together rally being organized by a coalition of radical leftist organizations at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has promised to give free bus rides from major metropolitan areas within twelve hours of D.C. The United Steelworkers are also busing in demonstrators from across the Northeast. Even the Screen Actors Guild is ‘getting on the bus.’

Local NAACP chapters on the East coast are also offering free buses, as are the Communication Workers of America.
Rally co-sponsor the AFL-CIO states, “Unions are sponsoring some 1,400 buses from around the country to come to the march.”

A big difference compared to Beck’s rally, where people went because they wanted to, and got there under their own steam.

Former officer jailed for perjury

Former Otago police officer Neil Ford has been jailed for two years and four months for lying in his evidence about a road accident five years ago.

Ford’s evidence had been premeditated and he had relied on the fact what he said was more likely to be accepted than the evidence of an inexperienced teenager.

As a result of Ford’s perjured evidence, an innocent person had been convicted.

A tough penalty perhaps but seems fair enough, and a clear signal to those serving for the police.

It’s not uncommon for it to be suggested that police make things up to get convictions – presumably usually because they think it’s deserved despite the actual evidence – but this case was different in that the officer was involved in the incident rather than simply “enforcing” the law, and would have known he was causing an innocent person to be convicted, to save his own skin. Backfired because people took the time and considerable effort to seek justice.

Surely he can’t be that thick as to call the roaring forties ‘trade winds’ (actually he calls them tradewinds, but that is another issue). If he is a proponent of wind power you’d think that he’d have done some reading.

NATIONAL’S FORESHORE AND SEABED BILL

If you want New Zealand to remain a democracy rather than slowly reverting to a tribal aristocracy, please read on. And as you do, think about your children and grandchildren, and whether you want them to inherit one country or two. Then decide for yourself, who’s telling the truth and what you want to do.

This is information your prime minister will not want you to read. It concerns his plans to trade away New Zealand ’s foreshore and seabed for Maori Party votes – by the end of summer.

Mr Key’s got his government spin machine working overtime to stop you learning the truth about this handover. All we’ve got is the power of the written word – and the will of the New Zealand people.

In June, Maori Party MP Hone Harawira said that no matter what the government does over the foreshore and seabed, Maori will keep on fighting: “We will keep fighting until we get that Maori Title, because it is ours by right. And not just customary title either, but formal, legislative recognition of our rights to the foreshore and seabed, as guaranteed under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.”[1]

The first step in the Maori Party’s march to Maori Title is to take the foreshore and seabed out of the public’s hands by repealing Crown ownership. That’s what John Key’s new Bill, the Marine and Coastal Area (Tukutai Moana) Bill will do.

The second step is to declare that iwi have a ‘universal right’ to the whole coastline. That’s what the newly established universal customary interest, ‘Mana Tuku Iho’ in John Key’s new Bill, will do.

The third step is to open the floodgates to iwi claims. And that’s exactly what John Key’s new Bill will do, by not only weakening and widening the criteria under which claimants can qualify, but also by giving politicians unilateral powers to authorise claims involving billions of dollars of public assets, without those claims being properly tested in a court of law.

At present the test is high: to claim a customary title to the foreshore and seabed, iwi have to prove in the High Court that they have used and occupied the area exclusively and continuously since 1840, and that they have continuously owned the land abutting the claim.

The new Bill, however, drops the need for claimants to prove their claims in the High Court. Instead it enables Ministers to negotiate political deals in secret with the iwi elite – invariably creating new injustices – without any public scrutiny at all.

In addition, the requirement for iwi to own the land abutting their foreshore and seabed claim has been dropped, laying wide open the opportunity for iwi up and down the country to make claims.

Furthermore, the stumbling block that iwi had to have used and occupied the area exclusively and continuously since 1840, has also been undermined. In the new Bill, an area of foreshore and seabed now being claimed could have been owned and used by other groups in the past, but as long as the area was ‘transferred’ to the claimants according to ‘tikanga’, it will be treated as if the claimants had always owned it!

So by subtle changes in the wording of his new Bill, John Key is putting the country onto a dangerous slippery slide to tribalism, whereby – by their own reckoning – at least 10 percent of New Zealand’s coastline and many billions of dollars of public wealth, will go to corporate iwi. However, notwithstanding the comments by those with a vested interest who are trying to downplay the impact of this Bill, the substantially weaker qualifying criteria means that this 10 percent estimate is likely to be understated.

All of this will, of course, only be the start – John Key’s initial sacrifice of some 2,000 km of our coast will never be enough to satisfy the Maori Party and the tribal elite they represent.

At stake is that part of our country that most defines who we are as Kiwis – the glorious coastal region that is the birthright and common heritage of all New Zealanders. It consists of 10 million hectares of beaches and sea – out to the 12 nautical mile limit – all harbours and tidal estuaries, the airspace above and the non-nationalised mineral wealth below. Crown Minerals has estimated the country’s iron sand reserves alone to be worth $1 trillion – with all royalties from such mining operations now flowing to the Crown to fund hospitals, schools and other government services.

Bizarrely, at a time when our economy is stalling and when the government is looking for new ways to generate wealth to catch Australia, National is planning to give our priceless coastline, with its rich potential for future growth and development, to private Maori interests. As a result, coastal income from claimed areas will be stripped from the public purse to line corporate iwi coffers.

You have to hand it to the Prime Minister and his team – they have become masters of obfuscation over the foreshore and seabed, doing all they can to pacify the public. The soothing words that ‘nothing will change’, that ‘when Hone’s opposed to what we are doing, we must have got the balance about right’, and that ‘the amount of foreshore Maori will succeed in claiming will be relatively small’, are all cleverly designed to placate public concerns.

But don’t be fooled. Don’t trust politicians on this one – it is too important.

Look for yourself: you can read the current law here>>>, National’s new Bill here>>>, and the NZCPR’s new Briefing Paper (PDF) here>>> (the Briefing Paper summarises the key points and compares the proposed reforms to the law as it stands today – including the fact that free public access is no longer guaranteed in the new Bill, that iwi will be largely exempt from resource management requirements, that they will be given total powers of veto over any other New Zealander seeking consents as well as the power to influence coastal policy formation, and that they will have a virtual carte blanche to develop the foreshore and seabed for commercial gain – including the ability to transfer that right to third parties).

And for those with business interests in the coastal region who believe their concerns have been addressed in the new Bill, I say be careful – because unless Crown ownership of the foreshore and seabed is retained, as each election comes around, politicians will lower the bar to win Maori Party support, and in the end, the present assurances will count for nothing.

The Maori Party has warned it wants the whole of our coast in Maori Title. As long as the Maori seats remain in Parliament, and the Maori Party continues to hold the balance of power in MMP governments, then, if this Bill is passed into law and the foreshore and seabed is taken out of public ownership and control, they will not stop until the whole of New Zealand’s coastal area – right out to the 200 nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone limit and including the nationalised oil, gold, silver and uranium reserves – is under Maori Title.

John Key’s Marine and Coastal Matters Bill, has now been referred to a Select Committee, with submissions closing on November 19th. Law lecturer and Treaty expert David Round, this week’s NZCPR Guest Commentator, has taken exception to the fact that the government has chosen the Maori Affairs Select Committee to deal with the Bill:

“The select committee which is hearing submissions is not the Fisheries select committee, which heard submissions on Labour’s 2004 law, but the Maori Affairs select committee. This is disgraceful. The ownership and administration of this enormous piece of public property is a matter of interest to everyone, not just Maori, yet the very nature of the select committee ~ like virtually all of the ‘consultation’ hitherto ~ announces that this is a matter primarily of interest to Maori. Moreover, all of the committee’s seven members are Maori. They or their tribes are therefore potential beneficiaries of the laws they are making. Perhaps some of them may attempt to serve the public good, but even if so, what happened to justice not only being done but being seen to be done? Any New Zealander who believes that the foreshore and seabed is our common heritage and should remain in Crown ownership, for the benefit of all New Zealanders irrespective of race, now and into the future, must speak out now. As you think about the matters raised in this newsletter, remember the saying that the first step on any journey is always the hardest. If John Key is successful in persuading the country that this first step of abolishing Crown ownership of the foreshore and seabed is the right thing to do, then over time our democracy will revert to a tribal aristocracy with full Maori ownership and control of New Zealand’s richest public asset – our coastline.

If on the other hand, the public can persuade John Key that his mandate at the election was to abolish the Maori seats, not champion Maori sovereignty, and that this Bill is a step too far and should be withdrawn, then there is still hope for a future where New Zealand is one country not two.

Foreign airlines are threatened with a flight and landing ban from 2012 in the European Union if they do not participate in emissions trading.

The ban is proposed in an internal document by the EU Commission seen by Handelsblatt. Summarised on nine pages, the guidelines describe how such a ban could be implement. The Commission considers a flight and landing ban as a last resort to make the airlines surrender over its Emissions Trading Scheme. [kk: Extortion!!]

An EU Directive stipulates that airlines from Europe and third countries are mandated to be included in the trading of emissions rights. On their flights to and from Europe, they may then only emit as much CO2 as the CO2 certificates they hold. 85 percent of the certificates are free of charge while 15 percent of the allowances have to bought via auctions.

“The whole project has not been thought through. The EU cannot impose its law on third countries,” Holger Krahmer, environmental spokesman for the German Liberal Party in the EU Parliament told Handelsblatt.

In fact, international resistance against the EU plan is growing. Several American, Asian and African airlines are suing the EU over its emissions trade project. The US Aviation Association ATA is attempting to have the policy suspended by the European Court of Justice. And the Russian government has also voiced its displeasure in Brussels. [kk: More power to them!!]

This is what happens when countries cede their sovereignty to a ‘small’ world government that has big plans for itself.

@WebWrat – I recall reading this a while back.

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

— creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;

— satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;

— augmenting primitive feelings of envy;

— rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

Sounds pretty much like the NZ-liberal too.

PG..re perjury case..the parents of the young man’s girlfriend at the time are the people who totally backed him.. He was only 17 so without their help , he would never have got this result.
