So is it true (as per the TV3 report) that Carter and his partner can travel for the rest of their lives and have the tax payer pick up 90% of the bill even when Carter has left Parliament?

Now why would the Russians unleash its obsolete, dilapidated missile stock simply for a land-based missile defence system that won’t be operable for a few more years? It would be nice if you could really flex your primary school education and use a phrase that doesn’t involve sunshine once in a while.

…..it gets worse for the little girl from Henderson who was tortured by her parents…once were warriors true to form , WTF is wrong with maori?

Hurf with respect grumpy seems to me to be reading it right.

This is what SDI was about in the 80’s.

The radar they recently tried to get into Czechoslovakia, was the same thing.

It disturbs detente, it’s like someone putting on a suit of armour except worse cause it’s not a suit of armour it’s a game-changer. They didn’t let it go a few years ago till it was dead, they won’t now. They can’t. Unlike the US, they have leverage. They’re not imploding.

I havent heard any prominent maori leaders speak out against this and most other maori child abuse incidents ( and there have been so many)..why isnt turia, sharples , the great racist harawira up on their soapboxes preaching to their flock….maybe they think its ok?

And just in case some of you have missed the whole thread (heaven forfend), how about this for wisdom:

jinpy the main reason I’m against the Maori settlements is the amount of effort put towards them instead of getting Maori educated. I’m tired of bloody excuses for Maori kids not doing well at school, it goes back to the home, if the home is not working well build more Dilworth type schools, it works well. The cost, cheaper than prison later.

I want to see a lot more Maori professionals,doctors, engineers, surveyors and and a lot less Maori doing bloody art degrees. No wonder I’m a miserable old bastard when I see kids in the bloody fifth form who do not even know the prime numbers up to a hundred. That books in homes, bollocks give them a library card.

Funnily enough reid It’s way past my bedtime but I was watching a History Channel reenactment of the breakout from Normandy and bloody good it was.

CHRIS CARTER: Blames the media for ruining his planned holiday in Sri Lanka.

Independent MP Chris Carter is blaming the media for ruining his summer holiday after the itinerary for his taxpayer-subsidised trip to Sri Lanka was leaked.

Mr Carter and his partner, Peter Kaiser, were to leave on December 29 flying business class to Colombo, via Singapore, at a cost of $13,902 – 75 per cent of which was to be paid by the taxpayer.

Police Segways unusable

Two $20,000 Segways were made available to officers on patrol but the machines had been “languishing in a police station gathering dust” for more than a year after officials ruled they could not be used.

Mayor Rick Cooper says he had no alternative but to get rid of them. Area commander Inspector Steve Bullock said there was no classification for Segways and they fell into the motor vehicles category – which meant they had to meet requirements such as being registered to be allowed on the road.

He has also very specifically blamed Lockwood Smith for leaking the details.

Smith: “I didn’t want to comment because I didn’t want to lend dignity to his accusation, but I didn’t even know he was going anywhere, so there was no way I could possibly have leaked anything.”

And if Carter is adamant it was fine for him to book the trip, why has he canceled? If he was sure of his righteousness he surely would have continued with his plans. This is bizarre.
