The reality is that most people don’t watch debates. And most people don’t take much notice of politics and if they vote they base their decision on vague party or leader preference.

Most people I talk to around town don’t have a clue who the electorate candidates are, and many don’t even know who the current MPs are.

Many people vote on a whim, and many couldn’t even explain why they are inclined a particular way.

So you’re right. Our education system let you down when it failed to provide you with basic comprehension skills.

Winkle declined to find in favour of either cause and without reading all the justification she explained why I guess. You on the other hand assumed that becuase her ruling retained the staus quo, so as not (in her estimation), predujice the further investigation, (which would not be needed if she had made a decision,) decided that the ruling was in Keys Favour.

Patently not so, anymore than it was in Ambrose favour. She pointed out the day before that her likely opinion was that and you even missed that part.

You need to learn to join the dots. You can buy kiddies books that will teach you that.

Pleased I wasn’t the only one that noticed. Manolo.

I though Goff took the debate to Key fairly well, answered the questions and indeed pulled the debate back to the questions on several occasions when it had wandered off.
Key ran the usual party line and as Tracey Watkins has said blind sided Key quite effectively over the police.

Good debate for Goff and indeed I think showed the skills that he really does have after so many years representing NZ.

That said I don’t want too many of his mates running the country so untill he flicks off the rainbows and unionists I will be happy to give a tick to Phil but leave his mates at home.

1. I said: “This will piss off TV3 etc”….
2. You then bleat that I’ve interpreted Winkelmann J’s judgement.

Huh? Read what I said again. If you cannot understand what I wrote, then ask someone older to read it for you. It shouldn’t be too hard.

I said that TV3 would be pissed off and I was right! They wanted (come hell or high water) to release the material illegally recorded in order to somehow exonerate their contractor / reporter / cameraman / whatever. Thats why they hired the Gweenpeace lawyers and sought a Declaratory Judgement. And they failed. Winkelmann J said that she would not rule because the Police were investigating the matter. A sensible position to take and an entirely predictable decision. Even to a layman.

TV3 are bleating. Surely you can see that? Bleating means that they’re not happy. Which is what I said… Doh!

Best go dig another hole elsewhere.

Let me know when ACT is rating 30% plus in the polls and in a position to put a Government together that will last more than 3 years.

Until then, I prefer not to just piss my vote up against the wall. It would actually make more sense to vote for the Maori Party.

Wow, I’m shocked! The Herald actually has a decent question on Asset Sales!

Where do you stand on state asset sales?
Completely opposed to it (43%)
Agree with partial sales of some assets (52%)
Want outright sale of state-owned power companies (3%)
I’m undecided (2%)

I know these are unscientific, but considering Labour is no doubt rorting the poll so the completely opposed %age would most likely be lower – it seems the majority of respondents are supportive of National’s plan!
