Dear Mr Peters,

We respectfully draw to your attention the Petition of Penelope Mary Bright and 307 others
That the House conduct an urgent inquiry into the decisions regarding prosecutions relating to the Huljich Kiwisaver Scheme registered prospectuses dated 22 August 2008 and 18 September 2009.

where Penelope Mary Bright, under the illusion that ACT’s policy of ONE LAW FOR ALL should also apply to ACT members, asks FOR THE SAME CRIMINAL CHARGES TO BE FILED AGAINST DONALD THOMAS BRASH AND JOHN ARCHIBALD BANKS AS WERE AGAINST THE FORMER FELLOW DIRECTOR OF HULJICH WEALTH MANAGEMENT PETER KARL CHRISTOPHER HULJICH.

Considering that you, Mr Winston Peters, of all New Zealanders, would likely benefit most from the legal action as is sought by Ms Bright, we of course realise that you will have long ago given this matter your fullest consideration
as it could destroy the ACT Party and John Banks, trigger a by-election in Epsom,
possibly topple the National Government
and put you know who in the position of King Maker again :o)

So, while we suspect you will have examined this situation in minute detail, even had legal advice yourself on the plausibility of the ‘case’,
we do bring this to your attention again in case you short term memory is infarcted or your legal advisor has gone to his happy place, so we commend this matter to you for your further attention, especially now that Penny has put it in your [Parliament’s] lap, so to speak.

What’s with all these woman calling for a government apology for been forced to adopt their babies out ?. I’m sure the present set of politicians have sweet fuck all sway over what happened many decades ago. It’s fucking ridiculous. I’m sure many were devastated because they had to give their babies up but getting an apology now is simply pointless. At what stage do we let history be history ? Instead of continually saying sorry for the sins of our fathers would it just not be better to learn from our pass mistakes and not repeat again. If I had anything to do within the present power base I would tell these woman to take a running jump.

KB readers – I usually post under another name but adopted a nom de plume – which I apologise for. However, I really need some help. My thirteen year old daughter is throwing up after meals and over-exercising. She has lost a lot of weight this year – and is now at the bottom end of healthy. I am looking for advice on how other people handled finding out their child has an eating disorder. I am pretty much at a complete loss as to how to proceed. No sleep last night probably not helping:)

After one (rather fortuitous) victory over a weakened Australia the Black Caps were beating their chests and loudly proclaiming themselves one of the best teams in World Cricket- ‘Bring on South Africa’ they cried.
Now, after two absolute thumpings from an understrength South Africa, Ryder and bigmouth Bracewell have been axed for getting drunk and allegedly starting a fight with a bar patron.
NZ sports teams always come down to earth with an embarrassing thud when they get too cocky..

Clare Curran may have a valid query about this.

Journalists ‘told not to upset advertisers’ – Curran

Labour’s broadcasting spokeswoman Clare Curran today questioned TVNZ bosses about a recent meeting called between management and Fair Go staff.

TVNZ management had instructed them not to “produce programmes that would upset their advertisers”, she claimed.

However, head of TV One and TV2 Jeff Latch said it “wasn’t an instruction, per se”.

But…

“I also made the observation we operate in a commercial environment and Fair Go, like all our programmes, need to exercise care in the way they handle stories.”

Sounds like a weak denial at best. Sure, Fair Go has to be seen to be balanced. And independent of commercial influence.

Brian Edwards, who started Fair Go, agrees that it sounds like a comercial directive in a NatRad interview.

To anorexic’s Dad: Get her away from her anorexic friends between the ages of 13 and 16. No antidepressants or you could have a suicide on your hands and that is just my humble opinion not a medical one. Ignore her unless she is eating correctly because at the end of the day it’s a disease of selfishness. And not necessarily forever; tends to abate as the brain matures. And if she’s going to be a wee arsehole about it then make sure you send her out to fetch your newspaper and groceries; she’ll love the exercise and you may as well put her to work seeing as she is putting you through stress.
Right. Done my bit for society for the morning. Off for coffee and barking at the kids.

Despite the slime beat up pretending otherwise the two cricketers had an argument with another patron – a wuss who cried to the slime afterwards.

That patron may have, in fact, been reminding Ryder that his (Ryder’s) figures have plummeted since the PC crowd made him give up booze and (judging by the photographs) food.

Otherwise, I agree with Dime, easily the most likely scenario.

@ worried dad – it’s a psychological illness that strikes young teenage girls (and the occasional boy) and needs knowledgeable care. I suggest that you scour the internet for info, and then decide what sort of treatment would be best.

Do not feel guilty – and do not try and get treatment without her knowing. You should discuss your worries with her, see if she has any insight into why she is acting this way. She may not know herself.

Also, she may not know that she is losing weight – it is common for such people to think that they are ‘fat’ and unattractive despite what the bathroom scales and their sagging clothes say.

I really don’t care about what Ryder and Bigmouth Bracewell got up to on the town- My post was mainly to express my disgust at the brash, cocky (borderline arrogant) attitude the team had leading into this series and their subsequent limp performances on the park since.
Comments like “We know we can beat them” and “Man for man we are as good as them” are hardly backed up by two absolute hammerings on the park (on form this understrength South African side could likely beat NZ inside four days in the Test!)
What is with this team? Why do they always have to be cocky and disrespectful to the opposition? They simply aren’t good enough to ‘trash talk’ one of the World’s top sides…

May I suggest that if you don’t get the results you seek from your GP and local Mental Health Services there are some private clinics out there that may be of assistance..Good luck!

So a bunch of rifles and shotguns have been seized by the police, and some of them had been cut-down. Under cross-examination from Tame Iti’s lawyer, the police armourer confirmed that hunters sometimes cut down their guns to make it easier to walk through the bush.

Earlier, the court was told that a bomb recipe was found in the flat of one of the members; specifically, the recipe gave instructions to make a thermite bomb. The explosion would not be a loud bang but would create a lot of light and heat. “It can be used in many ways – to start fires, melt engine blocks and destroy pretty much anything.” Thermite bombs were used in World War II to destroy trucks and artillery.

Kemara’s lawyer, Charl Hirschfeld, asked Mr Neale if the thermite bomb would be used in “magic shows”.

So … it’s all okay folks, there was nothing nefarious going down. Just hunting with sawn-off shotguns – as you do …

… and the thermite bombs were being used in “magic shows”.

Manolo/Northland Wahine- Alternatively those whining students could get a job? I bartended three or four nights a week and scraped together what I could..and there is always labouring work to be found in the Varsity holidays.
I also had to pay interest on my Student Loan, these moaning clowns don’t know how lucky they have it…

sorry, but I didn’t chose your parents anymore than you did. Equally I can tell you about people who remained heart broken because of the process and whose children went to not nice situations at all. And ladies who never had another child becuase of the experience of getting pregmant at a not so young age and having their babies taken from them

And I can tell you about young people who never knew their father until they were teenagers. You did OK so deal with it. Others didn’t. Just wtch the telly about people in Aussie and you just might get to understand.

A useful article pointing out what I’ve been telling people here for years but which very few here seem to have picked up on over those years: politics is dead, on both sides. He’s using AGW as an example, but they use the same tactics in all other areas as well and its quite apparent once you open your mind to it. It’s important to wake up to this, BTW because I’ve been looking at it for a decade now and the pace is a-changing.

The issue is, first recognising the fallacy in, then getting away from, the two legs good, four legs bad paradigm, by which most people look at life and politics, requires a searing event of biblical proportion that directly affects you and those, while we’ve had many over the last several years, go unnoticed, since they don’t affect you. But wake up you will, eventually. The issue will be for most of you, it will be too late when you finally, finally, get it.

Politics has changed. We no longer have a left-right paradigm, even if many who are politically active but unaware of what is going on around them still define themselves in such terms. Today we have an authoritarian mix of progressive and fascist corporatism (rule by and in the interest of government and corporations) on one side, and mix of classical liberalism and libertarianism (limited government and individual liberty) on the other.

We can see the evidence of the corporatist approach. It makes me laugh when the global warming fanatics try to undermine opposition to them by arguing the sceptics are in the pay of ‘big oil’. One of the worst propagandists for spinning this line is Bob Ward, mouthpiece for the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics. Australian Journalist Jo Nova reported that Exxon-Mobil had paid $23 million to sceptical groups over a ten-year period. Big corporate Exxon-Mobil are therefore considered evil personified by warmists like Ward.

Ward’s employer is named after its benefactor – the uber wealthy fund manager, Jeremy Grantham. In 2011 Grantham held 11,309,048 shares of Exxon stock. Why would Grantham fork out to fund an institute researching climate change when he is making a fortune from the very company cited by his minions as evil big oil? Perhaps because as a corporate animal his only interest is making money, and his hypocritical fence straddling is a means to that end.

It’s quite interesting about the war graves. I don’t suppose the locals necessarily have any particular reason to respect these graves, and if there was a hostile government then I guess there would be very little that the CWGC could do about it.

I made the mistake of reading that “Stuff” article, only to be left wondering again about the capabilities of today’s journalists. Two examples:

Six hundred and fifteen New Zealanders lie in Commonwealth War Grave Cemeteries at Acroma and Tobruk which are behind rebel lines. More are buried in Gaddafi controlled Tripoli.

While the US repatriate their fallen,

I guess those Normandy fields full of stone crosses and Jewish stars, listing the names of men from places like Iowa and New York, at the start of Saving Private Ryan, were as false as other parts of the movie?

While in China, an American man is very sexually promiscuous and does not use a condom the entire time he is there.

I would suggest that the morality of killing babies in the womb is infinitely more debased than making a joke about Obama.
