Yep, used to be taught way back when history was just that.
Lots more out there. Indeed if you go to Hawera museum there is a really good model of Parihaka and the raiding parties.

The truth about Te Kooti and Te Raprahau is just as gory and in the BOP there are plenty of stories about the eating of the victims. Mind you there is inherited mad cow disease among the many natives here.

Does anyone else hate the Islander that fronts Vodafone brainwashing attempts?

All these Iwi have been given hoandouts.

Story for toiday. Tauranga’s old police station was built on a piece of ground the natives claimed.
so in a settlment the Govt. gave it back to a local Iwi (one whose ancestors ate others), and then proceeded to tear down the building and build a new one.
All very nice you would think, BUT the local police (in private), will tell you that its a scam and has cost NZ police millions that it didn’t need to.
They now have to pay a ground lease to the natives and we all know what will happen there. The police have this nice new building which before it is complete is already too small in our growing town. According to the PR it’s been future proofed.

Here’s the worst bit.

Because the old building had to be demolished NZ Police spent 2 million + dollars relocating to a commercial building a few avenues south. Of course they will then have to spend more returning to the new building. So say 2.5 million in extra operating expenses when the best alternative would have been to remain in the old building for another year, (not all that long), purchase a greenfield site and build a building that will not be site restricted and very probably would have been in a more suitable place. (oh the bosses wouldn’t have been able to walk to the cafe’s but operationally there were better choices available.)

Makes one wonder at Police Management. But then most police actually know the answer to that when you ask them.

Pisses them off when the local native stands there and says, hey bro I’m your fucking landlord. Treat me with respect or I’ll boot ya out.
