EAD, as I predicted the smarter alarmists are abandoning AGW and manufacturing another crisis to keep the money flowing. They have gone from calling it AGW to “climate change” as part of that process. Before that we had ozone holes and various other bullshit that is not discredited. This is not the end, they are simply moving the goal posts.

We attach way too much importance to the utterances of these weathermen. The fact is climate has so many variables and is so chaotic there is no chance of them accurately predicting anything. They can not even accurately interpret empirical evidence, let alone make predictions.

Kiwi dollar just fell because a few minutes ago the RB stated they will intervene in the dollar.

“The Reserve Bank has hinted that it could beef up its attempts to intervene in the currency markets but says it is ”realistic” about what this can achieve.”

…prompted me to wonder about it being odd that inter-racial, inter-gender and to a lesser extent inter-religious is generally frowned on in modern society but (sometimes extreme) inter-political abuse is accepted by some in politics as just part of the game.

There was also comment from Tom Jackson here at Kiwiblog:

Politics is a blood sport. There are no rules. If you don’t like it, don’t play.

And the political nasties wonder why few support them and why less and less people bother to vote.

They will only get the message that political abuse is detrimental to a healthy democracy and a decent society if enough people give them the message.

And the love described between Ruth and Boaz is not the shallow self–absorbed thing that is described by politicians like Key, Williamson or Wall!

Consummation, the becoming one flesh is inextricably bound up with generating the generations, or where couples are past producing children, at least becoming one flesh with the rest of the extended family……..blood is thicker than water….and childless couples who become uncles and aunts or cousins, as with the case of Mordecai looking after Esther, have the moral responsibility of acting as surrogate parents.

The reproductive organs and whole plumbing system are designed to create new life, but in a way that transcends mere reproduction……. as surrogate parents especially, with their heartbreak, would know.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was right when he said to his niece who was about to get married:

What motive would Dunne have to leak the draft (it was a draft that was leaked) Kitteridge report to that socialist sucking bint Vance?

I cannot see even the slightest advantage for Dunne to have done the “dastardly” deed.
But I can see, given that the media are such godforsaken fools, many reasons for Peters to lie, and to this morning compound his lies by hinting to his media surrogates that he may release his evidence.
Yeah, right.

Me neither. Doesn’t make sense that he would, I don’t see anything he would gain by having done it – there was really nothing achieved apart from giving media some extended coverage.

TV3 seem to be working with Peters – again. They headline: Peters ‘has proof’ of Dunne’s leak

But all they report, deep in the item:

Challenged by reporters to produce evidence, Mr Peters replied: “That’s what we do. These are inquiries you should have made, if you can’t do your job I’ll do it for you.”

I came across this very good article about the rioting in Sweden. The “youths” were actually Moslems. Who would have thought it?

Two ~~Muslims~~ Asians attack in a barbershop in Accrington in the UK, seriously injuring two with machetes.

MACHETE wielding thugs have left two men with ‘serious injuries’ after attacking them in an Accrington barber’s shop.

The two victims had been inside the shop in Ormerod Street when four masked men carrying machetes and knives forced their way inside.

Detectives investigating the incident said the gang attacked the pair before forcing them into the street.

The thugs also attacked a parked car during the incident at midnight on Saturday.

Police said they were alerted to the incident after witnesses called an ambulance.

The victims both suffered deep wounds and had to be taken to hospital by paramedics.

One of the men, a 23-year-old man from Accrington sustained a serious head injury while, the other a 24-year-old man also from Accrington suffered a serious cut to his arm, police said.

Both men are being treated at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and their condition was yesterday described as ‘serious but not life threatening’.

Detectives investigating the incident are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

DI Claire Holbrook, of Eastern division’s public protect unit, said: “We are treating this incident extremely seriously.

“Despite the offenders wearing facial coverings we will endeavour to bring these extremely violent offenders to justice.

“I urge anyone with information about the attack to come forward and contact police.”

Extra police patrols have been launched in the area to try reassure residents. Police said they were looking for a gang of Asian men in connection with the attack.

Note: ‘Asians’ is British media-speak for ‘Muslims’.

A student newspaper at a university in Aussie reprimanded over an Islamic satirical article and forced to take it off their website. In previous issues of the paper they made fun of Catholicism, Scientology, Mormonism and Judaism with no consequences, but Islam is a different matter ey? Looks like they have been woken up to the issues of free speech around Islam.

An Australian university forced the editors of its student newspaper to retract a satirical piece about Islam, fearing violent reprisals from radical Muslims.

The Woroni, a student newspaper at The Australian National University, recently published a series of satirical infographics making fun of Catholicism, Scientology, Mormonism and Judaism.

But the final installment, which mocked the religion of Islam and derided the Islamic view of women as a “rape fantasy,” prompted a stern rebuke from university administrators and some students who claimed that the newspaper had offended Muslims.

The editors issued a broad apology to anyone who might have been offended. Later, when the infographic was published on the Woroni’s website and Facebook page, the university again intervened. The editors and writers were hauled before an administrative review board and threatened with expulsion unless they took down the infographic.

Administrators claimed the piece of satire violated the university code of conduct. They also feared it could inflame radical Muslims.

“In a world of social media, [there is] potential for material such as the article in question to gain attention and traction in the broader world and potentially harm the interests of the university and the university community,” said a statement from the Chancelry of the university.

Satirical depictions of Islam or its prophet, Muhammad, have been known to prompt violence among radical Muslims. In 2005, A Danish cartoonist was murdered after drawing Muhammad, and in 2010, the creators of the television show “South Park” received death threats.

The editors of the Woroni felt they had no choice but to comply, and took down the infographic. The incident left them worrying about the future of the freedom of the press on campus, however.

“Although the issue was eventually resolved, Woroni is concerned about the implications of these events for freedom of speech and, more generally, the role of student publications,” wrote the editors in a statement.

Further comment to my above post –

It looks like it wasn’t even the Muslims who said they were offended by the article – it was other people who were offended on their behalf. And why? Because that is what is being drilled into us – the fact that you can’t offend Muslims or Islam because there will be reprisals. That is part of Sharia law and it is becoming slowly ingrained into the universal consciousness that they are not to be offended. It is becoming taboo; becoming like bad manners, and that is what they want.

It is to do with FEAR, which reinforces the wishes of those who follow Islam. No one cared when any of those other faiths or beliefs were satirized. Even if there were Christians, Jews or Scientologists who were offended by previous articles, it didn’t matter. Even if those groups had complained or said they were offended, it still wouldn’t matter and the university administration wouldn’t have taken any action.

Some US states are mounting a fight back. Consider Kansas:

“Republican Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed a bill aimed at keeping state courts and agencies from using Islamic or other non-U.S. laws when making decisions, his office said on Friday, drawing criticism from a national Muslim group.

“The law has been dubbed the ‘sharia bill’ because critics say it targets the Islamic legal code. Sharia, or Islamic law, covers all aspects of Muslim life, including religious obligations and financial dealings. Opponents of state bans say they could nullify wills or legal contracts between Muslims. Supporters said the law will reassure foreigners in Kansas that state laws and the U.S. Constitution would protect them.”

Well done Kansas. And Australians too are concerned about all this. And well they should be. What did we find in today’s headlines? “Man arrested in Sydney terrorism raid denied bail.” The story begins, “A Sydney man under investigation for alleged terrorism offences has been charged after allegedly making a threatening telephone call to a Commonwealth official.

“Milad Bin Ahmad Shah al-Ahmadzai, 23, was arrested at his apartment in Auburn on Monday night. His home, which he shares with his pregnant wife and stepson, was raided by the Joint Counter Terrorism Team, consisting of officers from the Australian Federal Police and NSW officers. Al-Ahmadzai is alleged to have made a threatening phone call to the Commonwealth public official on May 2.

“Documents also reveal that al-Ahmadzai has been under investigation by the Joint Counter Terrorism Team for ‘allegedly committing terrorism-related offences’ since December 2009. His arrest on Monday came only hours after the Australian Defence Force warned troops to avoid al-Ahmadzai due to hateful material he had allegedly been posting on the internet. The 23-year-old is also due to be sentenced on Friday in an unrelated matter involving the ram-raid of an ATM on Sydney’s upper north shore in July 2011.”

At least one state religious body has rightly had enough of all this. The Presbyterians in South Australia want a ban on sharia law there: “The Presbyterian church has called for Sharia law to be rejected in South Australia. SA-based convenor of the Presbyterian church and nation committee the reverend Stefan Slucki said some of the most brutal aspects of Sharia law were being used in Muslim communities and should not be allowed to gain a foothold. He said in the most extreme cases Islamic leaders had threatened to have Sharia law take over Australian law.”

Mr Slucki said, “We have no problems with things like halal food and those practices but the main problems with Sharia are the subjugation of women, the wearing of total coverings for women, the repression of women in terms of Christian principles. We are also opposed to the totalitarian view of the state (governance). This is an issue that will not go away, just as it has not gone away in the UK and in Canada and other places. People must not flirt with the idea that it would be nice to allow Sharia law to be practised within selected communities. There are already people who send their children overseas for female genital mutilation and then bring them back.”

The article continues, “Islamic representatives yesterday would not comment on the issue of Sharia law and its use in Adelaide. In some parts of the world, the most extreme aspects of the law require brutal punishments such as chopping off hands for theft and stoning of women for infidelity. The criticisms of Sharia come despite the Presbyterian Church being one of the strongest refugee advocacy agencies in Australia.”

Well done Pressies.
But at least we have some resistance mounting. We can use a lot more however. But in the meantime we salute Kansas and the SA Presbyterians!

6. Rt Hon WINSTON PETERS to the Minister of Transport: Why does Civil Aviation Rule Part 67 require that the applicant for a commercial or airline transport pilot licence have no deficit of colour vision to an extent that is of “aeromedical significance”?

I’ve never worked in Sydney, but a taxi driven by Abdirahman Sheik Mohammed Al Raghead rear-ended my car at a pedestrian crossing on Courtenay Place once…

I thought that in a culture where insulting the Prophet is a capital crime, giving his name to a child who grows up to be the kind of muppet who can’t even look where he’s going has got to be a stoning offence at the very least??

Islam is a political and imperialistic ideology with a religious appendage protruding out of the side. It has been that way since Mohammad and his fellow marauders began raiding the caravans of the Quraysh fourteen hundred years ago.

If these people are unreliable sources, then why did you not say so when they supported AGW ? Suddenly all these informed people with access to the latest science and advice have become “wingnuts” in the pay of BIG OIL ?

If they are open to corruption, as you infer, then they may have supported AGW for financial or political gain. Why the double standard all the time ?

I will remind you he is the chairman of the Commons Energy and Climate Change committee, in one of the countries that you claim supports AGW, though the poll shows 17% actually believe in AGW.

In other words all his views are based on faith. It’s not uncommon . Just look at the NZH articles by Bryan Walker and Brian Fallow . Talk about fact free.

Two correspondents i usually dissagree with are, Ryan Sproull and Griff.

The difference between these two is that Ryan has a brain and often does make cogent points.

So Hone Harawira declares the FOOD IN SCHOOLS cartoon racist, but Susan de Voy says officially it’s not – apparently it has to excite actual race riots to be fully racist.

But many seem to have missed that half the adults depicted are elderly Grey Power types, so the cartoon is agist as well – but that is half by numbers, not by cartoon space, because the Maori/Paciic Island characters are wider, so the cartoon is disparaging of those who are circumferentially challenged too, so fatist.
