Bit of a lesson here for all those who love to drop their pants and do an ‘impromptu haka’ to delight the assembled masses. Yeah, nah.

Mass ‘schoolies’ brawl erupts after Aussie mocks Kiwis’ haka

‘A large brawl erupted among “Schoolies” in Surfers Paradise last night when an Australian mockingly danced around a group of New Zealanders performing the haka.

The Gold Coast Bulletin filmed the mayhem that unfolded when the man and one of the New Zealanders came to blows at the beach end of Cavill Mall.’

  why do you assume that Kiwis doing a haka are automatically Maori? I have seen any number of cringeworthy attempts at performing our national dance in public, and most of them have pretty ethnically diverse participants.

  I suspect a bigger problem at play here. I ‘d expect the left to make a big deal of the incident. However I suspect the Crown has laid charges so as to be seen to be impartial rather than do the right thing and acting as impartial , a big difference .
  
  I think the protesters should be charged with obstruction or some such offence as they were clearly in the wrong. It is high time the Crown acted against the criminals and not the victims in these protests.

    At the end of the day, he did drive into people in front of his car whether they should have been there or not. If he’s saying that doing so was the use of reasonable force in anticipation of threatened harm, i.e. self-defence, then that is something that is always determined at a contested hearing. It could be argued that he was lucky not to be charged with reckless driving causing injury (reckless in this context meaning recognising risk but going ahead anyway.) And sadly, folks, it is still not a legal defence to say the victim deserved it.

Obama is making Trump look great already

Dear oh dear! What a sad, sore little loser Obama is turning out to be! “Yes we can!” is turning out to be “No you couldn’t”.

And he’s going to spend the rest of his ‘lame duck Presidency’ being lamer and lamer – apparently when the Democrats lose the system is rigged against them.

He’s on tricky ground here and about to prove once again he’s the worst Pres the US has had for a long, long time – the last thing he needs is a closer look at the votes cast and to see that the 3 million illegal votes cast were all for his mate Hillary the pizza Spirit Cooker.

He may be popular but as the leader of his party – what a shambles he’s left them in. His legacy may be as great as Helen Clark’s with his party also consigned to the political wilderness for a generation (or more)!

  People talking about safety talk shit: life is sacred etc.
  
  Nope life is not sacred and nobody acts that way.
  
  Here’s a thought experiment:
  
  Ask someone this: “Would you do anything to endanger your kids?” Chances are they’d say “Never” or something like that.
  
  Yet those same people will routinely drive a car at 100kph when it would be vastly safer to drive at 60kph.
  
  The truth is that we see safety as a cost that we weigh up in the continual cost/benefit risk evaluations we do all the time: Is it Ok to endanger my kids a tiny bit more to get to the mall two minutes quicker?
  
  It is only after an accident that the parent will think they should have driven a bit slower etc.
  
  Pretty much exactly the same style of reasoning goes on with society at large. We weigh up the perceived risks of a building failure etc and compare that to their utility (some of that being historic value of old death-traps).
  
  It is only after destructive earthquakes that we look back and say we should have chosen differently.
  
  Unfortunately that reasoning is not helpful for many reasons:
  1) We cannot live our lives in constant fear or we get nothing done and end up wasting more of our life than we risk.
  
  If you drive everywhere at 50kph to be extra safe you’ll waste a huge part of your life in the car – more than the amount of your life you’re likely to lose by getting killed.
  
  The same with EQs. Spend your life in a bunker to avoid the 0.001% chance of getting killed and you just waste your whole life.
  
  The same applies to a whole lot of OSH laws too….
  
  2) Spending on safety is emotionally driven. It is a waste of money to spend billions of dollars to prevent a few people getting killed by earthquakes. It would be better to put that money into other areas that have better payback (eg. road safety, suicide prevention).
  
  The same is true of OSH. The new scaffolding laws cost tens – maybe hundreds – of millions per year and perhaps save two or three lives per year. That money would have better payback in road safety, suicide prevention etc.

You would think being the Leader of the opposition Andrew Little would know that the Media ask questions of John Key and he will respond with a answer that will help give him advice on what the voter thinks.So if the Government whats to give tax cuts that is their right to give them if they can afford to do so,but without knowing whether they will or who will get them Andrew Little has called on the government to look after rebuilding and the people involved the earthquake before giving tax cuts. Labour seem to forget about their bribe of interest free loans that they used to win a election a few years ago. The media are pushing the subject not John Key and he will tell you when he is ready.

Giggling sports chatterer Tony Veitch has pleaded guilty to “injuring with reckless disregard” after grievously assaulting his fiancee Kristin Dunne-Powell, breaking her back in four places. According to Veitch’s friends and colleagues at NewstalkZB, New Zealand’s equivalent of Fox News, the fact that six other charges against him were dismissed shows that “that woman” and her friends had exaggerated and distorted everything. Sure, he’s admitted to and been convicted of the most serious charge, “injuring with reckless disregard”, but now it’s time to lay off the poor guy. In fact, the mood at NewstalkZB is close to carnival….

Speaking to Drivetime host Larry “Lackwit” Williams, sports jock Willy Lose, AKA Wiwwy Wose, is just ecstatic: “Awwww, it’s a day of CEWEBWATION for me, Wawwy!”

Larry Williams himself is, of course, loud and aggressive in his praise of Veitch, and relentless in his condemnation of all those non-NewstalkZB nattering nabobs of negativity that spoke out against Veitch for kicking a woman so badly he crippled her. Stirrers, they are, the lot of them!

But, to be honest, no one would have been surprised to hear this crap spilling from the lips of Lose and Williams. They’re truculent and insensitive, but they’re merely the opening act for what is to come. It’s after the 8 o’clock news that things get really vicious. That’s when Kerre Woodham’s night-time talk begins. It’s soon clear that this is not going to be a forum for any kind of feminine solidarity….

KERRE WOODHAM: I don’t think I would show much dignity if I thought people had been telling lies about me for MONTHS. I would want to defend myself against LIES.
FEMALE CALLER: This is two people who have bounced off each other. It was a toxic relationship. And it’s nobody else’s business. I just think people should leave it alone.
KERRE WOODHAM: I hear what you’re saying and I don’t know whyyyyy it was a feeding frenzy.

KERRE WOODHAM: You would hope though, that with sufficient self-control, unless he was fearing for himself and his own physical safety, you wouldn’t kick somebody in the back and break two vertebrae. …It sounded like the most toxic, awful relationship for both of them. It was bizarre.

KERRE WOODHAM: You know, I’d like to know exactly what that charge was! I know one of them was throwing a glass of water– you know, it wasn’t the glass, it was the water.
FEMALE CALLER: Another thing that really bothered me was that woman earlier saying that she must have driven him to it.
KERRE WOODHAM: Yeah.
FEMALE CALLER: I’m sorry, but I have a real problem with that.
KERRE WOODHAM: Mmmm.
FEMALE CALLER: No one deserves to get hit, and no one should hit anybody else.
KERRE WOODHAM: No, I can’t IMAGINE what would justify that unless it was a physical assault where you feared for your own life.

ELDERLY WOMAN CALLER: Tony has been vilified by the media. Most of the crims in this country have name suppression and get way with blue murder. There’s twoooo people in this situation who actually know what happened, and they are Tony and his ex…girlfriend. So in my book, LEAVE HIM ALONE.
KERRE WOODHAM: Mmmm, mmmm.
ELDERLY WOMAN CALLER: I admire Tony for his admitting his offence against his ex-partner. And I see she still hasn’t got a job. Well, I’m sorry, but a lot of us have problems, but yes, I support him, and I am RIGHT BEHIND HIM. That’s all I’ve got to say.

CYRIL: Well I’m not behind him at all. For goodness sakes, seven and a half months community service is all he got. He could have quite easily kicked that woman in the head and done brain damage to her,

Whale seems very fond of the phrase “explaining is losing”. He was at it again yesterday, mocking the attempts of a GNS scientist to respond to people who think it ought to be possible to provide accurate information about the size, nature and scale of an earthquake within seconds of it happening, right down to precise guidance about who needs to evacuate and who doesn’t to avoid a tsunami.

But what then is a body supposed to do when he is misrepresented, his subject poorly or inaccurately reported, and the public given dangerously misleading advice and expectations?

Trump has done well since his election triumph. He’s reached out to some of his foes like Mitt Romney and is seriously considering him for a position in his administration. That’s big of Trump considering what Romney said about him.

Also Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is looking forward to working with Trump in a bipartisan way on a number of issues. A plan to invest in infrastructure will get a lot of Democrat support and his plan to pull out of TPP is also supported by Democrats.

So Trump is reaching across the aisle in a way that was completely foreign to his predecessor.

There’s a very interesting earthquake sequence that has been building just off the coast of the North Island near Porangahau. There was a large slow slip event that started after the Kaikoura earthquake from Hawkes bay up past Gisborne and now this building activity near Porangahau with a number of quakes above mag 4.
There is also a cluster developing near the western end of the Hope fault in the wedge between the Hope fault and the Alpine fault near mount Alexander on the West Coast.

“…..Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has told parliament that Malcolm Fraser’s government made a mistake in allowing Lebanese refugees to come to Australia in the 1970s.

During Question Time on Monday Mr Dutton said that a majority of people charged with terrorist-related offences are second and third generation Lebanese-Muslim Australians.
“The advice I have is that out of the last 33 people who have been charged with terrorist-related offences in this country, 22 of those people are from second and third generation Lebanese-Muslim background,” Mr Dutton said.
Yesterday’s statements came after opposition leader Bill Shorten asked Mr Dutton to clarify some comments he made to Sky News last week.

On Sky News Mr Dutton had said: “The reality is Malcolm Fraser did make mistakes in bringing some people in the 1970s and we’re seeing that today.
“We need to be honest in having that discussion. There was a mistake made.
“Lessons from past migrant programs should be learnt for people settling in Australia today.”
Labor MP Tim Watts took to his Facebook to label the comments “extraordinary”.
“The Minister for Immigration seems to think that criminal behaviour by ‘second and third generation migrants’ (AKA ‘Australians’, AKA the grandchildren of migrants) is attributable to immigration policy,” he wrote…..”

Watts is omitting some important facts:

Nearly all the Lebanese muslims of any generation are on some kind of benefit.

While nearly all the Lebanese Maronite Christians who arrived with the Lebanese muslims – are not on benefits.

Lebanese muslims clearly don’t like our way of life and don’t want to contribute.

Lies, double-talk and deception have the become the hallmarks of U.S. political leadership and this is perfectly illustrated by President Barack Obama.

Contrary to what his supporters were saying when he first entered the White House, Obama was not America’s “first Black president”. His mother was white, making him mixed race.

His mother, Ann Dunham, has been linked to the CIA and that’s a tradition that many suspected Obama continued, insofar as his policies relied on the tools of the trade in the agency: deception and double-talk.

President Obama claims he had wrestled with the question of U.S. involvement in Syria for five years. Yet under his watch the U.S. and its allies in Saudi Arabia and Turkey have covertly backed Syrian opposition groups in an effort to oust Syrian President Assad.

Obama says he concluded that the U.S. didn’t have any legal basis for military involvement in Syria, which is true up to a point. What he doesn’t say is that as a result the U.S. backed a covert operation using Sunni militants in an effort to oust President Assad.

If he “wrestled” with any aspect of the operation it was how much his administration would reveal about the support it was providing; to groups ranging from supposedly “moderate” Syria opposition to Al Qaeda linked al-Nusra.

President Obama’s comments show that he knows that history will judge him very harshly. As indeed it should. For Obama effectively authorised a terror campaign to bring about regime change in Syria.

It failed largely because of Putin’s decisive intervention, which in a matter of months turned the course of war around. Leaving U.S. efforts against the militants looking like the half-hearted, insincere and militarily ineffective campaign it was: in essence a public relations job.

While Putin’s standing is increasing in the eyes of many across the world Obama’s is diminishing. In the end he will be seen as a fraud and a front man for the people who really call the shots in the U.S. That will be his legacy.

Why Trump Won And Hillary Lost

This year, the British people, overwhelmed by senseless and endless mass immigration invading their country—stopped it with their Brexit vote to exit the European Union

British citizens saved what’s left of their country by stopping the immigration flood. The majority of Muslim immigrants feed off the UK welfare system without end. They demonstrate for Sharia Law. They bring their honor killings, female genital mutilation practices, killings of gays and arranged marriages into the advanced culture of first world Great Britain. Other groups of immigrants from Africa change the entire culture and ethos of Great Britain to make it “everybody’s country”, rather than its founders—the British people.

The Brits felt exasperation at their leaders importing incompatible cultures and religions displacing them from their own country.

Brits voted against the “elites” forfeiting their country to mass immigration—much like Canada’s Trudeau, Germany’s Merkel, France’s Hollande and Australia’s Tony Abott. Those leaders forced refugee immigration on their people with no regard as to the sociological, racial, cultural and religious conflicts growing at every juncture. Consequently, Muslim immigrants created the Charlie Hebdo massacre, Paris, France slaughter, Nice, France truck killings, Brussels, Belgium, London, England beheadings…and more to come.

At his “last rodeo” trip to Europe, Barack Obama quipped, “The majority of Americans think I’m doing a pretty good job.”

Such a statement proves his cognitive dissonance and his arrogance in the face of facts…

…When Obama entered the White House with scant experience and meager credentials, our national debt reached $13 trillion. In eight years, he jumped it to $19.5 trillion via lack of any financial acumen. We all pay over $30 million monthly in interest payments from our taxes.

During his tenure, he invited illegal aliens, by refusing to enforce our laws, over our borders to give them housing, food and schooling—but left 60,000 American military veterans out in the cold. The VA failed them because Obama failed.

Obama created the greatest racial divide in America since the Detroit, Michigan riots of 1968. He promoted and praised the anarchist group: Black Lives Matter. He told everyone that the thug Trayvon Martin could be his son. He encouraged violence in Ferguson, Missouri when Michael Brown attacked white police officer Darren Johnson. In the aftermath, black gangs and black Muslims executed police officers in many cities across America: New York, Chicago, Dallas, Baton Rouge and Atlanta.

Unknown by most Americans, Obama employed 10 Muslims as aides to promote Islam and Sharia Law in America. His one aide named Imam Mohammed Magid works full time in the White House to promote Sharia Law in America. Sharia Law conflicts with the U.S. Constitution. One of his immigration aides promotes as much Muslim immigration into America as he can get away with under cover of executive privilege. The Quran espouses these actions known as “hjhra”, another word for “seeding” a host country with an advance group of Muslims in order to conquer that country. It’s working all over Europe and destroying European countries at breakneck speed.

Muslims cannot in any way become Americans. The Quran forbids it. Their entire context of religious-political Sharia Law demands subjugation to their religion with no allegiance to the U.S. Constitution. The Quran forbids women’s rights, marital choice, free speech, gay rights and religious rights. Our way of life remains completely out of bounds to Islam….

…Americans knew Hillary’s platform promises that if she became president, she would flood this country with hundreds of thousands of Muslim Syrian refugees that would wreak havoc in communities across the country. Hillary promised amnesty for 15 to 31 million illegal aliens. Her election guaranteed America’s borders would see accelerated illegal immigration. We must understand one reality: the third world adds 80,000,000 (million), net gain, new babies annually. They overwhelm their countries and create desperate migration to Western countries. But in the end, they don’t stabilize their birth rates, so the line of refugees accelerates:

Hillary promised to fill the Supreme Court with liberal justices who would follow her personal quest for open borders. Note: NPR reported that 85-90 percent of Evangelical Christian women voted for Trump to stop the Supreme Court from being stacked with pro-choice justices.

In reality, the democrats and republicans created Donald J. Trump. They created Trump because for 40 years, Congress and our last six presidents failed to secure our borders and failed to stop “Free Trade”. These actions degraded America’s middle class by stealing jobs and allowed China to manufacture all our mercantile goods. Our poor and uneducated could not secure jobs because of millions of legal and illegal immigrants—taking those jobs.

In a sense, we Americans didn’t realize that endless immigration destroyed the fabric of our society with the insane beast of the 21st century: multiculturalism and diversity. Both don’t work, but average Americans must suffer from the tensions, conflict and religious chaos created by them…

…“Diversity within a nation destroys unity and leads to civil wars,” said social scientist Garret Hardin. “Immigration, a benefit during the youth of a nation, can act as a disease in its mature state. Too much internal diversity in large nations has led to violence and disintegration. We are now in the process of destabilizing our own country. The magic words of destabilizers are ‘diversity’ and ‘multiculturalism’.”

The trouble began in Vynfields. The punters didn’t cause the trouble, not a flicker of it, we were just smiling at a world that smiled back.

TPP had two faults:

It was not about trade between nations it was about trade between nations and multinationals with the latter given power over the former.

It was a geopolitical move by the West to screw the BRICS.

It will be interesting to see if, given the latter which they of course are well aware of want a bar of it, or not. They might see it as a useful vehicle and take it over.

Wouldn’t that be ironic.

And once again, illustrates the profound, seriously profound failures committed by the liberal’s hero, their main man, their global “powerhouse.” One Barack Husein Obama.

If I was a lefty, I’d be really depressed right now. It hasn’t started yet. Wait till the FBI announces what its found on Jan 21st – (watch mm take that date literally and mock me when it comes up and nothing’s happened) – then you’ll see weeping and wailing as the lefties finally realise what execrable scum they’ve been voting for all their lives.
