Coming after Trump’s brilliant Cabinet Room meeting on immigration and the Mexican border “wall”- a meeting that effectively trapped the Dems into being positive – there was a pause, albeit brief, in the US (NZ, Aus. and Europe continued unabated) MSM’s demented ravings on D J Trump. Even the likes of CNN and MSNBC etc. conceded that in that hour-long televised meeting he effectively destroyed Wolff’s work of fiction. It is no surprise that the Bezos/Amazon controlled Washington Post was his only notable critic (claiming that the meeting did not go well), but that was because they did not understand what Trump did to Wolff, the DEMS and to their MSM shills.

Then imagine he defeated the obvious Democratic heir apparent who had been involved in politics for over 50 years and had served as first lady of Arkansas, first lady of the United States, U.S. senator from New York, candidate for president in 2008, and secretary of state prior to becoming the 2016 Democratic nominee for President. ………

Was at BBQ last evening and was talking to a visitor from Wellington.
It appears that she is a senior in the MOT and they have been told that one of the first jobs when they reconvene is that all major road projects are to be “reviewed”. By this I get the impression that costs and timings are to be “reviewed” as part of the agreement with the Greens and that a serious slowdown will be inevitable. She says that it is a long job to undo all that they have done.
It appears that Julie Anne Genter is the noise behind all this.

    To be fair, it’s hard not to see this kind of article. It’s everywhere you look, and is now prominent in the MSM. I think anyone who sexually assaults someone needs to face the consequences but it shouldn’t be done like this via twitter, celebrity accusations etc. if it’s a genuine issue, they should lay an official complaint.
    
    It’s hard not to feel like it’s a calculated attack on men. I spoke to someone the other day who said to me the that we must just accept any accusation that a female makes against a male to be true because why would they make that up. She even said if there are some men who get falsely accused then that’s a price that should be paid by society for this ‘greater good’ agenda.         How we like to forget how little NZ Labour did to help desperate Germans before war outbreak. (1000 only brought in)- Professional groups (Doctors, Dentists, Business people) closed ranks against the

Of course they are.

The landlords who were already running compliant properties, or close to it. There is now a raised barrier to entry. Scarcity increases, and up goes the prices.

Many commentors as usual, were too stupid to see it (Labour voters, obviously). The very same people who – in less than a year – will be wailing about their rent hikes and how there is nowhere to live.

    The way to help tenants and those on low incomes is to significantly increase supply.
    
    What they should be doing is:
    
    zoning new areas for medium density expansion
    incentivising business to establish in these zones
    fund the infrastructure with bonds
    building required infrastructure (roads, mostly)
    get councils out of the way and put them back on rubbish detail where they belong. I doubt they will be capable of it, but at least it keeps them occupied
    
    It’s not rocket science. It is beyond the capabilities of our politicians, it seems.

      Auckland Unitary plan just rezoned a lot of areas for medium density.
      The previous SHA were great at rezoning quickly, nothing much happened in the way of building anything, thats because it was just another profit taking process – rezone and take the money and run.

Some Americans are proud to be able to trace their ancestry back to the pilgrims, for example, without it being a race issue. The various Royal families are an ancestry-based industry.         Civility, which has been taught down through the ages, is simply mannered tolerance, where two people can express freedom of speech in an orderly and productive fashion, however that has now been replaced with ‘tolerance’ which simply means that at times the civilly quiet have to listen to the uncivil loudest; just look at the gay marriage debate compared with the homosexual debate in the early 90’s — gays today are clearly uncivil compared to their elders – likewise BLM leaders compared to MLK. No one would’ve heard of MLK if he had carried on like black leaders today, and black leaders today are making no gains for blacks as they don’t express truths – Barry and Oprah are the best examples of that; Blacks are fatherless and black women make useless fathers, white women are the same, that’s the truth and it should be passed onto the next generation – mothers AND fathers matter. But it’s not passed on out of a preference for ‘tolerance’.

      I know of a couple of individuals born in the US who (after a couple of decades of residence) were granted Japanese citizenship. Legally and culturally speaking, they ARE Japanese, but to Japanese natives on the street in Tokyo, they are gaijin (Caucasians).

    On a crude biological level, a fitter strain of organism will breed at a higher rate, and eventually displace its competition.

Appreciate that “General Debate” is a free-for-all but so often the content quickly degenerates into abuse of those that have contrary view.

Yes, I’m certain that people are coming here to troll but do people have to bite and then escalate. rather than scare the trolls away you are more likely to impact on overall readership.

I find that there are normally heads up to stories I’ve missed but the two-way abuse that goes on around it is tiresome. It is ‘internet warrior” stuff and adds nothing.

Sure other sites may be worse but that is no real defence. Moderation here seems light – surely that is a privilege not a right.

    No one is ever going to catch the Dems using the tools of the surveillance state, engaging in various traffickings like Anthony Wiener, facilitating terrorist organisations like Hizbollah, or Mexican drug cartels, vote rigging, selling secrets to Pakistan, etc, doing really weird things in Haiti, spying on the media with the CIA, bumping people off like Seth Rich and Aaron Swartz and everyone else ever again. No one will ever be given the chance to see how corrupted all the institutions are by the left in the United States, from the Colleges where they coordinate with domestic terrorist paramilitaries and 100’s of individuals are involved in the most awful crimes on kids, to the FBI where they act as an arm of the Democrats, to the NSA which spies on it’s own citizens wholesale under the liberals, to the media that kill every story that doesn’t fit their story and engage in shameless partisanship, ever again.
    
    It’s no one’s fault except Ted Kennedy and his lies and the boomers, but that doesn’t change the facts on the ground.
    
    If DACA passes, 85% of Latinos will vote for the Democrats forever, the South West of the United States by demographic coup will cede to Mexico and America will become a pseudo-communist state comprised of de facto ethnostates as people move away from the spreading La Rasa’s and Detroits, and where the Left will use Trump as an excuse to go full antifa until the people that care about the constitution take up arms.
    
    So it’s a hard choice, and one I’m glad I don’t have to make. But the dems have no one to blame but themselves.
    
    That economic analysis is valid, and true, and a pretty good reason for the failing birth-rate. The welfare state can’t work, and diversity can’t work, if it’s a one way re-distribution of everything. Power, money, opportunities, moral standing, culture, religion – everything. As Christopher Hitchen’s said, they will demand everything and concede nothing. Nothing.
    
    Anyway, glad I don’t have to make the decision. Both are pretty ugly – one will be uglier long term.

      Each of us has a writing style and, for my money, it’d take a person with a special talent to “create” a different writing style and maintain it consistently for a decent length of time.
      
      Kea (using whichever alias he feels like at the time) has shown a consistent modus operandi: gradually ramp up the rhetoric until you provoke a response from someone. Then keep the flame war going for as long as you can.
      
      Long-time Kiwiblog readers will remember Legio XII/Witness – who I suspect were also Kea aliases. Again same modus operandi.

        I remember those names and them attributed to Kea. Again, pretty poor arguments just repeated and shouted.
        
        I prefer a more subtle trolling, you don’t know you’ve been had until too late, with Kea it’s obvious from the first comment.

    Ok been reading most of this and yesterday’s trolling stupidity! Just checking I have this right:
    
    Johnboy makes a comment yesterday inferring “Aldo’s” “wife” is a sheep and offers to shave her (as a put down to “Aldo”), ditto his sisters because they would also have to be sheep too. (Perhaps “sheep” is a euphemism for say, “goat”, as in “Aldo’s” “wife” is a goat “he” shags, as “they apparently do”. But in NZ kiwi humor centers around sheep jokes so easier to use a sheep analogy etc – that’s Johnboy for ya)!
    
    Meanwhile “Brito” takes offence out of nowhere, ignore’s Johnboy’s “your wife is a sheep” parody and instead claims Johnboy is meaning something sinister? Then ridiculously claims everyone else is rape apologists? And continuously defends an obvious troll account (“Aldo”), when we know that it is?
    
    I was thinking last night WTF Brito – this normally isn’t like you – then today it continues?
    
    I never thought Brito as being one of the Kea/RC identity trolls but there are two things in common being displayed by him – constant, repetitive, flame like postings (that ignore the reality of the situation being dicussed) and thread disruption, turning the blog into a sideshow circus.
    
    I suppose the warnings were there previously, eg “Brito” talking to himself (the other week he was in a “drunken” conversation with himself), hmm where have we seen this before & under which troll identity (identities)?!!!

      What do they also have in common? An obsession with the Middle East (Arabs v Jews), religion, “white” people (as in supremacy v subjugation by others including SJW/activists etc).
      
      Oh crikey just after I wrote the above …. reminds me of someone else now with a 3 letter acronym/2nd incarnation … who also bangs on and on about the same things everyday, extensively quoting anti-jew/holocaust denier sentiment??!!!
