MEMO RELEASED!
As expected it’s damning for the FBI, the DOJ and some very crooked people in the DNC, most likely up to and including Obama himself.

FISA warrants gained to spy on President Elect Trump based on Steele Dossier who was paid $160,000 USD by the DNC to produce the false information in the dossier.

Steele’s words about Trump to Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, a senior DOJ official – he was “desperate that Donald Trump not get elected, and he was passionate about him not being President”. This clear evidence of bias was recorded by Ohr at the time but not included in any of the subsequent Page FISA applications.

During this same period, Ohr’s wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research, paid for by DNC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the FISC. Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr later provided the FBI with all his wifes research paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign while concealing their relationship with Fusion GPS and Steele.

While the FISA application relied on Steeles “past credible reporting on other matters”, it ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations.

Furthermore Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that NO surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information.

  Furthermore – The FBI and DOJ were all complicit in hiding the fact that the DNC and the opposition campaign funded a document which was then use to spy on the Republican candidate.
  What’s more is that they never even verified it, and used Yahoo News’ article about it to give it credibility.

      McCain is senile. The undermining of the rule of law was done in Washington by the FBI and DOJ by taking partisan political opposition research and using that by concealing its origin to spy on an opposition candidate.

        The Nunes memo confirms that the American intelligence community began their surveillence of Carter Page in 2013 after discovering that he was acting under the control of Russian handlers. This means their investigation started several years before Trump announced his candidacy in June 2015.
        
        It is reasonable and appropriate for the Amerian intelligence community to investigate the activities of a Russian controlled agent, so Carter Page’s communications with other American citizens therefore became part of their investigation.
        
        McCain sees the situation as it is – as do other senior Republicans. It won’t end well for Trump.

        Gump, nowhere in the memo is 2013 mentions, and saying that Carter Page was “under th control of Russian handlers” is pure bullshit.
        
        The memo makes it clear, the first FISA request that was granted was in October 2016 and was based on the Steele Dossier. No mention is made but several earlier reports have said that an application was made earlier in the year (June or so) with the FISA Court to conduct surveillance of Page but it was turned down.
        
        What’s more, the memo claims that the FBI at the time had not verified anything significant in the dossier, and that they quoted a “separate” report in Yahoo news as correlating evidence without stating that the source for Yahoo was Steele and that they knew this.
        
        The FBI and DOJ knew the source of the dossier and did not reveal that to the court. They knew it was paid research by the Clinton campaign and did not reveal that, a significant material omission that amounts to perjury and perversion of justice.
        
        You’re right that this won’t end well, but it’s not Trump that is in the gun, it is Comey, Strzok, Ohr, McCabe, Yates, and none other than Mueller manager Rosenstein. In order to discourage the US security services from attempting to interfere in future elections I am of the opinion that these people should be prosecuted, imprisoned, fined, and denied all pension rights – pour encourageur les autres as they say.

      Well ABS, I’m going to disagree with you about Mr Farrar covering this. The fundamental truth about our esteemed host is that while he is a CINO, he is an honest, straight up sort of fellow.
      
      It may burn him deeply that he was so comprehensively wrong about Trump and that he continues to have recurring bouts of his Tds problems – however, the titanic nature of this revelation that proves Obama is (as many have long suspected) a crook on a titanic scale that dwarfs Nixon’s itty bitty naughtiness – is starting to look like one of those watershed revelations.
      
      I believe our host is, as he’s done before, biting down on his visceral irrational hatred for Trump and putting together a punchy pithy blogpost examining this issue.
      
      I’ve underestimated our host’s integrity before and he’s usually proven my cynicism wrong.

        DifferentPerspective, I agree with you regarding honesty and integrity from DPF, I have never once called that into question. Most people here would know I have supported Trumps run for President though I had misgivings about his suitability in the past, I always thought he was better than Hillary. I was one of the original “Trump will win” posters here and I am glad to see that my fears about his suitability as President were unfounded.
        DPF can support who he wants but it is becoming increasingly obvious that it’s no longer tenable to stick with the partisan line that the DNC are less corrupt than the Trump administration. That includes Pelosi, Clinton and quite a few staffers in powerful positions.
        When DPF runs his post I am sure it will be factual and will point out flaws in my own argument. That will just ensure that I learn more and get educated on aspects I hadn’t thought of. I look forward to it.
        
        Once again I am glad of the opportunity to comment here, it is the most liberal blog in the country regarding freedom of comments and I try damn hard not to lose that right.
        
        So with that said – Thanks David, I am in no way disparaging of your your blog or the fine people who comment here. If I were to recommend a place to people it would be KIWIBLOG!

        Milhous, let me spell it out a little for you. Andrew McCabe testified under oath that the FISA court application to spy on Trump and his campaign would not have been sought or granted if it wasn’t for the “Steele Dossier”. Fact, undisputed, given under oath.
        
        The Dossier was put together by Steele with extensive help from Ed Baumgartner and probably Nellie Ohr at Fusion GPS. The Clinton campaign (and the DNC and the Obama Campaign fund) paid Fusion GPS via lawyers Perkins Coie- known and undisputed public information. Fusion GPS paid Steele, and Steele gathered his information form “Russian sources” said by Steele to be active in the Putin Administration. Steele himself cannot visit Russia (he is banned from travelling there) so Ed Baumgartner and others were used to collect info that Steele could not get by email or phone calls. That information was paid for.
        
        Now, active members of the Putin Adminsitration do not provide “classified” information to ex-MI6 agents casually, not if they wish to continue being active in any sense, so the FSB, the Russian security agency would be aware of the data being passed and would have approved of it. This is conjecture but very well based conjecture I suggest.
        
        So then we have information being passed from the Russian security agency to the Clinton Campaign for money- if you want to find collusion look no further, there is is.
        
        And this data was then used by the DOJ and FBI by still employed persons before the FISA court with critical facts suppressed like the origin of the data. I doubt that the tamest judge would have issued a FISA warrant based on data known to be from the Clinton campaign.
        
        Rod Rosenstein, the deputy AG who commissioned Mueller to investigate just the Trump campaign was fully complicit in this illegal and deceptive behaviour. He must resign, and with that his appointment of Mueller must be withdrawn. Mueller is investigating Trump for Russian collusion based on material obtained by collusion and obtained from the Russian FSB themselves. The Russians must be pissing themselves laughing with just how gullible and stupid the US is over this.

  Yes it seems to me that the whole Trump Russia collusion story investigation was based on false information bought and paid for by the democrats.
  I’ve always thought that Trump is a Manchurian candidate, a traitor to his country who is only president because the election was tilted by the Russians was incredible.
  Now we see that the investigation into collusion was based on false evidence planted by the democrats.
  Congress should do their job. This whole Mueller investigation is based on a false premise and should be wound up asap.
  
  But Trump is doing what he promised to do in the campaign and that was to drain the swamp. And we can see now that there are swamp creatures who should not hold office and need to be fired.

    Steele & Fusion GPS (Democrat funded), leaked his story to Yahoo News, then pointed to the fact it was in the news to give it credibility to the FBI. Despite Ohr and Strzok knowing it was untrue they then applied for a FISA warrant based on this information.
    Steele was suspended and then terminated as an FBI source for what the FBI defines as “the most serious of violations”.
    They quoted their own fake news to collude against Trump.

      None of that is true. The Yahoo story was used as evidence that the investigation was becoming public and that Page might try to cover his tracks. Steele wasn’t suspended or terminated as a source – the FBI never had a formal relationship of that type with him.

        They paid him, or so the memo claims. So he is a source of theirs as well. They used him before, for example on the FIFA investigation.
        
        The Yahoo story was used as corroborative information to the FISA court to show another source for the information, only it wasn’t a separate source just a separate release of the same info.
        
        Page had no need to cover his tracks, he’s not involved in anything untoward with Russians as far as we know. He certainly has not been charged with anything. He has well known and extensive contacts with a number of Russians, something that is not (yet) illegal as long as it isn’t used illegally.

  House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), who previously created a short-lived firestorm over a non-scandal about “unmasking” names from surveillance, tried his best to assist President Trump by concocting and today releasing a memo that sought to sabotage the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and Trump’s subsequent efforts to disrupt that investigation. After a huge buildup, a scant memo of less than four pages makes the sweeping allegation that Christopher Steele’s dossier was the basis for obtaining a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) Court to conduct surveillance on suspected Russian agent Carter Page. The memo turns out to be decidedly underwhelming and at times baffling.
  
  The memo acknowledges that the FISA warrant was extended multiple times. Nunes finds fault in the application because allegedly the court was not told that Fusion GPS which commissioned Steele at one point was paid by an attorney of Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Without proof, it claims he was hired to find disparaging evidence on Trump (Fusion GPS’s founder disputed this under oath).     Here’s a challenge:
    
    The Clinton campaign and others paid Fusion GPS for opposition research on Trump, the payments made and written off as legal expenses via Perkins Coie, correct ?
    
    Fusion GPS employed Steele for at least some of the research and paid him, establishing a chain of payment from Clinton to Steele, correct ?
    
    Steele produced the dossier given his name containing quite a lot of information, some known to be false, some unverified, and some insignificant points that are true (Eg Carter Page travelled to Moscow), correct ?
    
    That Dossier was presented to the FISA court as evidence to get a surveillance warrant over Page’s contacts and communications. When presented the source of the document was known to th FBI but was NOT disclosed to the court, correct ?
    
    Any real dispute with those statements ?

    I read WO most days but have long since given up commenting there. The reason for my choice is the arbitrary manner with which their otherwise sensible moderation policy is enforced. I note the most brutish Moderator, “Pete,” has recently left but his damage is now entrenched. WO has evolved into a “family fireside chat room” where only colourless subjects are allowed free-rein. It is a shame, however I continue to have some affection for Cameron and the site. “Pete,” was a classic example of when you give a small personality a wide discretion, the discretion dies quickly.

I used to follow it closely as i appreciated some of the political insights, but now find the ‘analysis’ is driven by personal vendettas like about John Key and Judith Collins, and now something about Bill English. Whale Oil simply does not seem reasonable and I all I am after are reasonable arguments from people.
    
    It has way too many random videos, too much content.

      To be fair, Slater needs to support his family and there’s no reason he couldn’t make coin from the blog – after all I’m not so sure he has other saleable talents and his petulant personality would make him ‘the employee from hell’.
      WOBH changed dramatically, and not for the better, when some of Slater’s key sources dried.
      I infinitely prefer the ‘reasoned discussion’ style of WOBH without the silly comments, the personally abusive comments and the foul language that appears here sometimes, but a reasonable expectation that posters not criticise the blog owner became a rule that fawning sycophants only need apply.
      The free blog is not worth the time to visit these days, and I would hope the content you get on subscription is better.

Hence he pushed Winston a being someone (useful idiot?) who could influence National on immigration etc but who would not do a coalition deal involving the Greens. Sure it is a tall order with SO many hard questions to be posed which will increase to greater volumes by the day.   God, I bloody hope not. That would be so OTT and a PR stunt.
  On another note, I see she was wearing those god damn awful shoes – the ones which have a thick strap over the ankle (if you’ve got fat ankles ladies, then it is an absolute no no to wear ankle-strap shoes). Fortunately, for me, I have very fine ankles and a flattering leg shape so can do ankle-strap shoes justice.
  Then she was also wearing a pair of ghastly greenstone dangly earrings – her way of giving to the nod to Waitangi in some bizarre way?
  And wearing a jacket on a hot day?
  The dress was lovely and appropriate for the burgeoning belly as I, personally, am not in favour of pregnant ladies stretching a tight-fighting tube over a bulging belly. Not classy at all.
  I am a fashion critic – I know what looks flattering and what doesn’t do the wearer any justice at all in case someone asks.

      I like that -“Political Frumps”.
      Talk about frumps – we were at the races yesterday and this woman turns up in the sponsors lounge wearing veeery fitting white leggings with some sort of sack on top. Now, if she had a very nice pair of pins and wasn’t pushing 70 – although I shouldn’t comment on the age – it would have been another matter. These tights did nothing for her at all except accentuate every lump and bump and made her look like a tart. Especially when you get a full frontal view of their ‘camel toe’. Oh god, that’s when I just wanted to heave onto the plate in front of me. Most unattractive indeed. Ladies, we need to accentuate our good bits and downplay our bad bits. ‘Camel toes’ definitely out!

I love any excuse to put on my Sunday best! Went to my cousin’s funeral last week and dressed appropriately for the occasion. So next time Winston can no longer claim “to keep them honest.” It becomes a binary choice between National and not National, any National supporter considering a third party will think again.     I do not hold Winston’s negotiating tactic against him. At work we wanted to buy a plot of land for a fairly big ‘zone’ substation. Plots L and N were on the market with both vendors keen to sell. L was the preferable site but we did not tell the L and N vendors that. So we got it for a good price as L was worried we would buy from N. Think L=Labour and N=National, it was a fair tactic on Winston’s part.
    However if Winston had leaked his Superannuation matter with the aim of blaming National and the media of leaking, that would be highly questionable.

I had a hard time believing this article isn’t satire. But with no indication otherwise, I’m working from the assumption that it is meant seriously.

Public restrooms – is it sexist women always have to queue?

The author does not seem to be asserting that men’s bathrooms occupy more square footage than women’s bathrooms. Or that the plumbing is somehow better. Or that they are advantaged in any sense due to greater resources. Yet apparently, because the existence of the urinal allows men to finish peeing faster and using less space, this is dreadfully sexist and must be stamped out.

In a bizarre way (and I cannot believe the sentence I am about to write) this is socialism applied to bathroom queueing times. The author seems to be genuinely proposing that one urinal that might allow four or five men to pee simultaneously be replaced by two cubicles that would allow two individuals of either gender to pee simultaneously. Bathroom waiting times for women would drop somewhat, while those for men would go up significantly. The average waiting time for the overall population would go up. But apparently that’s a good thing, because everybody would be waiting longer equally.

FFS, is this how pathetic modern feminism has become?

The closest it goes to partisanship is the use of the words “troubling breakdown” in reference to the non-compliance with legal process by DOJ and FBI. In fact, IMO, that substantially understates what appears to have occurred.
        
        If your rather blasé view of this matter is that it is nothing more than an exercise in Trump furthering his own interests, then you don’t deserve to get into government and I sincerely hope you never do.

The prominent Swiss academic Tariq Ramadan, a professor of contemporary Islamic studies at the University of Oxford, has been taken into custody by French police following accusations of rape.

A judicial source confirmed to Reuters that Ramadan was taken into custody on Wednesday. A preliminary investigation was opened after two women filed police complaints against him late last year, accusing him of rape.

It then apparently devolved into cross-shouting, with the trans woman being escorted out by security while chanting “white cis feminism,” and McGowan breaking into a monologue. “Don’t label me, sister,” she reportedly said. “Don’t put your labels on me. Don’t you fucking do that. Do not put your labels on me. I don’t come from your planet. Leave me alone. I do not subscribe to your rules. I do not subscribe to your language. You will not put labels on me or anybody. Step the fuck back. What I do for the fucking world and you should be fucking grateful. Shut the fuck up. Get off my back. What have you done? I know what I’ve done, Goddammit.”

People in attendance for the event started saying things like “We love you, Rose” to settle her down, but McGowan wasn’t done. “I’m not crying; I’m fucking mad with the lies,” she said. “I’m mad that you put shit on me because I have a fucking vagina and I’m white or I’m black or I’m yellow or I’m purple. Fuck off. All of us want to say it. I just do.”

And then she yelled about the truth:

“And you can label this thing as a breakdown. That, motherfuckers, is a breakdown. Maybe not for me, but for you. I might have information you want. I might know shit that you don’t. So fucking shut up. Please systemically. For once. In the world. You know what I’m talking about. Just tell the God damned truth. Stop boxing everybody into shit. And then she yelled about some other topics:

“Trans women are women and what I’ve been trying to say is that it’s the same. The stats are not that dissimilar. When you break it down, it is a much smaller population. There’s not a network here devoted to your fucking death. There’s not advertisers advertising tampons with a camera lovingly going up a girl’s body as she’s being lovingly raped and strangled. Piss off. And until you can collect that fucking check, back up. My name is Rose McGowan and I am obviously fucking brave.”

Woman groped at Rhythm and Vines encourages others to fight back

A woman who was infamously groped at the Rhythm and Vines festival has encouraged others to fight back against unwanted sexual contact.

Madeline Anello-Kitzmiller was topless with glitter and sequins covering her breasts at the New Year’s Eve music festival, when a man was caught on video running up to her and grabbing at her chest from behind.

In video footage, which has since gone viral, the 20-year-old struck back, chasing after the man down and slapping him in return.

“Ladies, if you are inspired to show some skin and fight back if anybody ever hurts you, do it,” Ms Anello-Kitzmiller said in a heartfelt video posted on social media.

“Women have been oversexualised for way too long and it needs to stop.”

Ms Anello-Kitzmiller also said that her revealing attire wasn’t unusual at the festival.

“There was actually a stall selling the ‘glitter tits’ get-up and I paid to have it done, as well as many other girls I saw walking around with it,” she said, as well as revealing there was a water slide encouraging men and women to go down naked.

“I saw plenty of naked men that day getting absolutely no harassment for revealing themselves.”

Jolene Guillam-Scott, the artist who applied the glitter, told RadioLIVE on Wednesday that she’s found the response to the incident “overwhelming”.

“It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing or what gender you are, you should not be touching anybody without consent,” she said.

That sentiment was echoed by Ms Anello-Kitzmiller, who also responded to those saying she was “asking” to be sexually assaulted by dressing a certain way.

Things have got beyond a joke since old Clark got rid of all the funny farms. A blatant example of earlier unintended consequences. Police are struggling under the weight of spiking mental health demand, with a new report revealing Tasman police were besieged by a 250 per cent increase in calls from 2009 to 2016. Elsewhere it has seems a 77% increase has been recorded. Perhaps we could seek some of those calls through an OIA since they are “recorded”?

Constable Sally Wiffen spent five days of a six day working week waiting in the Wellington hospital emergency department with a person in severe mental distress. (Don’t any of these unfortunate people have family or friends?)

Tasman police district prevention manager, (A what”) Inspector Tim Crawford, said one person experiencing a phase of acute mental distress could make more than 20 calls a month.(Tempting to try calling 111 to see what they ask callers “What is your emergency? But they are already getting too many nutters).

So instead of using the $100 million set aside in Budget 2017 for mental health the COL have initiated yet another inquiry into mental health. It might also help understand why Nash needs 1800 new police of any shape, size or sexual orientation. The plan is there but like so many other “plans” or visions there has not been any clear plan for funding. Now we see another Clark making a bigger hash of Health than the old crow King and mental health issues than the old ex PM with the woman’s name.
Check out question no 7 from 1st Feb to see the poofter jumping to Clark’s rescue and then Mallard actually telling Clark to try again with the answer. This after yet another POO to make clear the question started with “Was he aware of the $100 million allocated etc”. Lol

The Act also includes criminal offences to penalise the most serious perpetrators, and the Police will handle these cases. Under The Act it can be illegal to send messages and post material online that deliberately cause somebody serious emotional distress.

The Police may prosecute a person or company if:

they intended the communication to cause harm; and
it is reasonable to expect that a person in the position of the targeted individual would be harmed by it; and
the targeted individual suffered serious emotional distress
The court will consider a variety of factors including how widely the material spread and whether what was said was true or not. The penalties for this offence are a fine of up to $50,000 or up to two years’ jail for an individual, and up to $200,000 for a body corporate.

    It is important to keep in mind that these sorts of offences are common even outside of religious groups. This is why it is important to be open about this, so victims, and those speaking up, feel safe about coming out.
    
    Same with those people threatening to harm others.
    
    Wainuiomata man Robert John Gregory appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Wednesday on several charges including sexually violating children and threatening to kill.
    
    The 41-year-old storeperson has not yet entered pleas to eight charges, which include indecently assaulting and sexually violating young girls, threatening grievous bodily harm, and threatening to kill.

But the way they’re dealt with & the consequences for the complainant are vastly different.

Scenario 1#

A kid is sexually abused by the dirty old man next door or even a teacher. They tell their parents, there’s a bit of drama, then the police are asked to investigate. The child has parental support, is generally believed & counselling will be made available if needed. Above all they will end up knowing that it wasn’t their fault.

Scenario 2#

A rabbi, imam or priest abuses a kid. If the kid tells their parents there’s a good chance they will not be believed. The parents have been brainwashed sufficiently that they will not credit that the representative of their imaginary friend would do such a thing even if the evidence is in front of them.

The kid is told to shut up & if by some miracle the courts ever get to decide what happened he/she will be made to feel responsible for the “shame” they have brought upon the parents & community. On occasions the child will effectively be excommunicated from their family & friends.

This is why religious paedophiles are, if it’s possible, lower than their secular co-arseholes. They use the power their simple minded flock accord them to devastate lives & go undetected & unpunished.
