  Um, I don’t wish to rain on anything, but when Ardern announced her pregnancy wasn’t DD being PM discussed?
  Same reasoning given that we have an acting PM (Davis) while she is out of the country and a full PM (Peters) when she is on maternity leave.
  I recall comments about his Parliamentary pension being set at an average of his earnings, and how the PMs salary would boost his retirement income.
  Perhaps I wasn’t paying due attention, in which case I invite correction from wise KBers.

I wonder if DPF and others in Wellington understand the sheer scale of Labour / Green support in the radio, television broadcast operations, TV production, film production, advertising etc in New Zealand most of which is in Auckland. It’s practically uniform and we’re talking hundreds of people who are in a position to influence, and do, subtly, every day in many ways – I will post an example that has gone completely under the radar tomorrow in GD.

But back to the tawdry Curran / Hirschfeld scenario – the National Party must use this. Not to get rid of the relic Curran whose career is over but to expose the agenda of (at least) RNZ. The next National administration (won’t be long) must begin the rout on Day One.

All it takes is some intestinal fortitude and two twists of the wrist to turn the money tap off. The Left controls the narrative

    It was crystal clear every time she told a lie – it was the blush of her bosom that gave her away. With every porky she uttered (and there was a string of them) her chest went a deeper shade of red, such was her inner shame. By the end of the interview she looked like a Frigate Bird, I had to check I hadn’t flipped over to some David Attenborough programme.
    
    Expect to see Claire Curran, the “Minister of Open Government”, fronting for all her further tv interviews wearing a polo neck top. ( The more cynical would suggest a full-face crash helmet or a hijab would help too). Labour’s media experts will have to try to eradicate Curran’s default position of telling porkies – bizarrely she chooses by reflex to tell a lie, even when she doesn’t need to.

        Also, I think you will find not all of Israel’s neighbours want her destruction. Egypt and Jordan once did, but have now made what has thus-far proved to be an abiding peace of many years. But if one is convinced your enemy will never change, nor that you should ever yield an inch (which seems the Likud policy’s) and everything must be done your way, then no, little likelihood of peace.         It demands absolutely nothing from the Palestinians. It simply reiterates a vision of a two-state solution.
        
        It is a pro-terrorist resolution and it is fundamentally flawed because it does not recognise that one side wants to annihilate the other.
        
        And Yes you are correct that Israel is not threatened by Egypt and Jordan (at least not at the moment). They recognise Israel’s right to exist in peace. And they have gained much from their peaceable relations with Israel.

        And yes, I agree, unless the Palestinians accept Israel’s right to exist, there can be no lasting peace, and the likelihood of Palestinian state is next to nothing. But unless Israeli settlement of the West Bank desists, there may very soon be little, if any possibility of a viable Palestinian state. Palestinian acceptance may take some time,…but Israeli annexation of territory by conquest, stealth and increment is the pressing issue that could permanently derail any hope of future negotiated peace.

  The reality, the Palestinians of Gaza planned a protest at the border (involving a tent settlement until May 15) over their refugee status (most of the Palestinains in Gaza are 1948 era regfugees).
  
  Israel told them not to go to close to the border fence, or they would be killed (they sent in hundreds of snipers). Two picking parsley from a field near the fence were hit by a tank shell, those killed since unarmed men in Gaza territory shot by snipers.
  
  Reminds me more of unarmed protestors shot in the streets of Damascus some years ago, than justified self defence by Israel.

  The reason for these over reactions is all the post-event inquiries. These require all the evidence be captured from an uncontaminated (and safe) scene.
  
  In a more rational society we’d just take a few pictures then tow the vehicle off the road and get a fire engine to hose the road down if there was blood.

  I’m utterly with you in respect of traffic accidents. The cops treat every vehicle death as a potential homicide, ever since they missed one a few years back. It is almost always completely pointless, and any cost/benefit analysis would tell them to get on with clearing the wreckage and letting traffic flow. But in this case, it’s a police killing, and they will be meticulous because if they miss anything, they will be pilloried.

There could be be a possible assumption that Hirshfeld and Curren were conspiring towards making Hershfeld the new CEO in July when the role becomes possibly vacant.
She and Curren are of like mind, against the current bosses current thinking.
So why tell the current CEO that his job goes then.
Hershfeld is a highly respected and paid executive as well she and her husband Finlay McDonald is believed to also have a very successful business in the Radio and TV production – particularly in the Maori world.
In any other business Hershfeld would have been given the same resolution – instant dismissal.
Curren should go also – no doubt that she instigated the meetings and conversations.
No – it was just a casual coffee meeting – sound like the liar has been caught.

What is Labour and the Coalition doing about fuel pricing after spending the last few months leading up to the last Election complaining Judith Collins and National were letting the Fuel Company’s rip off customers and especially those in the low wage bracket. I went to Te Kuiti on Friday and petrol their seems to be the cheapest in the Waikato being several cents a ltr cheaper than Huntly and Ngaruawahia with the BP Station being 10 cents dearer in Ngaruawahia.

  An interim working group has been formed and will report back with initial findings. Then a parliamentary committee will be established to look into how a permanent oversight committee can be established.
  However a pre-interim working group will first need to be formed to determine the breadth and scope that will be required.
  All of this will probably need to be overseen by a commissioner, so another working group will need to be established to consult with the government on possible candidates.

Until the Board of Cricket Australia resigns and is replaced nothing will change. Its all about culture. The culture of any organisation is set at the top and flows downwards.Just as the fish rots from the head so the tone is set at the top.

The Board of CA hired the CEO. The CEO hired the Coach. The Coach selected the players.

So each took their lead from those above them. Mind you as with the Curran affair as a fervent Black Cap supporter I dont want to see the Board go. I want to see CA in a state of chaos at least until we can whipped their sorry arses a few times.

Whoever is responsible for the Herald artcile, clearly they really do believe NZers are gullible suckers – and we do have them because they voted for her.

Try to reconcile Ardern’s statements:

Oh, isn’t she just wonderful. Vomit can’t touch her and hey, you women out there, it’s your job to pretend you have no problems, deal with everything in isolation, and just keep working, working, working no matter what you may be suffering or how you may be damaged by it. Do I believe that ‘no-one knew about it’? No.

“But I think the beauty of children, at least I know this to be true of my family, is that they draw you away from that thing, and just make you have that wider perspective…”

Really? Is that why she and Labour spend their every waking moment politicising children – even her own – to convert their existence to political tools and prevent them having any ‘innocent’ childhood. The children certainly don’t get to have the ‘unicorns and rainbows’. They’re joining in political meetings from the womb to maximise their indoctrination and make full use of them for political purposes – the good of the Labour Party. Nothing more than convenient political tools. Just imagine what it’s going to be like when she breastfeeds in Parliament – pictures all over the world, perhaps a flash of nipple in the name of ‘women’s rights’.

I wonder what the ‘wider perspective’ is as well. Apparently, it’s not changing an iota of her life. Just what ‘guilt’ is she suffering from that she consulted with Obama on, in this picture of perfect womanhood? Once they’re a little older, children are bribed with alcohol, drugs, and sex, engaging their natural ‘experimentation’ to discover the ‘dirty side of human nature’ – and with the ever-present politics. No ‘fairy tales’ for them. It’s all hard reality from go to whoa.

‘Trump’s treatment of women, she said: “All I know is that is something I can control and feel responsible for. And I know what I feel comfortable with, so when that comes to the way we portray women for me it’s just how I like to be treated, how would I like to be talked about, how would I like my mother to be treated and talked about, and that is the lens that I apply.’

Really? Once again, back to the alcohol, drugs, and sex. Did the Labour camp reveal how she would like her child or mother to be treated; a predator with his hand shoved down their pants grabbing their genitals – the way they ignored the kids, tolerating sexual assault? Or the parents? Does the behaviour of the women in her government describe the implied standards for women? Lies, blackmail, use and abuse of children, sewing as much division in society as they can achieve.

And speaking of division, then there’s the men. They get no such consideration. They’re apparently never children. They’re, as Genter describes, ‘old, white men’ and Ardern’s hang out in underwear sections making ‘awkward’ requests of her. But she doesn’t let that get to her because that’s when she interacts with ‘people’ – which apparently is a group ‘men’ don’t belong to.

In addition to all that utterly mythological gloss, she says she tries to ‘find ways not to inconvenience a whole raft of other people’, immediately after saying she makes life particularly difficult for her Police protection squad by ignoring them completely.

“The wonderful police officers who spend time with me I don’t think appreciate that…”
I daresay they don’t. They have a serious function to perform. They’re probably also all/partly men who she clearly despises. Just as well that she’s far too meaningless for anyone to ever threaten. Having said that, I think she unconsciously despises everyone including herself.

This vacuous rubbish is rivalled only by Trudeau – her idol. My response to her is the same as the Indians was to him. More like disgust and contempt. Thank Heaven the world isn’t treated to Theresa May or Angela Merkel telling us about buying their underwear or going for milk. But then, they are serious world leaders, seriously concerned with real issues. I can’t imagine NZ ever having a PM who is such a total airhead and makes NZ look so utterly ridiculous. Vapid would be a compliment and she’s doing nothing for the status of ‘women’. One can only hope this article is a product of April Fool’s.

  No. The resurrection of the widow’s son in Nain occurred in Galilee (Luke’s reference to word of the incident spreading throughout Judea refers to where Jesus was headed at that stage in his ministry), as also did the raising of Jairus’ daughter.
  
  So that leaves Lazarus, Jesus Christ himself, and the intriguing passage in Matthew 27: 52-53 (a later textual interpolation?) where the saints who had died were disturbed in their graves by the earthquake at Jesus’ crucifixion, and then appeared in Jerusalem after his resurrection
  
  …which occurred in Judea. Oh, yes, and Tabitha/Dorcas was later raised to life in Joppa by the Apostle Peter, which, while part of Ancient Philistia, was then part of Judea.
  
  So, no, not “quite common”. Still very unusual hence the miracles/signs were remembered, and then the oral and later written accounts were preserved. ?

        Winston Peters of NZ First made it clear with his Party’s coalition decision October last year, that a continuation of the modified status quo was not acceptable and change was required.
        
        That was obvious.
        
        Therefore … they went with Labour.
        
        The jury is very much out on this government. Since Christmas …it’s performance on housing (e.g Unitec) and transportation (e.g light rail Downtown Auckland to Airport) have been disasters.
        
        The wider public has high expectations the Labour – led government will ALLOW ( in reality the building of affordable housing is currently politically BANNED … that’s all) the development and building of increasingly affordable new housing on the fringes of our metros.
        
        This current government will be judged rather quickly and harshly on this.
        
        My view is that if we don’t start seeing this happening by the end of the year, we will start seeing serious political instability emerge (and possibly earlier) … as this current government fractures under intense public and media. pressure.
        
        It is all shaping up to get very ugly indeed.

Parker better than expected, needs a better trainer

What a good performance against a bigger man with a better fight-plan. Parker has whiplash speed and bullish strength but it really looked like he wasn’t prepared to fight a fighter with reach, height and a good jab. Looking at Joshua you’d have to say, what were they training for if it wasn’t a plan to deal with reach and strong jab?

While he’s a bit on the short side for a modern heavyweight, he does look the complete package. I suggest that all he needs is a top level trainer and team around him. Barry was good enough to get him there, Barry isn’t good enough to help Joshua reach his potential.

The Telegraph called the refereeing pitiful, but Parker declined to blame the ref, saying, “I’ll be back.”

A good performance going the full distance against a boxer with so much longer reach.

“Stop the forced rating sale of my home! How is Auckland Council lawfully compliant with its own ‘Rating Sale Policy’?”

“Today (Saturday 31 March 2018) the forced rating sale of my freehold property was publicly advertised,” says ‘anti-corruption whistle-blower, Penny Bright.

” I have contacted the Barfoot and Thompson agent, and advised him that I do NOT consent to anyone ‘viewing’ my property, and that I am raising this matter directly with the Attorney-General because I believe that lawful due process has not been followed by Auckland Council.”

“The Auckland Council Rating Sales Policy (CP2013/01403) states:

“14: The rating sales process is outlined by the following steps:

1. legal proceedings are initiated, and a court judgment issued with a Charging Order (registered on title documents) against the property.
..

16. The power to enforce a rating sale comes with a significant responsibility to ensure that the power is not used inappropriately.

A policy on rating sales has therefore being developed to ensure that there are clear rules regarding rating sales.”

“The ‘Composite Computer Register Under Land Transfer Act 1952, that I have, (search date 8 March 2017) hows no Charging Order registered against my property for the Judgment Debt of $47,431.76, given in the Auckland District Court on 18 January 2017.”

It appears that Auckland Council CEO Stephen Town, has not followed Auckland Council’s ‘Rating Sale Policy’.

‘Anti-corruption whistle-blower’.

PS: A ‘Give A Little Page’ will be set up ASAP, because a number of people have requested it.

The goal will be to raise the $20,000 to cover outstanding rates, and the money will be deposited into a solicitor’s account.

This money will be held there, until the Public Records Act 2005, s.17 is fully complied with, regarding transparency and accountability in the spending of public monies on private sector consultants and contractors, and the following information is published on the websites of Auckland Council and all Auckland Council-Controlled Organisations (CCOs), under ‘Procurement – Awarded Contracts’:

* The unique contract number.

* The name of the consultant / contractor.

* A brief description of the scope of the contract.

* Contract start / finish dates.

* The exact dollar value of each and every contract – including those sub-contracted.

* How the contract was awarded – by direct appointment or public tender.

There will be a LOT of good that comes from this draconian municipal bullying of an unprotected ‘citizen whistle-blower’ in New Zealand ‘perceived’ to be ‘the least corrupt country in the world’, and WE ‘turn this bad thing into a good thing’!

I’m fighting for transparency, I’m not wrong and I’m NOT backing down.

  Hang on a minute, you want to use Give a Little to have the public raise $20k to cover outstanding rates … but you won’t be paying the ACC instead “money will be held there” (in a solicitors account) “until the Public Records Act 2005, s.17 is fully complied with”.
  
  In other words you intend to continue your “get-nowhere” crusade against the Council (in which the matter has escalated to the High Court anyway) and clearly have no intention to pay your outstanding rates charges?
  
  Meanwhile the High Court will turf you out anyway whilst you devalue the house sale costs due to your protest actions, meaning you’ll end up with less money to buy a new house?
  
  Good grief woman, just pay your rates and keep your house, keep its value (and keep campaigning), how hard is that?!!!!

  Penny there is a point where Law is a game. Where the Courts are involved it’s stacked against you unless you are powerful enough to pay high legal bills in the possible multiple filing, responding and hearing processes. These may have to be met up front. Lawfare is for the rich and powerful. Justice can be a straggler.
  
  You may have a good argument about Council and transparency but they have the force of Law . You can protest defect but the outcome can be determined by what a judge had for breakfast. You cannot show payment for a long time so that speaks to many of lack of good faith. It does not help in discretionary consideration.
  
  Rating is viewed as a local tax so it is unfair to others for you not to pay your share. Everyone gets the same say about the reasonableness or otherwise of Council expenditure. That puts you immediately off side with the principles of fairness and the legal system including the AG. To expect others to be fair to you they expect you to be seen to be fair too.
  
  The choice is retreat or martyrdom. Why not live to continue the fight. Get together what you can however you can and reluctantly and pointedly pay duly protesting. Rally the Cause.

  It only needs to be compliant with sections 67-76 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002.

      Just responding to your comment above, Penny said there’s no charging order registered against her property based on a title search dated 8 March 2017 – last year. I think we can safely assume that Auckland Council has tidied up the paperwork since then.
      
      Penny doesn’t seem to realise that the matter is now with the High Court, so her silly negotiation game with Auckland Council is pointless. Not the sort of behaviour that I’d expect from a purported rule of law expert! (Perhaps she needs to attend another conference to refresh her memory on the basic principles?)

So it now turns out that Penny hasn’t got the money. I’m pretty sure (but can’t be bothered checking now) that she’s previously told us on Kiwiblog that she had the money set aside in a separate account. If so, she told a barefaced porky.

And Sacha makes an interesting point at The Standard:

It could easily be considered fraudulent to solicit money from the public on the basis of mis-reading the Public Records Act as a law about publishing information. It simply isn’t. You have been told this repeatedly.
