We can see now how devastatingly effective language manipulation and long term, relentless repetition of lies can be, when left unchallenged.

Don Brash made a speech about equal rights for all races, in line with the ToW and basic democracy – essentially he made a challenge to racist privilege.

Over nearly 15 years years, this high-achieving, highly-regarded NZer’s reputation has been steadily distilled right down into one word: Racist. It now defines him. They pulled it off, no question.

Ask the guy with the stop/go sign at the road works to describe Don Brash in one word, he’ll tell you.

  Yes and on Red Radio this morning, that was the sentiment of Hone Hariwera about Brash & concurring with the decision of Thomas. On another note it is good to hear Up a Debating Society are standing firm with regards to their invitation to Brash.

    Hullkiwi:It is reassuring that once again I do not agree with Hone Hariwera. Dr Brash is the epitome of a thinking person who is NOT a racist or a bigot. Hone’s fundamental persona is that of a racist and a bigot. Let him be that. What is deeply disturbing for thinking Kiwis is that the VC of one of our Universities bandies about terms like racism, terrorism as though they are interchangeable with pondered thoughts and philosophy. NZ is losing its soul to the hordes of ranters and thugs who occupy our streets, our workplaces and now our Universities. What is worse is that we have an idiot for a PM who doesn’t (simply doesn’t!) understand. The Dark Ages are here!

  Over the past week my wife and I have been confronted by the amount of propaganda masquerading as education being fed to our son.
  
  The first instance occured when he said he couldn’t have a glass of soft drink because it was too much sugar. We then had to talk our son through what he had eaten/drunk that day, so that he could see he had had very little sugar. In this instance what is galling is our son is 9 1/2, is 1 metre 37 and is skinny as – not over weight by any stretch.
  
  The second instance was last night after a supermarket ad, informing viewers that in 2 weeks time they will be stopping single use plastic bags. Our son saw this as Good, because of the environment etc. Once again his understanding had been informed by what he was being told (as learning) at school. Again, we had to point out that what he has been ” taught” is not as cut and dry as it might seem and in fact despite the propaganda the only single use plastic bags are the council rubbish sacks (you buy from supermarkets etc.) or plastic bin liners you buy from the shops and that reusable bags or paper bags are possibly just as harmful to the environment.
  
  Coming back to my point though, in this age of politically correct speech and thought, I find it frightening how much propaganda is fed to children who are as yet too young to question the validity of what they are being told. Certainly, in our home we encourage our child to question, but what of those homes where the family do not question what they are told?

    Daughter has had to sit through several lectures on “white privilege and systemic racism in NZ” as part of her tertiary course. She laughed it off as complete bullshit but most telling, a Maori classmate was in total disbelief of it all and couldn’t believe they had the front to push this crap.

      I think the generation going through school at the moment are a little more savvy than the 20 somethings. They dont seem to be sucked in to the green propaganda and are happy to make up their own minds. Our boy’s school even had a debate about the existence of AGW. Surely that would have been shut down at Massey

    Im so glad my kids are now out of Primary School and they enjoy secondary school so much more. Mainly because they’re actually learning something.
    We had a holiday at the Great Barrier Reef and our nephew said he learnt about it in his primary school. I asked did he learn about the intricate ecosystem and wonders of nature. No he replied, just the fact the reef is dying because of global warming and we need to act now.
    The part of the reef we visited, that had heavy tourist traffic, was beautiful with no bleaching and teemed with wildlife.
    
    Why dont primary schools teach kids?? Teach them some maths, english, science and language other than Maori?

  I admire Brash and the Hobson’s Pledge itself is very reasonable and most NZers would agree with it. But if you have a group like this you absolutely must keep the nuts out, or ensure what they say is not linked to your group in any way.     Ms Thomas told media that the Police were notified of threats of violence. The Police say there was no such notification from Massey.
    
    Someone’s not telling the truth, and I don’t think it’s the NZ Police. Ms Thomas should resign.

        3-coil, I agree with you. With the case of Thomas, it is not surprising when you have the likes of Paul Spoonley as one of Massey’s Pro-VCs also. Spoonley typifies the the thinking of the loony left. If, you caught the TV1 Sunday programme on Southern & Molyneaux, you will have heard Spoonley talk about “white colonial middle class guilt and the problems that causes in ethnic communities. When you get that emminating from the mouth of a “Distinguished Professor” on public TV you have to question what is being fed as academic learning to students at Massey.

    Dime – that is quite a different matter.
    If consenting adults choose to go along and hear a speech on a topic that interests them, or read a newspaper, or see a film, no one has the right to prevent them.
    The Wicked Campers’ slogan were a public billboard, often using language and themes not best suited for general exhibition. If WC want to express those views they should make sure the audience wants to hear them, and many folk said they didn’t so Bennett acted at the request of the electorate.
    The difference lies in the ability to choose to hear those views or not.

  What the Canadians revealed is that Gower doesn’t have an interviewing style or method. He is simply a loudmouth who believes that talking over and down to people is a technique. it isn’t! An interviewer is there to discover others’ thinking and choices. In other words, the task is beyond Gower I understand Lindsay Perigo has offered to debate the Canadians with Gower, as of yesterday Gower hasn’t responded. I doubt he will.

        They can close the 100% overseas owned outfit down today for all I care.
        We taxpayers are paying $400,000 per week via NZ on Air to keep TV3 going.
        This in money that could be used wisely elsewhere like nurses etc…anybody but these asses.
        This is the first time I ever saw that TV show. What a pack of bobbleheads. Just Yuk!
        
        The You tube channel has 319,000 subscribers so way more than ever watch TV3 (fake) news, plus there will be more who watch and don’t subscribe.

Good morning. Could someone kindly post the Leader of the Opposition’s statement or statements condemning the shutting down of free speech in this country? No doubt his Office has issued a formal statement on the appalling banning of his predecessor Dr Brash by the VC of Massey? I feel certain Simon Bridges will also have taken the PM to task for her dog whistle encouragement of the thuggery that shut down the two Canadians? So far I haven’t had any luck finding these statements but they must be out there somewhere?

I have no doubt that the Vice Chancellor of Massey University was emboldened in her decision to ban Don Brash by Jacinda Ardern’s support for the thugs who managed to shut down the Southern/ Molyneux speaking event. I would rejoice to see Simon Bridges and the National Party as a whole take the PM to task for her confused attitude to free speech but given Bridges’ own dithering commitment to free speech and lack of any fire in his belly I fear I am to be bitterly disappointed.

    I can see why Mr Bridges might be tentative about what he says. Reputation trashed over very little for Mr Brash.
    I think Bridges is doing the right thing by going round the regions speaking to ordinary people and trying to gain their trust and respect – frustrating though it is that he seems to have little cut through on some issues.
    If he can connect with the hard working, productive and emotionally stable people in the provinces then there will be opportunities for him to be an effective leader.

The last few weeks in NZ the right to “free speech” has taken a battering. The fuse was lit by members of the Islam community approaching Auckland Mayor Goff complaining about two Canadians who would be speaking on “free speech” in an Auckland rate payer funded Building.
Goff used the word ‘security’ to ban the use of the hall.Not forgetting maybe some truths would be highlighted regarding some of the objectors.
Subsequently NZ and Canadians were denied the right to express “free speech” in another venue.
Now just yesterday one of the most likeable and tame NZsDon Brash got dumped off a NZ taxpayer funded University.His crime was to talk about what it was like when he was the leader of NZ National Party. The woman who runs the University made a unilateral decision to ban big Don making a so called “free speech” on his previous role in National Party.
She also quoted “Security”,from who or what
The real truth of all the banning of the right to “free speech” is the fact that NZ has been taken over by “FAR LEFT LUNATICS” all hiding behind the guise of so called security. That banning is just a start. Wait until the next phase by the “Far Left Lunatics” an attack on even the thought process, if they dont agree with it.Perhaps we are there already.

This morning Red Radio had three articles/interviews in a row which summed them up to a “T”.
First they had an Unite Union comrade on who repeated the mantra that “Capitalism has failed”. Did they ask him what he would replace it with, NO, the interviewer had trouble getting their tongue out of this arse.
A climate “Change” Scientist who said that its doom and gloom and in 25 years the ice caps will melt etc etc. Didn’t they say that all this in 1980.
They interviewed a “Democratic??” Reporter about the wild fires but within three sentences she turned it, with help from Red Radio, into a rant about Trump. They all but said the fires were his fault because he criticised the Gov of California.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid the Labour is. Yesterday the queen of stupidity, Carmel Sepuloni said they might get rid of drug testing for beneficiaries because according to their dopey stats only 1 in 277 tested failed the tests. But we know that in western countries the percentage of regular recreational drug users is around 10% or more. The same thing was observed in elite cycling and athletics, the IAAF and UCI anonymously surveyed those at the top and some 33-57% admitted to taking PEDs in the past year but they only ever catch 1%. They simply wait to be tested then “hit up.” So obviously the testing system needs improving not removing, we’ll have a completely out of control situation if they do. Mind you wasn’t Sepuloni’s mum done for benefit fraud. Probably a self-serving measure to protect her own family and friends.

Through all my earlier life, probably the most celebrated ‘nobility’ in the species, and in other species, was the notion of a mother defending her young – the lioness defending her cubs. The world has long recognised that, while women were (and are) generally considered the physically weaker sex, it is the height of stupidity for anyone to get between a mother and her progeny, especially to threaten the latter. Most women will probably have had the experience of having various fears of spiders, the dark, or sundry other things – but once they have children, they can walk through fire for them when required. And that not only applies to daily matters but sometimes even in protecting their children from nightmares – I can remember my mother saying to me after one such description – “I would never let that happen to you” – with such force and commitment that I believed her absolutely.

Now, however, the maternal ‘badge of honour’ and ‘nobility’ is about death. Mothers should have the ‘courage’ to abort their children in the womb if they doubt their ability to look after them, readily give them up to others for adoption, or abdicate all parenting to professional child carers so they can go out and serve economic goals. Children are the last priority, to be dragged around as convenient social appendages and/or a reluctant submission to biological instinct.

It seems the final vestige of ‘nobility’ of positive motherhood has gone – even animals are not allowed to demonstrate positive motherhood. It’s a crime worthy of death.

“After a cow attacked a man who came to the aid of a screaming woman in South Auckland’s Totara Park, the cow was sent to the slaughterhouse along with the calf she was clearly protecting. Yes, that’s right. Despite two humans being in the centre of the highly maternal bovine space, the cow and calf’s lives were abruptly terminated.
The woman said she saw the cows acting strangely before they charged. “They were following me with their eyes. I was actually on my third loop of the park, I’d passed them two times before,”

I mean, what could be more important than a human being having the right to invade the space of a cow and calf in a threatening manner. How dare that cow try to protect her baby! Pretty much like our legal system treats mothers/fathers trying to protect themselves and their young from abusers. I suppose we should be grateful the mothers/fathers are only prosecuted and/or jailed.

The cow, well, we showed her. Her attempt at protection was futile. They’re slaughtered. The cow won’t do it again. Presumably we’re breeding them to favour those prepared to cast off their young just like we do.

He marches agianst male sex crimes. Well done Davis. How about female sex offending? Once you include lying about being on the pill, and paternity fraud females commit more sex based crimes than men.

He is a White Ribbon Ambassador. This aims to protect women and children from DV. Men don’t need protecting and must take responsibility for all DV. This is an obscene and bigoted view that in no way represents the reality of DV or who the offenders and victims are. Both genders offend and both genders are victims.

The feminist block in parliament can’t even allow a summit on men’s health, and other social issues but allows anti mate rhetoric on a daily basis.

Well done Puppet Davis. We won’t make you apologise for being a man. A real man wouldn’t have done what you did. Have a promotion instead.

ANZ is to become the first bank in New Zealand to remove all sales incentives for its frontline retail sales staff.

The 25% slice of frontline staffs’ “scorecards” attributed to sales, will be done away with on October 1.

ANZ’s managing director of retail and business, Antonia Watson, says retail staff will still be incentivised around good customer service and other aspects of banking such as product knowledge but there will be no sales component.

    Still, the mere fact that a man thinks he is really a woman and can physically become one just by saying he is, or by cutting off his dick, suggests a certain level of mental instability to begin with. Yet society has been programmed by liberals, now in major positions in the medical establishment and in government, to believe that we should go along with these fantasies rather than trying to help the person with their gender dysphoria.
    
    This wouldn’t work in any other area of psychiatry, such that if a person thought he was a cat, for example, that we should make laws to practically force society to go along with the delusion. To allow him a cat bowl to eat from at his school and a dirt-filled litter box in the school bathrooms to shit in. It’s really not that different with transgenders. It’s a mental delusion, and we’re all being asked (and in some cases forced by law change) to play along.

        That’s an interesting question – and I appreciate your constructive approach to this discussion. I’m interested in hearing other people’s views on the question you’ve raised.
        
        Instinctively, my answer is no, because Christianity and Judaism perspectives are deeply embedded into Western society.
        The fact that you or I might identify something “bad” about Christianity and Judaism doesn’t mean that it should be banned. Take Nasska. He’s a Kiwiblog reader with strongly anti-religious beliefs – Christian or otherwise. I can’t speak for him but my sense is that he reserves the right to laugh at those with religious views but doesn’t want to see religion banned.
        
        So what’s different about Islam? Would it be fair to say that Islam is distinguishable from other religions in the sense that it can be incorporated into a legal system (Sharia law)? And, from there, would it be fair to say that those who seek to live in a Western country but demand women-only swimming pool times and Sharia courts are unable to fully integrate?

    You have a touching faith in the rationality of hate, Odakyu. To an extent you’re right: they do control who they target. The problem is, who manipulates them, and who sets up the targets and how can they maintain the focus on those targets? Trump, for instance, focused on Mexicans, Africans and Muslims, but his supporters have gone on to enthusiastically target Jews as well. I have no faith in the ability or the integrity of Trump-lite types such as Boris Johnson to get it right.

      An interesting hung-jury trial in Auckland on the taxi driver accused of trying to grope the radio announcer.
      
      To assure us the jury system can survive in a multicultural society, it might be helpful if statistics were kept of ethnicity of accused and jury composition, plus the jury’s decision.
      
      If a jury system isn’t sustainable under multiculturism, we should move to judge-only trials.
      
      I think it’s fair, that if New Zealand is to transform into a multicultural society, it should review old institutions and systems that will no longer work.

        Jury trials have to be seen to be fair and accepted as being fair, as well as being fair.
        
        The problem for a multicultural society jury is that no matter what it’s composition its decision is likely to be rejected by one or more of the cultures of a society.
        
        If you try to overcome this by ensuring juries themselves are multicultural, how do you make it precisely multicultural? How will the selectors account for mixed races?
        
        Members of the public are still likely to base their views of a jury decision on their own particular culture. For example:
        
        “There were too many X’s on the jury.”
        
        “It’s not fair that there were only so many Y’s on the jury.”
        
        “If there had been one more Z on the jury, the decision would have been different.”

        To answer your question: It would be great if, instead of pursuing multiculturism, NZ pursued and succeeded with a policy of assimilation. Then people would not be “pigeon-holed” by their ethnicity or culture.

    I speak French and Spanish semi fluently and I can usually get the gist of a conversation in Hindi. I have done stage one Mandarin Chinese (just called ‘Chinese’ in Chinese hahaha) at uni and I have travelled widely all over the world.
    
    Some cultures are better than others and I don’t think sticking your tongue out and threatening them is a civilised way of greeting people, and I’m not at all interested in learning Maori.
    
    Its their nasty violent tribalist culture that gets my back up. Contrast the Maoris with their close relatives, the Hawaiians; also Polynesians, but in Hawaii the greeting is ‘Aloha’ (meaning love) and the cultural markers are the Haku Lei, their beautiful melodic music, broad smiles and the hula. Racial cousins but literally worlds away culturally.
    
    The Maoris (I use the ‘s’ because I am writing the plural form in English) claim to have come from Hawaiki. If so, I reckon they were expelled from there because they were bloody trouble makers!

    I strongly advise against using Te Reo or anything to do with Maori culture, without first getting legal advice.
    
    When ever anyone uses a scribble that looks a bit like a Maori design, or a word, or a movement of the human body, Maori are screaming about a treaty breach and demanding $$$
    
    Maori are walking away from it all and I suggest you do too.

Apparently, Alex Jones has even been banned from Linkdin, where he uploaded nothing. It’s been a total purge by big social media corporations acting in tandem. Nigel Farage has put forward the idea that Facebook, Youtube and the rest ought to be seen legally as publishers (which they aren’t at the moment) so that they can be sued and at least held to some standard. They have too much power at the moment. Social media really is one of the main communication mediums right now. What would it be like if Vodafone, Spark, and Slingshot got together and decided to ban someone from using the telephone network because they didn’t like what they were saying over their phone calls?

    mm, the “terms of service” that Facebook claim they have is that they are a neutral platform where anyone can say anything. That was supposed to be the idea, anyway. Notably, hate groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter still have working accounts on those sites.

So was driving along the gravel road listening to the Magic radio station when the host suddenly interrupted the flow of Elvis Presley and The Supremes to opine that he was puzzled by yesterday’s events at the University.
He quite understood the two “WHITE SUPREMISCISTS” being stopped from speaking, but didn’t agree with Don Brash being banned.
It tripped off the tongue so glibly that white supremiscists bit, and we wonder why people out there just accept it as fact.
A man on the radio told us so it must be true.

I’d say both, but then I’m against anything and everything Collins does because clearly she is a poisonous idiot who offers nothing positive to New Zealand. Nothing at all.   I had a great laugh at the “fake news” story. It was made up by our leading fake news source to attack other news services, and even quoted Snopes, a massively bias fake news site, in support.
  
  Google put Snopes at the top of searches about things political to give a far-left spin. They lie something terrible. A few days back they ran a cover story about something defending Obama and said Trump started the rumour a couple of years ago. Trouble is a Google search showed reports going back many years way before Trump was running.

    I read that Milt. Disgusting. The plight of Indonesian maids is no better. Massive crippling international sanctions should be implemented on Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. They need to learn a bit of humility and sending them back to the stone age should do it.

It’s a guest visit from me tonight.

I’ve been tapering down this year, but had my birthday over the weekend and joined the 50’s club.

And my sister in law brought me a birthday cake and told me I should lose weight. All that sugar has put me on the booze again.

Anyway, the cake has gone now, and the red wine has been finished off, so back to tapering down!
