    Yes, as do the Greens. According to them, the traditional Kiwi lifestyle uses way too much space, energy and meat.
    
    The globalist Left/Green view is that world resources are very limited and must be evenly shared.
    
    So: Kiwis need to realise they are too well off and must share: space, food, carbon ‘allowance’.
    
    Because the world belongs to everyone, Kiwis should obviously stop having children altogether, so that we can make space or at least produce food for those whose culture demands that they keep overbreeding.

  Regional flying (up to about 1000km) is on the cusp of a big revolution with small electric turboprops entering service in 2-3 years at half the operating cost of conventional planes. Smaller vtol air-taxi planes of 2-300km range will enter service about the same time at something like $20-30 per 100km per passenger – about the same as Uber.
  
  Point is that these are small and quiet planes that don’t need light runways, and can service everything in NZ except international flights.

    A “turboprop” is a propeller driven by a turbine engine. There is no such thing as an “electric turboprop” and there never will be. There may be light electric powered planes. However I am unaware of any commuter planes on the horizon powered by electricity. I mean planes that can carry at least 30 people with a range of at least 400 kilometres.

    hmmm I’m not sure how the obstacles facing EV’s don’t apply to EA’s.
    
    Lift capacity and range require larger batteries, larger batteries weight more, and don’t ever weight less (whereas liquid fuel loads do) and VTOL requires even more energy.

  I can’t see the problem. Firstly, it would be a secondary airport. So the volumes would be modest. Secondly, looking at a satellite image, I can’t see many houses within a thousand metres of the end of the main runway.

      At 1 km the planes will be at 1600 feet. When they pass the first houses at 2 km heading north on the main runway they will be at 2400 feet. That is not tree height.

  Actually this isn’t quite true. The runway runs almost NE – SW. To the SW is open agricultural land largely, and NE you have Greenhithe just south of the approach line, the the next residential area is Albany which is also actually slightly south of the approach line. If they route planes in from the North, most would swing just north of Albany.

When Winston became aware of superannuation overpayments, he immediately dropped what he was doing in Wellington, and flew (possibly at our expense, but what the hell) to Auckland to personally arrange repayment within 24 hours.
“I subsequently received a letter from the area manager thanking me for my prompt attention and confirming that the matter was concluded to the Ministry’s satisfaction.
“I am grateful to the Ministry for their courtesy and the professional and understanding way they handled this error. Like the Ministry I believed the matter had been put to rest … I just said, ‘give me the total figure and I’ll pay it off immediately.'”

And now that his Government has become aware it has a $7.5 billion overpayment …

  “XR has a hardcore programme of revolution. As Richard Walton former Head of the Metropolitan Police Counter-Terrorism Command notes XR are an environmental resistance group with links to anarchist groups and violent terrorist groups.
  “The ‘civil resistance model’ they espouse is intended to achieve mass protest accompanied by law-breaking — leading eventually to the breakdown of democracy and the state. Obscured from public view, these objectives mark Extinction Rebellion’s campaign out as an extremist one that seeks to break down the established civil order and liberal democracy in the UK”.
  They recruit claiming to use the Ghandian ethos of passive protest to swell their ranks. They are in fact linked to anarchist groups such as the Anarchist Communist Group (ACG) and Rising Up.
  As Walton notes:
  “Many followers of Extinction Rebellion are completely unaware of this secondary objective, despite it being readily espoused by their leaders in YouTube posts of their speeches and in their publications. Celebrities, politicians and members of the public have been seduced into believing that Extinction Rebellion’s methods and tactics are honourable and justified, when clearly they are not”.
  Its aim is to “destroy capitalism” and our democracy – and its environmental demands are merely a move towards that.
  A report published by Walton shows that XR aims to achieve a total breakdown of the state and democracy and to achieve “a fundamental change of the political and economic system”.
  According to Rising Up’s manifesto, all private businesses must be abolished and it should be “illegal for any enterprise other than the state and local co-operatives to create the nation’s money”.
  One of Rising Up’s founders, Roger Hallam, is a key figure in XR. He says that XR “will bring [the Government] down and create a democracy fit for purpose and yes, some may die in the process”.
  The Red Brigade pays homage to the original left-wing terrorist organization, based in Italy, responsible for numerous violent incidents, including assassinations, kidnapping and robberies during the so-called “Years of Lead”. Formed in 1970, the organization sought to create a “revolutionary” state through armed struggle, and to remove Italy from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The Red Brigades attained notoriety in the 1970s and early 1980s with their violent attempts to destabilise Italy by acts of sabotage.”

It is the National Party members in Botany who decide who their candidate will be. Chris may or may not win the nomination. The Party hierarchy can lobby the local membership to support Chris and cynics could argue that the pre-selection process could be used to eliminate any other strong contender but that carries huge political risk.
If he fails to win the nomination there, he could get involved in a Labour held electorate and put in the hard work there – door banging, working the phones, fundraising and building up and motivating a team to do similar. If he does well with this he would be likely to be given a decent list position.

    I caught a report about the Aussie bushfires on the telly. Frightening footage and stressed people. The inevitable association with global warming (or whatever they’re calling it this week) was made.
    They chose to completely ignore the fact that regular bushfires have been such a feature of the Aussie environment for millions of years that some species have evolved to become entirely reliant on them to initiate germination of their seeds.

    There was a report a few years back about the bush fires in Australia. They were only occurring with more regularity because (just as in America) greenies refuse to let home owners clear enough land around their dwellings or thin back forests. What happens if there is a fire then, is that all the dried up vegetation is so close that it spreads.

  It’s not so important that we go on and on here, but I use every opportunity to discuss the climate fraud when at dinners, barbeques etc. The number of intelligent people that have no idea of what is going on is astounding because they only hear the accepted narrative. Once a few facts are explained, it’s not hard to get the point across that the science is not settled and there are major arguments about exactly how the atmosphere is warmed. Once the seed of doubt is sown, they will start to do their own searching. I always suggest Patrick Moore as a starter as he was a Green Peace co-founder.

In the multicultural enrichment files we need to add the case of Sweden. Sweden used to be a low crime country with a relatively homogenous population. Now since the immigration of thousands of young men from Islamic countries the crime rate has soared. Apparently the incidents of rape have gone up massively and blonde Swedish girls are dying their hair black to escape the attention of predatory migrant men.

But it has been reported today that the soaring Swedish crime rate has not gone unnoticed by its neighbours. Denmark to reintroduce border controls with Sweden due to rising violent crime in Sweden, the progressive utopia.

Let that sink in. That’s the so-called multicultural enrichment right there. You don’t think it could happen here??

    If it were up to him, I suspect that is exactly what he’d like to do. However, he believes he has a duty to his Queen and country, to the Commonwealth and indeed to his sons, and he’s done and continues to do it the best he can.
    
    Certainly, that best is flawed and has occasionally failed. Which of us has never put a foot wrong in all our years? Which of us would deal half as well with the unrelenting pressure, ill-informed judgement and often downright nastiness that he’s faced every day for decades?
    
    Now if you don’t want NZ to be a monarchy, it is absolutely your right to think so. That the families of the Pike River victims are cynically used as pawns by the Government when Labour is in need of a polling boost.

That Robertson colluded with Makhlouf in describing National’s website search as a ‘hack’. Robertson proceeded to give Makhlouf a glowing speech in his farewell, while gently chiding him in public.

The identity of the Minister’s son responsible for the sex attacks during the Young Labour Conference.

The identity of the person in the PM’s Dept responsible for the multiple alleged attacks and rapes over the last two years.

That Ardern knew of these allegations well before September 2019.

That Mallard is the most biased Speaker since Margaret Wilson, and possibly even outdoes her.

That the Government’s actions to ‘solve’ poverty and homelessness have been a failure. The statistics have worsened.

That the ‘emergency benefits on demand’ policy, and consequent huge increase, have resulted in these benefits being used for things like travel to Australia to watch the Warriors, holidays in the Islands, new i-phones and laptops, Sky and Spark Sport subscriptions. Things most working NZ’ers have to budget and save for.

That NZ has suffered through US tariffs and trade sanctions due to Ardern’s personal abuse of Trump, after her first UN tour.

That Peters was not in hospital due to a leg injury from playing rugby.

That the letter the Associate Minister for Transport wrote to the Minister contained a threat that the Greens would pull out of the coalition entirely if he did not delay Wellington Transport projects.

That when Ardern said negotiations for support packages were underway with Albert St businesses, she lied.

That Winston Peters and Shane Jones trade policy for donations.

That Health outcomes have universally worsened under this Government.

That the Charter Schools, successful in lifting a few disadvantaged kids up from the bottom of the pile, have effectively been wiped out by this Government, and replaced with nothing useful.

That despite holding all the Maori seats, the deprivation statistics for Maori have worsened. The Maori caucus is inactive and invisible. Gains made by the Maori Party while in coalition are dissipating. Treaty settlements have reduced to a trickle.

While we are told there are plans to address mental health, nothing is in place two years on, and suicide and other statistics continue to worsen.

The Government is trying to limit the ability of parents to get the best for their children’s education by replacing donations with set funding from the Department. Outcomes for children and communities will worsen.

The great ‘single use plastic bag ban’ (it was never single use) has been a failure in terms of plastic bags in circulation.

  I would agree that the charter schools meant that kids who were not succeeding in the state school system had an alternative where they could succeed. Unfortunately for ideological reasons and to appease the teachers union Labour got rid of charter schools by lunchtime. And the mainstream media never really reported on this.
  
  National introduced the charter schools at the urging of Act but never really believed in it and never introduced more than a handful of charter schools.
  
  Again this is the gap in parliamentary representation. We need choice and innovation in education not the same old state schools teaching an increasingly left-wing curriculum. We need someone with the balls of a Donald Trump to actually introduce new ideas and not the same failed left-wing prescriptions.

And unlike the imagined feedbacks with CO2 in the GCMs, there is a real cooling feedback with extra snow as the albedo is increased.

  JLR is such a fool (so are his advisors).
  
  If JLR (and his advisors) had any brains then JLR should have stopped criticising National and Simon Bridges (once he left National last year) and stopped his continual whinges to the media, and started to work constructively and positively with them, then there could have been a possibility that National could have offered JLR a lifeline to remain as an independent MP.
  
  Because it wouldn’t have mattered in the scheme of things due to National’s high party vote support – under the MMP system National can afford to have a couple less electorate seats (as long as those seats are held by other supportive centre-right/right parties or individuals) because MMP reduces National’s list ranking to maintain (MMP) “proportionality” due to them dominating the electorate seats (numbers).
  
  JLR is either too thick to figure this out or is just too much of a fool for being used by his advisors in their attempts to attack National.
  
  Instead now, why should National support JLR who is out to wreck them? Bye-bye JLR …

    Clarification to better understand para 3 …. by having a couple less electorate seats means that National’s party/list votes actually go up. Yes it sounds crazy and stupid but that’s MMP for you!
    
    And that’s what happened in the 2017 election, because National won over 50% of the electorate seats and over 50% of the list seats, the good ol’ MMP system reduced National’s list votes to maintain overall proportionality. Another reason why MMP disadvantages the two big parties (National and Labour) but rewards the minor parties (Greens and NZF) by increasing their list votes (at Nat/Lab’s expense). As I said it sounds crazy and stupid but that’s the way MMP works (which is just madness, surely there is a better system out there)!

      I think most people misunderstood MMP when we were all voting for it.
      
      I think most people – myself included – thought there were going to electoral seats and separate pool of list seats.
      
      ie. Electorate vote goes to elect a representative and all the party votes are then used to divvy up the pool of list seats.
      
      That would give us the best of both worlds.
      
      But what MMP is is really a proportional system that is front-loaded by electoral votes. This removes the incentive for parties to win electorate seats, except of course for cup-of-tea deals etc.

We go to a lot of Chinese restaurants [peaking duck is my fave] and from what we hear is that the majority of NZ Chinese would chose not to live under the CCP.
A waiter was telling us last night, he can only hope National and Labor do not chose candidates associated with the Chinese Communist Party. The pro-CCP NZ Chinese are a tiny minority and a real concern to this countries democracy.

This statement has also been backed up by Richard Prosser who is now living in the United Kingdom , both men reiterated that they were not responsible for the leaks.

      I have often written on KB in favour of immigration for NZ if we have the need for workers, enough infrastructure, and if the chosen immigrants are high-achieving people who share our values.
      
      Instead, masses of unvetted young men entered Germany and some caused enough problems to make it impossible for women and gays to walk safely at night in places like Cologne. Bollards have to protect people from deliberate vehicle attacks in outdoor spaces such as Christmas markets.
