  I had high hopes for NZ in this series. This is the strongest side we have ever had, but the senior batsmen simply have not performed I’d be very surprised if Australia doesn’t win the third test just as easily.

    It was a under performing Australian side in some respects, Smith would have been disappointed with his 85 and 7, he has raised the bar so high it will be interesting to see if he can keep it there.
    I thought Brendan McCullum showed what kiwis need to show.
    He gave the Williamson a few tips and told him to get a smile on all the dials irrespective of the result.
    This is not The best team that I can remember, there are batsman and bowlers that would need to do a lot more to be earning their spot in next test.
    They are playing a formidable team with an excellent coach on home turf, monumental task, hopefully Sydney is a competition and not a thrashing, time will tell.

The “lefty scum” MSM is one of his targets; non-principal ratepayers being allowed to vote in local elections is another. The fact that he can do nothing about either of these issues ensures he is constantly and endlessly dealing with overwhelming paroxysms of rage.

Today’s instalment features two young women who have 12 children between them – most of whom are in care.
Illegal drug users are generally selfish people, so can anyone tell me why they keep having children when drugs are obviously more important to them than the welfare of their children?
They can pay for and consume meth as easy as you like, but can’t use contraception. How come?

  The carbon credits market at the national level is difficult to implement because the prices have to be consistent globally to be traded.
  Bankers have traditionally bought in one market and sold in another picking up the differences. What is effectively being encouraged is increasing global banker power.

  The Superannuation Fund invests much of its money through big international fund managers.

  It’s not only Green stuff. The NZ Superannuation Fund is in Jacinderella’s Christchurch Call. It is one of the international investors which are collectively engaging with owning companies of Facebook, Google and Twitter.

  Things happen a lot faster and last longer if there’s money to be made out of it, than they do if the government tries to make them happen through regulation.
  
  Rejecting a means of tackling climate change on the basis that somebody might be making money out of it is exactly why the Greens have struggled for traction. It can’t be that much of a problem if you can afford to be ideologically picky about who and what is allowed to help solve it.

    “Climate” will do what it has always done and we either adapt or die.
    
    Personally I see the change as going both ways with time and the “colder time” as being more destructive to mankind than the “warmer time”.
    
    Now, because greta and ardern won’t get traction if climate change is perceived as being of benefit that side will be suppressed but wait until the cold cycle begins and if these twits are still around I wonder if they will finally be regarded as the fuckwits they really are.

        I believe that there is little that can be done to make an impact as it is a natural phenomenon. For example, how do we mitigate the effects of “White Island” type eruptions.

        How does bankrupting New Zealand mitigate the hundreds of coal power station being commissioned around the world? Imposing a “tax” doesn’t stop something happening, it just makes it more expensive so the whole enterprise is a pointless con to increase the wealth of few at the cost of many.
        
        I am much more concerned about pollution than climate change. We will adapt whatever direction temperatures move in but pollution will sink or kill us all eventually.

The Woke rabble would make New Zealanders ashamed of colonialism.

The real shame would be in being ashamed of colonist ancestors. We can be as proud of them as Maori can be of theirs.

The word colonist comes from the Latin root “colo” – to farm, to cultivate. Romans saw farmers as the moral and mililtary backbone of the nation, writes Peter Jones in his very readable “Quid Pro Quo: what the Romans really gave the English language”.

“Agri” meaning field was joined to form “agricola” another word for farmer.

He cites Cato:

” … when our ancestors would praise a worthy man, their praise took this form, good colonus: good agricola. One so praised was thought to have received the highest commendation … It is from the agricolae that the bravest men and the sturdiest soldiers came.”

Colonies were self-governing settlements outside of Rome that became means of providing livelihoods, typcially farming, for retiring soldiers. They spread Roman civilisation in Western Europe.

In the 19th century, British colonists endured months of risky sea travel to reach New Zealand. Other arrivals included British veterans as soldier-settlers. Earlier, tough English, Irish, and Scottish paroled convicts manning whaling and sealing ships settled on the coast, especially in the south, and intermarried with Maori.

These were tough, adventurous folk, just as were Maori who arrived earlier by canoe.

The taxpayer-funded “commemoration” that has tried to denigrate Captain Cook is a hint of what is to come in the drive to re-Maorify New Zealand, right down to language.

We can help the kids, who face school indoctrination in revisionist history. We can ensure they are not ashamed to be descended from colonists.

We can also demand the leftist, unionised teachers, concentrate on fixing mediocre standards in maths and English, rather than on revisionist history.

    They created land on which has grown an agriculture-export based economy from which we enjoy a First World standard of living.
    
    They were hard on native forests, but the farmlands and, to a much lesser extent, the exotic timber plantations that white settlers created enabled this country to sustain a population of 4 million or so, whereas the hunter-gather economy of the earlier, Maori settlers sustained at best quarter of a million people.

  Yes Chuck Labour and Andrew Little don’t give a fuck about people that are dangerous and shouldn’t be on our streets and they proved that with what their enquiry over the sex assaults by a staffer working out of the PM’s office and treated it like the interns were at fault. You could bet your bottom dollar if it had happened to family of the Justice Minister he would have been calling for there heads.

    Tiny homes certainly do have their place and are udeal for certain people in certain situations. However, unless the home is on its OWN piece of land (ie, land the tiny home owner has actual legal title to), it is only an oversized caravan (as greybeard has pointed out), and as a result subject to the whim of the landowner. House trucks / buses are in the same category, a small but important detail that seems to be overlooked by those who partake of the nomadic lifestyle. If things between the owner of the land and the owner of the tiny home / bus turn sour, then, ‘Sorry, you’re gone’ and there is no legal redress or claim. Always something to remember if contemplating such a lifestyle.
