That looks like the real difference. Jacinda has the charm, the nice talking, the warmth etc. While that may be what a child needs, what the NZ worker needs is work, this means business confidence.

I have far more business confidence in Judith. Already after less than 48 hours she has talked about getting rid of the RMA and working out each MPs portfolios. Getting rid of the RMA means we can produce things at a cheaper price. The less it costs us to produce the more we export and the less we import.

    I don’t think she has even congratulated Judith on her win. I would have thought she could have swallowed whatever and done the decent polite thing. I remember Todd congratulating Jacinda on her handling of the pandemic, without any problem whatsoever. Just goes to show the true person.

That is the choice in a nutshell.
In fact one of the most unkind leadership styles is to promise cuddles and then deliver kicks. Jacinda has kicked in turn farmers, oil and gas workers, tenants, landlords, law abiding citizens, patients, the list goes on.

  No totally. My 23 year old son, who leans left on most issues texted me yesterday to announce he is voting Judith Collins. He has been suitably impressed by her initial interviews and sees a sea of difference between Ms Collins and Miss Ardern. Maybe others in the younger generation are noting the difference between smiles and substance

    Bro – My friends, who are well educated and earn five figure salaries are voting Labour. You know what the reason is? – “She is beautiful and kind”. When I told them Cindy will slap high income tax, their answer is they don’t mind paying for a kind beautiful person who saved lives. Sadly there are a huge number of NZers who feel they have been ‘saved’ by Ardern and will vote for her without any knowledge of what competence is, nor its value. This unthinking allegiance will be the source of countless psychology/sociology papers written from the ashes.

    If Cindy is made to look like a naive little girl in the debates then the stardust will fade. NZ has a soft spot for strong leaders – look at the reverence we still have for piggy Muldoon.

  I have an employee that likes Ardern i asked him why he said its because he heard her talk once and she sounded nice i then asked him what he thought of race based surgery lists and if he thought apartheid belonged in NZ his response “i guess if they need it sure” this is the level of i dont really give a fk that we are dealing with, admittedly i was once the same way and i can understand why people switch off when politics is mentioned but that sort of low information thinking really concerns me when our very future is on the line

      No other than his political leanings he’s a valued employee of many years and a top bloke but i do like to push his buttons on occasion like when i gave him a MAGA (the Ardern variety) sticker for his car, that didn’t last long under his welding torch but i still have heaps left so the fun has just begun

        He’s voting for a living.
        
        I don’t know what you pay him but that’s largely irrelevant —- anyway he hears things like ‘WFF payments and childcare rebates’ from the government, media and his wife, and that is what he then does – he votes for it. He has no incentive to work for that money, and voting to have your taxes reduced, as you are paying for it.
        
        National need to go back to promoting opportunity instead of outcomes.

Nope. National Party vote 2002-2005 and 2011-2017 (ACT in 2008) and electoral vote National all that time because the MP’s not bad and nobody else is close enough in votes to matter.

But after nine years of Key and company, and having observed the heart of the party in the form of retired MP Wayne Mapp’s comments on Bowalley Road, The Standard, No Minister, and here, I’m done with National.

Party vote ACT from here and perhaps even the electoral vote just for the hell of it. Sure, I doubt they’ll make headway even in coalition with National because unlike Winston First they don’t know how to negotiate and the condescending squishies of National simply wave them off.

But it’ll be better than feeling like I’ve been had.

David will be in the middle of this, advising on the way to go, but it’s a fine line between holding Ardern to account and straight out attacking her. My guess is aggressive personal attacks will backfire big time. Bloody hard with such a short time to go. Judith needs to be in the news all the time but she needs to engage with Ardern. And she seems to be ignoring her.

Remember last year when the UK Conservatives were wiped out at the European elections and Brexit was looking to be dead. The Conservatives chose a new leader and then big election win followed. It doesn’t take a lot to turn things around and I have a feeling Judith is going to tap into something. I have just noticed a couple of people already liking Judith’s choosing people based on ability philosophy.

  Judith isn’t tapping into their insecurities, I think instead most swing voters – of any demographic or identity group as everyone has their house on this – would know Judith’s past and see that as security in what are very uncertain times. And she is leading National, known to be – recently sound – with the economy and social matters. Stability correlates with prosperity.
  
  No covid is one thing – but no job, no money and no hope is another thing altogether; benefits don’t pay bills — and that is what Judith may tap into. 😎

    I thought it was an article of the faith amongst the right that the govnt couldn’t create jobs so what exactly is the plan? You could cut taxes but in the face of declining demand this really does fuck all. National can’t complain about Labour racking up more debt through social spending yet allocate 31 billion to roads. Cutting benefits and public spending while engaging in tax cuts would alienate large numbers of voters. I can’t see how this incentivises anyone on the centre to vote National at all.

I’m just pleased the head to head debates will not now be overshadowed with the screaming skulls of the feminatzi, and far left drop kicks in general, that a man (Bridges/Muller) was bullying a poor woman….now let the debates begin!
Any fake tears or looking rattled/ being upset by Arden in any debate will be taken off the spin doctors tactical list.
