A man of many talents….

and before stephieboy writes something disparaging again about this gentleman… he might want to check up on non-linear predictive modelling;

and he might want to give us his opinion as to whether Ashley Bloomfield was dissembling when he took a high-turbinate nasopharyngeal instead of a proper covid-19 adult nasal test.

You are the first person whom I have seen in print pointing out that Bloomfields ‘sham’ swab was in FACT taken from his turbinates…NOT the nasopharynx .
Hardly promoting his credibility imo.

He’s definitely showing a lot of promise. I honestly think he will be an effective Leader of the Opposition in 2021. Before you all get your knickers in a twist, I mean this genuinely, purely based on current projections.

      You are under estimating the fear of Sheeple for Covid. That fear will ensure Cindy is swept to power with absolute majority this time. She will defy MMP and get majority on her own. No doubt about that. Judith has no effect as a leader.

Certainly a great read. I knew nothing about him until this article, and found it very interesting. He will be a formidable Minister of Health (hopefully later this year).

Interesting though, I read it on the Herald’s website late Wednesday afternoon. Then when I looked for it yesterday morning to link to in General Debate, I couldn’t find it. It came up in a google search, but not in the Herald website search. Have searched again now, and it still doesn’t come up on the Herald search. It says 0 results, even when I copy and paste text from the article into the search box.

I have found the same when searching for negative opinion pieces by Heather dPA and Barry Soper last week – they stay on the Herald page for a short time, and then disappear and don’t come up in a Herald search, only in a browser search.

Yep I read it earlier in the week. It was in the Newsroom mail outs that I get, from memory. I’ve had some email correspondence with him and he seems like a real nice guy and he does definitely know his shit. Whether or not he’s a contender for party leader or not, that’s another story. Let him make his bones first and see how he goes with his current job. I have plenty of faith in him, but all the technical expertise in a particular field, doesn’t always make for a good politician. What happens if you give him a portfolio such as Justice or Internal Affairs, that are subjects that are not within his area of expertise? That’s where I would also like to see him gain experience and show his capabilities before I would start making suggestions about his party leadership potential.

Great interview.
But I take issue with what he says about being able to contact and deal with maori in some of the more remote areas of NZ.
These maori have no problem with getting to the TAB, the pubs, the aluminium fishing boats dealers and the Ford Ranger dealers: why is it so hard for them to make a doctor’s appointment ?
