We need to move faster’: Climate Commission lays down challenge in final advice.
Are the people of New Zealand going to put up with being told what sort of careers or work they will be able to do, how much they can earn in business’s they have owned for years and what they can eat without interference from others well this will be the likelyhood if Rod Carr, James Shaw, Mike Joy, Jacinda Ardern our Prime Minister with the help of the Labour Party and Green Party are working towards.
Let’s face it climate change does exist just not in the form that many activists would have you think and if they get their way on these maters and it is passed into law you will have no say and many will be out of work because of it, already it has been noted that over 2,000 mechanics will lose their jobs and be out of work with many other trade more than likely facing the same scenario.

    The climate has always changed. It has been much colder and much warmer long before the industrial revolution, but oh we could be so clever to change it!!. It’s to do with the solar system, not us.
    
    However all too often they put pollution in the same sentence as climate change. They have nothing to do with each and yes, we should do something about pollution where it affects our waterways, plastic in the sea etc etc. But climate change won’t help.

      It is worth thinking a bit more widely when considering considering the Climate Commissions report.
      How about the fact that there are 81 cities in the world with greater populations than NZ’s 5,000,000. [eg Tokyo with 37,400,068]
      Can the dire predictions about the results for NZ and EVERYTHING we could do, make the slightest difference!!!

  I wished you would post about something you know about happy chappy and stop being so hysterical. Electric cars have also sorts of mechanical features and little work is done on the engines of the NZ fleet of trucks because of the high mileage produced by the modern engines.

      Electric trucks are a possibility but what about a maize silage gang, a 500hp chopper and 3-4 300 HP tractors working 24,7 during the season stopping only to refuel and change drivers, no time for a battery charge, and the waikato and other parts of the country hare littered with them, same for grain combined in SI.
      Oh I forgot, won’t be any cows to eat the silage, in actual fact if we expect more production from fewer vows there will be a greater need for the likes of supplementary feed with more mavhines

        Heh. That was my experience this past season as I wrote about in Rain and Newton’s Laws:
        
        The energy required to perform all these feats is also incredible; at the end of the day we refill her with hundreds of litres of diesel fuel. I’m sure Elon Musk would welcome the challenge of running this thing on batteries, but they’re going to have to be something much better than lithium-ion. Graphene batteries perhaps, packing up to 1,000Wh per kilogram compared to 180Wh of energy per kilogram for Lithium-ion.
        
        Unfortunately diesel fuel powers in at almost 13,000Wh per kilogram.
        
        As I wrote in that piece, it’s also unfortunate that our education system is increasingly struggling to produce people who understand math and physics, resulting in a population that will swoon over “batteries” as a solution to AGW.

        The problem is that Batteries do not power electric cars. Power stations do.
        
        and the energy store capacity of batteries is woeful compared to liquid and gas fuels.
        
        Most small cars have a tank capacity of about 40litres (31kgs of petrol), in 1994 that 40 litres would allow me to travel about 680kms (at 120kmh) .
        
        A battery alone with that sort of range would likely weigh more than the entire ICE vehicle (1994 Fiat Uno) and it would take considerably longer than 10 mins (with toilet break) to “recharge”.

    Electric vehicles will very likely be the future. What’s more the batteries, if any, will not be the primary power source. They may be used to “condition” the power or as buffer to meet extra demands for hills or towing etc.
    It may be 5 years away.

The aim is not saving the planet, the aim is seriously diminishing everyone’s standard of living, by forcing us into expensive and unreliable power sources, except the mega-wealthy of course.       I understand that in a serious traffic jam or inclement weather (snow) an EV runs out of power quickly, and of course has no Air Con, Wipers or Heater. And nobody can get to you to recharge your batteries. Carry your own diesel generator in the boot perhaps.
      Where in New Zealand are we going to get the electricity from as we have no more electricity anyway and no future production as the report says ?
      One final, remember it is very possible that Shaw will be a very very senior Minister in the Labour/Green Coalition Government and a very powerful voice in promulgated his stupidity.
      Can Ardern pay him and the Green’s policy off – doubtful.

        ummm totally false sorry. They have all those things.
        
        BTW I know 3 couples in Christchurch with EVs. They love them and they are fine for all the running about in town. But they all have kids and they all have large SUVs that they use for road trips.
        
        EVs are great for people who never leave town or who can afford a second petrol car long road trips. This latter group is of course high income families.
        
        For people on average incomes who like to travel, an EV is simply not an attractive proposition. I had a look on Trademe this morning. You can buy a perfectly decent car about 10 years old for $8,000. That is why people are not buying EVs. Simple as that.

        No. It won’t. An EV doing 10,000 km per year (which most of them will do around town max) would pay $14.60 per week in RUC. That is not going to change things much.

        Currently petrol taxes pay for the majority of road construction/maintenance, so EV users are essentially getting a free ride. But that funding model won’t be sustainable once a majority of the fleet consists of EVs.

        My figure of $14 per week for RUC for an EV at 10,000 km per year is based on the RUC that a diesel car pays now if it were driven for 10,000 km per year. Are you saying that diesel cars are currently subsidised?

        Diesel RUCs are charged at the same rate for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes in weight.
        
        Doesn’t matter if you’re driving a Fiat diesel hatchback or a Land Rover Defender. They both pay the same RUCs.

        Benedict – I suspect when Paulus says an EV “of course has no Air Con, Wipers or Heater” he is referring to his earlier statement that “an EV runs out of power quickly” in the cold weather.
        
        In that scenario you may well still be right – they will still have all those things … they just won’t work!

      Kev, make that 20 years. The great swathe of Labour voters will of necessity retain their internal combustions. The rest of us will not happily fork out untold thousands of dollars for an electric vehicle that has parts costing mega bucks, and battery minerals mined under conditions that make caged hens look well cared for. The sight of children slaving away so the virtous can display their new EVs is sickening.

        Fair enough. I expect a rush when the developers release them. There may still be small batteries but even those may not be from mining but possibly created in a “chip factory”.*
        The mining of cobalt by kids does have to stop.
        
        *A California university has recently shown forms of carbon to have random movements and those have been captured as electrical energy. Their vision now is the production of small batteries for instruments using standard integrated circuit chip manufacturing processes. Gang them up, as is a common practice, and do we have a large power unit for the future?

        Teenie tiny amounts of electrical energy.
        
        This is not something that is going to scale up to Watts – let alone the 10s of kW needed to move an EV.
        
        There is a fundamental principle in nature that you can’t suck energy out of nowhere.
        
        Vibration of particles in a material is a function of temperature. The only way to remove energy from particle vibration is to slow those particles down which makes them cooler. To then deliver more energy the particles have to be warmed up again to speed them up again.
        
        No free energy. Sorry.

      Battery powered trucks are quite viable, (even more so if anyone develops battery swapping). Only thing holding them back is expansion of battery production factories (all being used for cars at the moment) Tesla Semi has an 800km range using a 500kWh battery pack and is really fast and efficient up and down hills owing to very high power + braking energy recovery

        So that battery pack will last for an hour or so.
        I assume the battery packs are a shit load cheaper than the Tesla Power Wall’s at $10K for 7kWh?
        
        Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of EV’s but a bit of reality has to set in every now and then.
        Myself, I think PHEV is the next step we should be aiming at, plug in when practical, otherwise use a highly efficient internal combustion engine.

        Long lasting LiPo battery production costs are approaching USD $50/kWh now, they last for many 1000’s of cycles. A 500kWh battery is not going to be a big cost on a truck, and in fact the energy at the wheels is less than ~NZD $0.15-0.20/kWh charging using wholesale electricity and including battery life cost vs $0.30 for diesel engine.
        
        Truck diesel engines have max power of 450-550kW but operate at closer to 100kW on flat road at 90km/hr.

        No urban colonialist batteries are not nearly viable nor do they last a long time on rapid charge. The standard diesel 40 tonner uses about 30 litres/100km. That indicates the average power use is about 200kW. Now to do the 400km trips they do – Think Tauranga to Kaingaroa or Auckland to Rotorua return. That is about 7 hours running so you would need a 2000kWh power pack – Batteries don’t like being below 15% charge and are slow to charge over 80%. The 2000kW/h would be 10t of batteries by itself, probably 15 tonne with all the wiring and coolers. The coolers are essential because there is massive heat. Don’t give us the shit about these new advanced batteries, they are not here and available now. With 10 tonne of running structure, wheels, frames, motors etc, the payload of the truck is down to 15 tonnes. So you need twice as many trucks on the road for the same freight. Many of the trucks do 20 hour days with two drivers.
        When it comes to charging, it is even worse. You have to charge slowly to make the batteries last. Rapid charging kills batteries. They have to be kept cool. With a half charge, it would take 6 hrs at 200kW and need about 20kW of heat dissapated. That is why they need coolers. Now do you know what a 200kW rated extension cord looks like? You couldn’t lift it. Each cable would need its own street sized transformer – 300kVA rating. The truck park would need to be next to a major substation because of the load. You would need two trucks – one on the road, one charging. So that is four times the current number of trucks.
        And I haven’t even addressed the extra power stations needed.
        And you can’t buy a Tesla semi. Still only a fantasy, like the ute he promised.

      Maybe, maybe not Kev. There’s also hydrogen. Which will be cheaper, easier to fill (just a pump at a gas station) and go much, much further. I have a mate in Europe that just go rid of his top of the line Tesla (after 5 years of driving them) because of the difficulty finding charging stations, time spent charging and battery degradation.

        Several development teams see their work providing prime mover power for cars trucks, ships, trains and aircraft. Atomic states of hydrogen seem to be providing opportunities.
        The same sources will likely extend to off-the-grid domestic electricity supply.
        
        This work is sufficiently credible, advanced and visible to those who wish to see. The likelihood of it becoming available should be factored into long term future energy planning. Oil and coal may be left as a chemical industry feedstock resource.

        Hydrogen is cheaper??? How do you figure that out?
        
        Hydrogen can be made by cracking hydrocarbons (wasteful – more energy in just burning the hydrocarbon) or with electrolysis (wasteful – rather just use the electricity).
        
        Hydrogen is a bugger to handle and store too, Unlike LPG, hydrogen needs cryogenic storage to keep it in liquid form. In gas form it does not provide much energy per volume and needs huge pressures (over 3x the pressure in SCUBA tanks).
        
        The only viable storage mechanism are various hydrides and those are far from great.
        
        All these factors make hydrogen a bugger to work with and, therefore, also very expensive.

        Here’s hydrogen at work directly catalysed out of water. It is believed that interactions with plasma changes the state of the hydrogen atom itself, not the molecule, with enormous release of energy.
        Others are working with plasma too on the fist-sized scale.

        Kev: Do you know how much energy is required to maintain a plasma? We’re talking thousands of degrees – huge amounts of energy.
        
        Every time a hydrogen atom escapes water it can only do so by absorbing huge amounts of energy (which is the energy it later releases when it burns).
        
        If this is happening in a plasma, then that energy is extracted from the plasma and more energy needs to be jacked in to restore the plasma.
        
        You can’t turn a blind eye to the laws of physics.

    What do you base this on Brian? The trucks sitting in my workshop all appear to be getting worked on. Modern engines last no longer than previous variants and will generally require more expensive repairs on the way, largely due to the amount of emissions reduction systems they have.
    
    The bay of plenty alone is 30 diesel mechanics short, most workshops are booked out 2-3 weeks in advance. We need to add 1000,s of mechanics, not take them away.
    
    The common thinking is that if all trucks went electric then our workforce would be cut by 2/3rds. All that you will do is cof, suspension and brakes. Basic upkeep on the electric motor.
    
    Fortunately this is still a long way in the future as the range for an electric truck is not more than 200kms yet. Although based on prior performance, the muppets will mandate it and then wonder why it costs so much to truck food around the country…

    Actually the loss of mechanics and some other roles relating to automobiles was part of the reporting on Newstalk ZB. They way they gave the figure I presumed it was one of the estimates from the CCC report itself.
    Will be interesting to confirm, because they mainly glossed over things like cost/impacts to consumer/households in the draft version.
    In any case, can see economic harm in several directions from the main recommendations around gas and dairy.

  There are many things that I find troubling about everything to do with the Climate Commission, but the main ones are
  – The report produced paints a stark picture of our future and appears to take a dogmatic view that the more serious outcomes are the most likely.
  – Then the report produced paints a path that relies on many things working to plan despite being larger in nature than Kiwibuild. When questioned about things not working to plan, those concerns are dismissed. An example is the requirement of new generation to meet the needs to be EV dominant. The answer touted is that industry already have generation planned so it’s not a problem, yet if we can apparently rely on industry to do this, why do we need to be told what to do?
  – The Commission and the various working groups are all comprised of like minded people so in many ways the thinking was predetermined and areas where there may be potential pitfalls to the plan are not seen.

      The draft CCC report already stated the need, in the example of rising power prices if their plans were adopted, for Maori-Pacifica and low income households to be subsidised.
      So there you go comrades – redistribution of wealth by other means. Which is what on some level the whole Climate business seems to be about.

        The report says that “he does not enjoy driving” and his recreation is a walk in Wellington and having one beer. When questioned he could not name a single book or piece of music that he liked.
        
        This is relevant. Someone who “does not enjoy driving” is IMO more likely to dismiss the impact of his policies on average income families who rely on their affordable cars to ferry children around and to go on road trips.

        Re James Shaw. I imagine he would, as a Minister of the Crown want to be able to drive, After all the taxpayer supplies him with a free self drive car. He wouldn’t want to waste that.

      Absolutely. It’s well known that cognitive bias plays a strong part in any pros and cons list with issues around framing, control, and overconfidence. They’re suggested for only the most basic of decision making.
      
      I’m sure the people involved are all well meaning but I also can see that they framed their solution then asked for feedback which really was a request for affirmation and not consultation. Actually, I don’t even believe they asked for feedback.
      
      And it’s the same issue with councils – we’ve got a solution and you can have a 22% rates increase or 15%. Yet again no genuine discussion with the community on the greatest issues, and ranking those by importance and level of community impact. Just the bias’s of councillors, the loudest screamers, and whack-jobs (and yes, that’s the technical term).

      Totally agree and it is what is stopping us from being able to move forward. Were the actions taken in April last year necessary? Border lock down and social policies would have worked but I’m OK with the response then because there was little and mixed info to go on. And it’s in the past so we need to move forward.
      
      But the continued repetition of the fear and crying that the sky is falling makes everyone jump at ghosts. A family member recently didn’t want to meet because I had a work colleague visit from Australia , from an area where there were no outbreaks, and we’d met for lunch.
      
      Yet this same person was quite happy to go to a crowded concert and be in a crowded restaurant where i would argue there was a greater risk of infection spread, but I would also still say a risk so low it is not worth considering.
      
      Ardern and Co. despite all of their rhetoric for being kind and compassionate have created an environment of fear and segregation.

    We all want diversification of our economy, but it is an oft-stated fact that NZ dairy has the lowest carbon footprint dairy worldwide. (50% lower than most).
    I would be thinking we should be increasing production and telling all the climate alarmists overseas to drink NZ milk.
    we have a genuine angle here, since all other milk is doing greater harm to the planet 😉

  The best thing to do would be to let the ETS do its job. There is no need for all this draconian regulation. I would also like to see the details of the Commission’s economic modelling.
  
  As for cars, people will switch to more fuel efficient and electric vehicles as it makes economic sense. 80 percent of car sales in New Zealand are for second hand cars of 20,000 dollars or less. 60 percent are less than 10 000 dollars.
  
  The Commission’s proposals will price some people out of car ownership.
  
  On to unintended consequences. If petrol car imports are banned after 2030 the prices of such cars already here will rise. Simple supply and demand. By 2040 the roads will be full of inefficient 20 and 30 year old cars. Or is the government planning to ban the registration of a petrol car by say 2040? Because that will be the only way to get them off the road. Otherwise I guarantee that many New Zealanders in 2035 will be driving 20 year old corollas. Not EVs. But that will make the government angry.
  
  Interesting anecdote. When Cuba could not import cars, the fleet became frozen as it was in 1959. Well maintained cars that were decades old increased in value considerably. In the early 2000s some limited ownership of residental real estate was allowed. However people quickly realised that it made no sense. It was more profitable to rent your house and invest in cars. True story. Maybe that will be New Zealand after 2035 ?

      And Ardern only cares about the optics of here and now. Evidence of that is the constant drive to control the media. And if she had foresight she wouldn’t have (as the Minister) waitied for child poverty to increase before throwing more money at it. And she would also understand that making a statement and having a frowny face doesn’t fix a problem either.
      
      And in many ways that’s great as it means this is unlikely to go through in any meaningful way and will likely end up in the same basket as the CTG. This would impact the lifestyle of too many people who are influential to the party.

  The government is big on “resets” and grand reform announcements. However they are also big on contradictory policy settings and terrible delivery.
  
  The government wants to “reset” immigration to reduce the reliance on migrant workers in low skill jobs. This is a good idea in principle. However to execute the policy would require other changes, expecially to the welfare system. The government has just increased benefits and has drastically reduced the requirement for the unemployed to show they are seeking work.
  
  There are solutions to these problems but I just cannot see them being executed. So what could happen?
  
  Most likely. Lobbying will result in the changes being diluted or quietly abandoned.
  
  Least likely but possible. The government will press ahead with its reset at pace. The supply of workers will fall. Wages will increase as employers try to attract the scarce competent dairy milkers, vineyard workers etc. This will make internationally tradeable businesses like dairy less competitive. Businesses like restaurants will pass on the cost increases but those that are marginal already will close.
  
  Rationing migrant labour will also see a switch to automation where that is possible. There are big advances coming in horticulture with robotic picking machines.
  
  Essentially the roosters are coming home to roost as New Zealanders say. Yes it is kind of crazy that a majority of petrol stations in the country are staffed by young Indian people. But fixing it will be more difficult than the government believes.

        When I use manned stations – as someone has noted they are increasingly rare – I say very clearly “Pump 7…Just the diesel please”. These poor sods are so programmed that despite my saying “Just the diesel” invariably the next question is “would you like a coffee?” I am progressively less tolerant with such responses

        @BY and DG: the minimum wage workers are just doing what they’re trained to do, which is to push whatever impulse buy the company is promoting. They’re directly rewarded if they achieve a certain number of sales, or if their outlet sells the most in the region, and so on.

        Fuzzy: McDonald is – or at least has been – very litigious….so be very careful what you say about him…For example “two time/double killer” is accurate, and therefore could never found a defamation action; “two time murderer” is incorrect; as someone else upthread has observed, his first killing was “only” manslaughter.
        
        Believe it or not the above distinction is very important; back in the day some KILLER recovered damages from Helen Clark when she incorrectly referred to him as a murderer whereas his crime – or at least what he was convicted of – was manslaughter.

Here is a great example of giving those that condemn others for racism the power to speak for Maori.
Its always others that are at fault when it comes to Maori news or debates and the two Maori Party joint Leaders are the worst at it, so really I am sick to death of these two making racial tones and then making a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to Maori.
Really there is no winners in what these two preech and only one loser and that is Maori the ones that these two believe they are speaking for.

Smith isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, by a long stretch. It cost him a large sum of his own money, it cost him a prosecution, and probably contributed to his first marriage failing, but he went out on a limb for people whom he thought needed someone in their corner fighting for them.

Let’s look at his record. First elected in Tasman in 1990, which he retained in 1993, he then held the new Nelson electorate from 1996 until last October. That’s ten consecutive electorate contests won, a record that no one in the current Parliament can match. His personal popularity was generally higher than National’s.

I’m not his biggest fan, but I admire his determination to serve all the people who put him in Parliament; that’s what electorate MPs’ primary role is. He leaves Parliament under a cloud, thanks to a nonsense Parliamentary Service inquiry that was not requested by either of the people involved, and ought to have been resolved a long time ago. I just hope Speaker Mallard gives Smith the basic courtesy of delivering his valedictory without interruption or rebuke. Thanks for your years of service Nick, and enjoy the return to a life more ordinary!

Smith is leaving because some busybody staff member recorded an argument between Smith and another staffer, without the consent of either, then complained to the Parliamentary Service without consulting either party to the argument.   The mill at Kawerau still makes a particular brand of bog-roll. I saw a sick-making advert yesterday promoting it as clean, green and made locally, employing 1,000s of kiwis etc.
  
  I suggest anyone who thinks making toilet paper is clean and green should go to Kawerau, specifically to have a look at the Tarawera River upstream from the mill (pristine, bubbling and full of big fat trout), then go and look downstream. it’s almost black and stinks, everything in it is dead.

RNZ posts on the wuhan virus lab leak theory coverup. Their low information article involves no facts about the wuhan institute or its safety protocol levels or the other issues that have been raised eg no intermediary host, lack of transparency, the first sick lab workers. Rnz’s article instead involves interviewing Siouxsie wiles who reveals she is also involved in gain of function science in her labs. (Interesting, who funds that?) . But she says the lab leak theory is unlikely but provides no reasoning or analysis. Instead she doubles down on more anti American conspiracy theories to explain away discussions on wuhan institute lab leak discussions. “ Dr Wiles says some governments may be motivated to stoke conspiratorial fires to distract from their own abysmal responses to the pandemic.”

Well, if the virus leaked from the lab, it’s likely that gain of function science would come under serious scrutiny and likely again be banned and defunded this is an interesting take from Wiles.

I was waiting to pick up the car last week. There was a Dominion on the chair beside me –
It reminded me of the old Truth newspaper in size but after a quick thumb through – no News, some sports results, pages of TV programmes, weather predictions, and puzzles – but absolutely no scurrilously entertaining courts reports – I put it down and played a game on my phone.
I’m not surprised that the newsprint business has died.

For papers, websites, radio and tv to use words that by far and away the majority of people don’t understand, don’t want to understand, gets completely in the way of COMMUNICATION. The “guidelines” surrounding the renaming of perfectly comprehensible titles such as the NZ Transport Agency or Child and Youth into an Eastern Polynesian language that less than 5% of the population understands is nothing other than paternalistic wokeness. My solution if receiving any communication that uses these words is to use Google Translate to respond in another language altogether. If they reply and say they don’t understand – maybe they’ve learned a lesson.

      To be fair most Kiwis would know a handful of Maori terms – iwi, hui, whanau, for example. This was one of the justifications the editorial used for their “Kia Ora, Aotearoa” title, that most New Zealanders would understand it. And sure, that’s undoubtedly true.
      
      But there are two flaws with this argument.
      
      Firstly, there are only a handful of Maori words you can say this about. Many inclusions of Maori in English text go far beyond that.
      
      And second, that doesn’t change the fact that inserting Maori into English text is still fundamentally exclusionary. It just alters who the excluded group is. Kiwis are included, but any other English speakers are excluded (unless they are willing to waste their time learning terms from a dead language).

    I learned isiXhosa because I wanted to talk to Xhosa people. (approx 4 million native speakers).
    I learned isiZulu to speak with Zulus. (approx 12 million native speakers).
    I learned Afrikaans to speak to Afrikaners (approx 4 million native speakers).
    
    So why would I want to learn Maori? How many people speak it on a day to day basis?
    
    Until Maori people themselves show some interest and get behind Maori, why should anyone else?

      Blimey it really is getting out of hand. I caught the Tamaki Link bus yesterday. I used to enjoy a quite drive along the waterfront, now every stop is announced first in English and then in Maori. It seems that Maori like to use at least twice as many words as are needed in English. It was a bloody pain. No sooner was one stop announced then the next one was announced. it was just about non stop blah, blah, blah. On the bus there were about half a dozen elderly Europeans, none of who would know or care about Maori language. Just damned annoying.

The Japanese won’t have a battery problem , as now they are exporting electric and hybrid cars with batteries near/the end of their useful life so it will be NZ that has the battery disposal problem.     The Government compulsorily locked down his farm business and slaughtered his animals, there is a Government/Industry agreement to pay compensation for this and I’m paying a levy to partially fund this. Most farming businesses that have hadm.bovis lost out big time. The Government is responsible for border security and this was part of a string of biosecurity failures.
    The current Government funding for flooded areas pays for a handful of administrative staff that help farmers access industry assistance, it’s really a pittance and should maybe better be paid by Industry. It just creates confusion with some farmers thinking there is financial help from the government.

If anyone is interested in the covid-19 vaccination process we went to a get our first shot in Mt Wellington this morning.
We had an appointment for eleven, but that was only a bit of a rough guide. There were a lot of people there & by the time we were out again 90min had gone by.
Several people lined you up, took your temp, gave you forms to fill in, entered the info in a database, and sent you off to a waiting room where we were about 40th in line. Ten minutes later we were at the top of the queue, had our jab and waited 20min before heading off.
I suspect a lot of people had just wandered in off the street. Nobody was turned away.
So there you go. Don’t sit there grizzling – bowl up and try your luck. Pays to be of a certain age.

    As it happens the Health Dept has all that stuff anyway.
    I have the Manage My Health app, which means. I can back check vaccines, prescriptions, tests and other stuff over the last ten years.

  Interested to hear what the warnings were on the consent form and / or were these supplemented in the verbal consent.
  
  Thinking how I have to do both before say doing an epidural… where consent can take sometimes 15-20 minutes when a patient and / or companion / support person / partner have lots of questions…
  
  I assume that agreeing to get an experimental cell modification jab approved only for emergency use and with Medsafe approval still depending on ?59 questions being answered by late July, would have to have a consent form many pages long.
