Covid-19 workers handing out Rapid Antigen Tests the victims of quite unpleasant behavior- Ashley Bloomfield.
Whilst I don’t believe the employees should be receiving this behavior just think of all the fuckups you and Jacinda Ardern our Prime Minister have made and did you rush to put your spoke in saying these people don’t deserve the treatment they are getting -“no” in some cases you tried to push the blame on them for your own incompetence.
You confiscate all the Rapid Antigen Tests that were in New Zealand with all those on order for business and say your the best to distribute it and again you fuck it up with your high and mighty how great you are attitude that has left the majority of New Zealand’s bewildered.

  Human nature. The Government forces us to isolate and test for a virus that is now mild. We are forced to isolate at home for ten days our families with us.
  
  We have to collect a test. But to do it we have to wait in long queues in our car in the heat without a toilet. Then we get to the collection point and we can only obtain a small number of tests.
  
  That happened to me yesterday. Didn’t help that I got lost on the way to the collection centre. When I got there queue was massive and cars were queued down a major road and I was at the wrong end. So when the security crew waved me away I got pissed off and went home. Sent poor hubby out later to another collection venue.

    No2 son has an itchy throat and the sniffles. Still seems ok enough to play on the playstaiton instead of going to school, and no sign so far of zombification or a desire to eat human flesh.
    In any other case, this would be stay home for a couple of days at most then back to school. I assume the other half is queing for RAT tests. I work on the don’t ask, don’t tell principle and no way would I be queing for a test for the sniffles.

  While abuse is not OK, this is going to be the inevitable outcome of an appalling deployment and gross mismanagement.
  
  Jacinda and Ashley are too chickenshit to front for their cockups so people vent to the only people that are available – the workers.
  
  The disastrous handling of RATs has intensified people’s concerns:
  * The lying and flip-flopping on the role of RATs causes confusion which cause stress, fear and anger.
  * The limited numbers available and their late arrival make people worried about whether they will be able to get RATs. Again, fueling the stress, fear and anger.
  * Insufficient locations causing people to queue for up to 3 km in Chch, taking time off work or with upset kids in the car etc – all adding more stress, fear and anger.
  
  Of course this will result in people wanting to express their dissatisfaction. Anyone that can’t understand that is really not qualified for a low-level management position – let alone driving a pandemic “plan”.

  I have noticed the level of service out of government, both local and national, is appalling. This has got worse during Covid. I would say productivity of these workers working from home would be abysmal.
  
  Auckland council has run a massive advertising campaign to try and humanise their staff and lift the behavioural expectations of Joe Public.
  
  This is seldom an issue for private businesses, where poor performance means the end of the business. Ashley, Phil Goff etc need to spend more time fixing the services they provide. I’m not advocating the public mistreat the public service, but the public service needs to actually provide good service.

Julie Burchill, that enfant terrible of journalism in the 80s who has turned into a grande dame, has a good article in Spiked about the Ukranian war. To quote but a section of it

Still only 44, looking like someone employed by a tech company to talk nervous Luddites through changing their passwords, it is brilliant to think that just a few years ago he was playing the part of an absent-minded teacher who is elected president of Ukraine, after an anti-corruption speech is recorded by one of his students and goes viral on the internet. It takes him to power fronting a party called ‘Servant of the People’ – the name of both the TV show and his real-life political party. Zelensky said that he went into politics to restore trust in politicians and that he wanted ‘to bring professional, decent people to power’, which seems a modest request – and a middle finger up to all those Horrified of Hampsteads who recoil from ‘populist’ politicians.”
She hits on a real problem NZ and the rest of the western world has. Professional politicians who have no connection with the people.Those elites move in their own little circles and look down on the hoi polloi as servants and serfs to do what they are told. Woe betide them if they think their own thoughts. The politicians certainly haven’t any. Their actions seem almost solely driven by their monomaniac advisers and opinion polls, then transmitted in virtue signalling performances via a teleprompter.
Unfortunately, there is no equivalent to Zelensky here. Or does it need a real hot war for one, rather than one on pronouns, to come forward?

  I note Putin sent a retired Culture Minister to lead the latest round of talks. Ukriane sent their Defence Minister. Sums up Putins view of a diplomatic settlement. This could all end badly if Putin is defeated on the battlefield and faces a palace revolt. The question is will he go for the Red Button? Hes a nutter and like all nutters when cornered they will seek to take as many with them as possible. That folks has to be the biggest problem the Western Leaders are facing.

  There will always be professional politicians with all the baggage that comes with the job description as long as 50 % are party appointed.
  They are not accountable to voters, and have a job for life working for the party in whatever capacity.
  MMP ensures they don’t have to care what voters do or think.
  This result is made clear with all political parties turning their back on over 30% of NZ supporting the recent protest.
  I also suspect the majority of the protesters did not come from the civil service.
  Those who pay say.

  in NME back in the 1960’s. Her Autobiography is a good read, she leaves nothing to the imagination.
  Ardern & co are paralysed by indecision, they can’t make up their minds on anything, their many slogans like ‘follow the science’ are all about needing
  somebody to tell them what to do. The virus is on the way out and Ardern will be exposed like a rabbit in the headlights.

I have the pox. Super inconvenient as the 10 days home iso will span two weekends…. or more if mrs kk subsequently acquires it. First symptoms 40hrs ago, and these have since eased off. I’ve been using the FLCCC iMASK protocol. Looking forward to lashings of natural immunity quite soon. Also, I do wish I’d kept a record of the KBers who predicted ghastly outcomes because I chose not to get vaxxed. You know who you are. Watch and learn.

    If you’ve had the pox you’ll know exactly what it’s like. For others it might be bit of a mystery. I’m keeping a twice-daily diary of symptoms which you’re welcome to keep an eye on.
    
    No two illnesses will be the same, so your age and general health will mean your symptoms could vary from mine.

  Happy to report that I have tested positive for covid, a very strong indicator apparently.
  
  Symptoms similar to a very light flu.
  
  Mild headache, slight fever, lightly blocked nose, sore throat occasional cough.
  
  Treatment so far panadol and lemon honey tea.
  
  To be fair very disappointing. Normally I would just HTFU and carry on.
  
  Caught it off our fully vaxed and boosted staff, who are having a very hard time with it. They caught it from a fully vaxed customer.
  
  It truly is the pandemic of the vaxed.
  
  Question somebody told me that if you have had covid you are exempt from vaccinations for 6 months.
  
  Does that mean I get my vaccine passport now?

  Good luck! We’re at day 7 since symptoms started, but hosted someone from the camp (who was pretty sick) for a couple of days this week so got another dose I think. Still symptoms & RAT plosive but not “sick” at all. All that panic, for this….

  The symptoms are not as bad as some common colds I have had in the past.
  
  Must be the Vit C, Vit D and Zinc I have been taking.
  
  Speaking of Vit D, Dr John Campbell has a new post on YouTube, reporting an Israeli study about the importance of Vit D levels in preventing serious effects of Covid.

    Zinc – oysters, red meat, poultry, beans, nuts, crab, lobster, whole grains, breakfast cereals, and dairy products.
    
    Vitamin C – citrus fruit, bell peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, white potatoes.
    
    Vitamin D – sunlight, oily fish, red meat, liver, egg yolks.
    
    So fruit, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, meat, fish, eggs, dairy and sunshine. Sounds like a fairly standard healthy lifestyle is the best protection then. Good to know.

    Just re my bug, my wife was feeling yuck, she had to get a test to travel to town for a minor surgery. Negative. Go figure.

    My family is currently infected, the kids are already out the other side and the wife and I are feeling like it is a pretty average flu, stuffy head, drippy nose, congestion a few joint aches but nothing out of the ordinary. We are all jabbed, so I guess this has lessened the effects, definitely not concerning for us at all.

    The media has been quick to publish horror stories of those with Covid who nearly succumbed, although there haven’t been many of those stories. That probably tells us all we need know – that the vast majority of people with Covid recover with no ill effects.

    Have to disagree with you there.
    The media have been publishing stories of what it’s like to have Covid – but only stories that inflame the fear.
    
    All stories tell us how bad Covid is, that “Covid is real” (Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick).
    
    Very few, if any, stories about those who just got on with it and had mild or no symptoms.
    
    There was one such story a while back from Naz Khanjani (NZ ‘Reality’ star) – who was attacked by Dr Michael Baker for spreading ‘misinformation’ about her experience with Covid.
    FFS – it was her experience. But it didn’t fit the narrative.

  Cack throat, a bit achy for 36 hours, not enough to stop me walking 18 holes of golf yesterday, winning the beers and having a few after the game.     Brilliant – no test = no covid. People are taking RATS out of idle curiosity!! Just like the flu: you don’t need a test to drive your decisions. Stay home or don’t based on how you feel and your symptoms.
    
    I propose an alternative plan for covid and RAT tests:
    
    1. Use RATS only to protect the vulnerable. Entry to rest homes, hospitals etc.
    2. Anyone that is hiding under the bed because they define themselves as vulnerable (generally the overweight and unhealthy) and just KNOW if the get the vid it is 100% guaranteed they will DIE gets a bunch of RATS, limits their own interaction with society and makes anyone visiting to take a RAT before they come inside.
    
    Instead the vulnerable and terrified expect the majority to limit their rights and participation in society so they (the minority) can retain full participation in society.

    I am in the same position as you and KK, have a sniffle and sore throat and some aches and tiredness. Well folks we have a real world example of how effective this jab is in my household. Unvaxed husband’s symptoms came on 48 hours before mine. Given we are fairly sure we spent time with the source together the jab bought me 2 days before our illness was exactly the same.
    I have a feeling the more people catch Omicron the worse it will be for our future former PM as we realise how much of a pup we were sold in these jabs.

  He is coughing and has a gastro problem which may, or may not be, associated with the pox. Nothing else. no sniffles or similar.
  His 10 days from symptoms manifesting themselves finishes Sunday. yippee.
  None of the other members of the family who are all vaxed, as is pox ridden youngest, have it according to the rats we have taken.

  Good on you for following the protocol. I have not been able to get all the ingredients, but have been taking zinc and Vit D3 daily.
  As a result, last week, when I felt unusually tired with a stuffy nose, and a strangely metallic and mildly sore throat, I watched for more serious symptoms, and on the 3rd morning I woke feeling slightly shivery. So I stayed in bed, had a big sleep-in, and woke at lunchtime feeling quite better. No fever, no sore throat, or runny nose although I did sound a bit nasal for a day.
  I think I may have had the Omicron version.
  If that’s it, it’s done and dusted. But I’ll keep on with the zinc/VitD3 because I actually feel better, more invigorated. It’ll protect me from Jezebel’s flu over the winter.

  Over here in Europe entire family had the virus and we all recovered quickly. I will not comment on their vaccination status however currently I am vaccinated for everything except I did not want Pfizer in NZ so decided to wait until I had more choice. Novavaxx looks most promising if anything.
  
  Anyhow, young children had slight temp but fully recovetd in 12hrs and 36hrs respectively. I was 2 and half dsys flu symptoms. Tested after first day as positive. Another adult tested positive same day but wasnt sick till one day after test. Another adult wasnt sick but tested positive 3 days after and then was sick for 2 days. We all were fatigued ( adults for upbto 7 days) and all had slighty different symptoms. Some of us fully vaccinated not me but we all experienced the same severity. The eldest not me took a few more days of fatigue.
  
  The care here was exceptional. Test results within 1hr. Three blood tests and a care package handed out anti-virals, vit D , zinc, vit C , paracetomol, even herbal tea.
  
  The doctor I saw just wore a mask. Said best time to get it is now and you should be ok in 3 to 4 days. Otherwise if didnt recover gave number to call.said this was mild variant and would mean at least 6months protection. Then got digitial certificate of positive result and recovery certificate turned green after 7 days sfter test.
  
  This means hete 7months no need for vaccine as natural immunity. 6months for most European countries.
  
  NZ not recognised if you recover.
  
  Next 6mths more travel it looks like. Loving the freedom.

    Your comment indicates that you are unvaxxed for Covid, and yet you recovered after only a slight illness. While this outcome is totally unsurprising and has been known to be the highly probable outcome for some time, your case and all others like it demonstrates that there is no “need” for the vaccine in any event. You weren’t vaccinated, you got Covid and were mildly inconvenienced, and then you recovered. So yes, you have now acquired natural immunity, but you clearly didn’t have any when you contracted Covid. Yet here you are, alive and kicking.
    
    The proposition that “I now have natural immunity, therefore I don’t need a vaccine” seems to miss the obvious implication that you still don’t need the vaccine even if you are unvaxxed and absent any natural immunity. You and hundreds of millions of similar cases prove this.

  Firstly thanks for your efforts over the last two years or so, Good work.
  Regarding the pox: I tested positive Wednesday 23rd and had a couple of days with a snotty nose, bit of a headache, and an annoying cough.
  During that time I took two Paracetemol / Codeine tablets every six hours and by Friday was back at work.
  On the cough front I was annoyed to find that Gees Linctus is now prescription only, and not many pharmacies have it. That stuff is the bomb for a persistant cough but government decree meant I had to make do with some lesser shit.
  At the risk of sounding flippant, I’ve had far worse hangovers – they just didnt go on as long.
  Oh, and I’ve only had the two injections, no booster shot and I’m 62 – you’ll live mate!

    loratadine (claritin) had some positive benefits in studies for use against covid. There was one doctor in SA i saw an interview with who treated 1000’s of patients with it with very positive outcomes.

  Raspy throat, intermittent achy bones, chills and headaches. All very mild. Using same protocol, still walking the hills daily and not bed ridden at all. Will soon have natural immunity and no need to get on the vax hamster wheel.
  Actually feel better than pre infection as any stress about the severity of the disease is now gone. Onwards and upwards.

  I’m on the tail end of the pox. I started seeing symptoms about midday 1st March. Despite how terrible it’s supposed to be, I worked most of the 2nd, only taking a bit of sick time for a late start’ and ending my day a bit early as I was feeling very tiered.
  
  My symptoms – Bit of a runny nose, scratchy throat and mild temperature (37.8) and a mild headache. Certainly nothing to get excited about, and like you KK I’ve had worse colds and flu.
  
  The wife now has it, she’s got the headache and is tiered, and has a bit of a cough, that’s it.

Wellington City Council over egging the cost of restoring the areas surrounding the parliamentary precinct. They talk of graffiti cleaning, but neglect to mention that much if not all of it was that waxy chalk stuff that restaurant boards use, not indelible inks or paints. Some grass seed needs to be sown – Parks & Gardens staff do that all the time. Nature does the heavy lifting.

But, wait for Council staff to hold unnecessary and overpopulated meetings, all of whom will charge their time against the “project”. In my experience, as much time & as many costs as possible will be dumped here, thereby inflating the bill which will then be used to beat up on the protesters & thereby distract from the protest issue, ie the unjust mandate.

The plan by the government and activists to dismember Auckland City rolls on.
While the Labour government plans to steal water assets worth $billions via Three Waters are still alive another initiative is underway to steal the regional parks and Hauraki Gulf and hand control to Maori.
The Hauraki Gulf Forum, an advisory body run on cogovernance lines with local iwi and council reps, has voted to apply to the government to become a statutory management body over the Hauraki Gulf. One of its major recommendations has been to have iwi running the Gulf.
At the same time activists are pushing to have this body take over control of the bulk of Auckland land based regional parks.

  They’ve had 2 large covid grants for around 200 million (which is on top of the government covid funding which also includes maori by default).
  
  I saw a recent story where maori are being given 140 million (or was it 400?), for business development.
  
  Then, just around my area, maori want greerton racetrack under some treaty obligation, they’ve been given Mt Maunganui , they get called in for council ceremonies all the time. It is just a tsunami of government cash going towards maori.
  
  Then, there are the non-financial benefits, such as special entry into high demand university course. I suppose those could be quantified too though.

Have a family member in hospital. Quite ill (not covid).

As of today, you can no longer visit patients in any of wellingtons hospitals.

To dangerous they say. No option for proof of a negative test.

Yet another barbaric decision that negatively impacts on the lives of people in this country.

Given those muppets cant even distribute patients medications correctly during the day and sometimes miss them all together, plus the quality of the food, taking away peoples visitors who are actually helping by bringing in decent food and entertainment is going to cause lives to be lost.

Dont even get me started on the quality of the nurses. Maybe 1 in 4 are decent. Most hardly speak English and dont appear to give a shit. I’m guessing anyone decent has gone to private or Australia. Dont blame them.

They all say they are so busy because of covid patients. Yea na. There are only 12 in hospital in Wellington. Empty beds everywhere. I spoke to one of the docs about it. He said that the covid patients are either old or major other issues so when they test positive they just admit them to keep an eye on them for a night or two…

  Even after the recent pay rises for nurses, it is abysmal money for what is now a four year degree I think. A nurse can forget about buying a house or raising a family.
  
  It is not just the pay either, working conditions are terrible, due to understaffing. Understaffing could easily manifest as “dont appear to give a shit”. I was in a private hospital for some minor surgery a while back, the Filipino nurses were quite awesome.
  
  And, think about the poor nurses in rest homes/elderly care, their pay is almost minimum wage, and, rest homes/villages are even more understaffed than hospitals.

A momentous milestone was brought up yesterday.

Since 16 August 2021, 139,163 people have caught Covid (among those eligible to be vaccinated). The Health Ministry says that 125,386 of them are fully vaccinated. That represents 90.1% of all cases, the first time that 90% has been reached. We officially have a pandemic of the vaccinated.

Despite the burgeoning numbers of fully vaccinated people catching the virus, MSD wants to lay off at least 220 staff who have chosen not to be vaccinated. What madness. The real problem is vaccinated people contracting the virus and passing it to other vaccinated people.   Gorse has been a canopy for regenerating native forest on Banks Peninsula. There are plenty of exotic trees that are great. Hagley Park in Christchurch is marvellous.
  
  I believethat some native-tree fanatics even wanted to rip out the weeping willows on the Avon and replace them with flax. The willows have great story or myth: that they descend from cuttings brought from the grave on St Helena of Napoleon, reputedly taken by French and German settlers bound for Akaroa.

Outrage at a group of locals camping a democratic protest. Toilet blocks erected. Y’know, just like any of the big food and musical events in many of our parks with toilet blocks erected by city council; lots of rubbish to clean up afterward; lots of noise and traffic inconvenience for locals.

Let them have their say and ‘love in.’ Hopefully we’re big enough in Chch to let diverse opinions use public places to make a point. Isn’t that one of the reasons we have such spaces? The police will manage any illegality. In the meantime, it’s a late summer festival, let’s not over react.

Cranmer Sq is named after an Anglican martyr who stood up to authority to make a point.

In the first, chum, parliament belongs to all of us. And secondly, take a look in the mirror. Your people come from Taranaki – the clue’s in the name. Perhaps you should pack up & head back to your tribal land.

    The court case NZTSOS (teachers, also doctors) is under way. Pretty obvious the employers will be pausing on the sackings at least until the result of the case is known. Small numbers in each group but the cost ramifications will not be small if multiple PGs follow.
    
    And multiple class actions to follow.

I took a bit of time to watch the C Baker and other video of the Pillage of the Village .

There’s a big contrast in wot the media Pardy present as “violence” , “pitched battles” etc by the protesters ( note they are all lumped into that collective) and the actual footage , as there is too from the official govt narrative , world leading , proud of the result , well done to all concerned .

We were treated also by the msm to a victory tour of the battlefield where Ardern and her close associates review their sacred recovered ground .

Scenes of the rubbish , and that too is a big media pardy theme , but have they ever done constant stories of the filth left over from the drug parties , sorry music concerts, they so relentlessly promote ?

stuff have done a piece on Inside the Protest .They talk of a senior sgt forcing them to delete a photo of the police preparing their dawn raid . He’s not identified and very little is made in the article of such officious , heavy handed and possibly unlawful police intimidation of the fourth estate .

That contrasts them showing close up video of an early morning male who interfered with a police car’s tyre . Good work there stuff . Will look forward to similar unpixxelated pics of gangsters etc at their mass gatherings etc

That also contrasts with their not showing extensive footage of the arsonists and others who look like they turned up in the afternoon , and who appear to be under some sort of direction by other fat thugs .Now this is a big issue and is very obvious from Chantelles’ video ,

there was definitlely a small but hard core group of thugs among the protesters and that needs investigating . It looks too as if they could be part of the thugs who stayed around later chucking cobbles at the Cops . Who are they , what were they doing there , when did they turn up.

Big story there , msm , but dare they go there ?

Much easier to villify the whole movement . Unfairly.

Another aspect of the stuff and official version of the Cops not using unnessary force .

One cop gives an old bloke a one two punch to the head , he then collapses . Yes the old boy did barge a cop first , but that cop was using his shield to strike a woman protester who was already on the ground and it could be said the old boy was trying to protect said young woman from excess force exercised by Cop. After all the MSM turned everyone who questioned the police behaviour at the arrest of Fentanyl Floyd into a hero , why the double standards?

The court cases are going to be very interesting.

Oh dear.

It seems like rates of death for people with Omicron are lower than the rates of death for the public at large.

Correlation doesn’t mean causation – if it did, the government would want to roll out this plague to everyone, as a public healthy measure!

Questions need to be asked about the past two years. We closed our borders for the entire time. We had months of the most fierce lockdowns in the world, and amongst the most restrictive rules in the world.

“Deadly delta” seemed about as deadly as the annual flu to me. 500 per year die with the flu per year. Omicron seems more like the common cold. Did we really burn our economy to the ground for this?

I think that what we need now is honesty. Will the media, the politicians and most importantly the people now admit that we got our Covid response all wrong?

I would like to ask people who supported all the nonsense over the past two years – do you still believe that it was all justified? Or would you do it differently next time?

I suppose people will point to the high number of people overseas who died with Covid. It now seems very clear that these average 85 year olds, with 3-4 comorbidities, typically died with rather than from Covid.

Was the NZ response proportionate to the risk? Or has it all been in essence a huge hoax?

What will we do if a new Covid variant comes along, with omicron transmissibility and delta strength? Will we be back in lockdown? Will the borders be shut again for a couple of years? If not, why not?

Headline says 200 staff to be sacked in Ministry of Social Development. This is both crazy and utterly immoral. It makes me sick. Surely the court would side with people who resist employers forcing them to be vaccinated.

  On the other hand, perhaps it is a realisation that the Labour Party government cannot sustain their public service make work schemes and are using the virus as a convenient out.
  Many government departments have employed more and more people on large salaries who are achieving less and less.
  We see it here in the provinces where a certain Ministry now has resident “advisors” whose job seems to be attending sector meetings and presumably reporting back to someone in an office.
  The young woman here says very little at the meetings and we have to wonder what the point of her presence is.
  I suspect it is mainly to assess the levels of opposition to Labour Party policies and check out and note the protesters amongst us.

  Every government department and ministry, and half the ministries themselves, are full of dead wood and cruisers, and a wholesale clean-out is long overdue. So on that point alone I support MSD shedding 200 employees, I’d call it a restrained but promising start.
  
  However, it’s clear they’re sacking the wrong 200 people and should instead start at the top. Preferably the very top.

  Just read the article. The headline was very misleading to help government save face. It says “M of SocialDevelopment staff refuse vaccination, set to lose jobs.”
  
  But the actual article says , “It is considering advice from crown Law and the Public service commission on the ruling which said the Governments vaccine mandates were an unjustified incursion on the bill of rights.”
  
  The Headline should have said, ” Unvxed MSD staff termination meetings postponed, as Govt forced to rethink illegal mandates, after losing in court”
  
  The article continues with it’s misinformation claiming three times that the vaccine stops spread and transmission., saying “vaccination was the primary way MSD could protect its people and the community from spread….”
  Staff were informed MSD required to take all reasonable practicable steps to minimise risk of harm…”including its transmission in the workplace” Next paragraph it says again they were told it was required to reduce transmission to wider community and clients.
  
  Only at the very bottom of the article does the employment lawyer weigh in and say that Omicron environment is different and businesses will have to be more circumspect around what is reasonable.

I was fortunate to be introduced to the comedy/philosophy of George Carlin some years back – never knew it would be so relevant now. He had a mantra: QUESTION EVERYTHING. He would also talk about big business/corporations owning everything with his famous quote: ‘It’s a BIG club, and YOU ain’t in it’.
Personally I am fed up and angry about it all, to the point where it’s almost preferable to simply not deal with the world – i.e. shut up ‘shop’ completely and stay away. As it is I have a Zoom music entertainment session with a retirement care home this morning as they are being strict with having visitors onsite (whether jabbed or not); I do miss proper live entertainment interaction however.
Anyway, just to prove that I am no one trick pony I have put out another song about all this: https://youtu.be/E-xSkOyVKBI It starts off slow but there is a message in it. I am not interested in promoting myself, I am just happy if these words at least reach a few extra people.
By the way, I went for a ride through Auckland Domain the other night and spotted around 15 tents/50 people set up there; they had a sign up in support of the Wellington protest. Security and cones were at most entrances in order to limit visitors.

Our democracy is so sacred to Ardern that’s why she kept He Puapua from the public, is handing over our water to unelected Maori-led corporations (sometimes referred to as Iwi), and giving a Maori Health Authority veto power over decisions made by Health NZ.

I see Stuff has a report on how a reporter ‘got inside’ the protest. It includes a photo of a protester letting the air out of the tyres of a police car.
What the report doesn’t say is that Stuff reported this as ‘Police car tyres slashed’.

  Plus lots and lots of pictures of the flat tyres, which well, looked flat, as in the air was let out, with no sign of any “slashing” (eg no cuts, gashes or bits of rubber out of place).
  
  (Note: I’m not condoning this, it was unnecessary – I’m simply pointing out the “disinformation” campaign being used by the authorities and the uncritical media reporting repeating and amplifying this “disinformation”).

Kapiti would be reimbursed $24m for infrastructure conservatively valued at $584 million, once this is taken under control of the new water services supplier.
Reimbursement in two parts, half of which is to be raised by a new rate on the residents.
Since 2011, DIA’s ownership of our public water is protected by a requirement in our standing orders to have “any decision” guided by a full public referendum.

Per the NZ Herald – Police Minister Poto Williams says while police staff have done an “extraordinary job” in relation to controlling the protest in Wellington, there is still a big piece of work needed to bring under control those who felt aggrieved with the Government. Not sure if they are her words or the Herald’s but note the phrase “bring under control”. All about control with this Government.

One of my tennis besties is a REA. She was telling me this morning that in the last few weeks there’s been a number of newcomers to the residential investment market that paid silly money last year in the hope of making a quick buck. One client sold 3 properties at auction recently….lost nearly a mill!!
Now may have to sell his own home as the Bank no longer happy to keep funding.
As my partner alway says….never arrive late to a party, the best Champagne will already be gone.

Shipping refined products individually has its own risks namely Quality. Its extremely likely you will get very poor quality or condemned product and not meet quality assurance. Say for Av Gas. Turn around times and resupply will pose a serious risk for the airline industry due to possible resupply times ( Costs) etc.
My understanding Marsden Pt refines to a very good standard.
Any way food for thought! ( No fertiliser products either and will need shipped).

Ukraine also produces about 1/3 of the worlds wheat, 1/5 of the corn, place is basically the worlds largest cropping farm, Russia also exports Wheat etc. Its not just going to be oil. Is that just a less sinister name for what used to be called rubber bullets? (I’ve tried googling that question, but nothing conclusive.)

Property market slipping even in China

China’s property development business is under pressure.

The Wall Street Journal reports China’s top 100 developers’ monthly contracted sales volume fell for the eighth straight month in February, plunging 47 per cent from a year earlier.

Many of the developers use capital bonds raised overseas in US dollars. Since the beginning of 2021, Chinese developers have defaulted on $US8.8 billion of offshore dollar bonds and on the equivalent of $US5.1 billion of onshore yuan-denominated bonds, according to Fitch Ratings.

Unlike bouncebacks in previous years, says the Wall Street Journal, none of the 42 Asia or China high-yield bond funds tracked by Morningstar had positive returns in the past three months, and virtually all of them have been down in the past year.

“Covid death in the Bay” The article itself tells a slightly different story, and reports that the unfortunate gentleman who passed away “died in a Bay of Plenty rest home, of an unrelated condition, while receiving palliative care.”

And they wonder why they’re so despised….

  yup, Herald reported 5 dead today with covid (slightly above 3-4 you would expect to die in a random sample of 150-200k NZers on a normal day even if they were uninfected), but all suffering from major unrelated medical problems.
  
  UK excess deaths have been substantially less than normal since mid January, but that was when their Omicron peak was!! (through to early Feb) Pretty clear conclusion that Omicron isn’t actually resulting in added deaths (the Delta it displaced was though)
  
  Omicron almost never kills healthy people. Will be really interesting to look at excess death figures from Australia for last three months when they get around to publishing them. I expect omicron may turn out to be basically invisible (just shifting deaths from ‘natural’ causes to omicron).

Heard the finance guy on ZB earlier …..reckoned the government wouldn’t have any idea about the number of rental properties in the country, how many so called Property Managers were out there, or the number of rentals that meet ‘The Healthy Hoes’ regulations. Maintained if you chose say a hundred rentals in South Aucland at random, NOT ONE would meet the criteria.

At least Cindy showed real concern about the Slide.

  He seems to think the government (taxpayers) should know exactly how many rentals meet the Healthy Homes (Rentals only) standards, how many HH assessors there are and how many are any good, how many landlords there are, how many property managers there are. And oh noes, landlords have to keep evidence and the government should keep it all as well (implied) or at least be checking up.
  
  He thinks it a no brainer that there should be a rental WOF, register of landlords, same for property managers.
  
  IOW big expensive government, more expensive rentals. Probably fewer rentals.
  
  Last 3 months Trademe properties for sale up 23%. For rent up 0.5%. The market is not working for renters, I wonder why.
  
  Meanwhile the cub reporter might have opinions coloured by applying for 70 rentals this year, viewing 13, situation ‘dire’. Why he thinks it will get better with oodles more regulation and bureaucrasy, who knows.

A patient passed away at Waikato Hospital yesterday. The person died of an unrelated medical condition and had tested positive for COVID-19.

A person in Dunedin who died of an unrelated medical condition yesterday while receiving palliative care and had tested positive for COVID-19

Two patients who passed away with COVID-19 in Middlemore Hospital, on 1 March and 27 February. Both people had unrelated medical conditions and had tested positive for COVID-19.

    So Batman, how do you get three deaths from five that all died with unrelated conditions?
    
    When I read westernScientists post and the same info in the Herald it is clear to me all five deaths are from unrelated medical conditions.
    
    The Herald was “Covid 19 Omicron outbreak: 22,535 new cases, five deaths across New Zealand”
    
    Clearly MSM tabloid style click bait heading.
    
    The real heading should be “5 people who died in NZ today also had an unrelated respiratory illness.”
    
    OR better still “NZ Herald plumbs new lows in journalistic standards — fools Batman.”

The people are in denial.

It is hard to admit that you have been subject to a huge hoax – and fell for it for two long years!

Here’s the facts. The Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) for the flu is 1 /1000. Experts say 500k have Omicron. You do the maths.

Fear mongering and mass hysteria led 90% of people to lose all rationality.

Poor CAKE was imprisoned in his house for months, even though I did nothing wrong. It was Kafkaesque.

Historians will look back on these times and say – what the hell were those people thinking about? It is so surreal as to be virtually unbelievable, like waking up from a bad dream.

Yet it did happen. Closed borders, lockdowns, school closures, and a variety of other quite absurd restrictions, based on “The Science”.

Have you been the victim of a cruel hoax?

How many deaths has New Zealand had so far FROM Covid?

* Please note – the question asks FROM Covid, not WITH Covid!

The official number who died WITH Covid is 56. This included the gang member shot in his driveway, who tested positive to Rona after dying of lead poisoning.

Virtually all the remaining dead were in palliative care / dementia wards etc, where their life expectancy was likely to be months at the most.

Overseas, over 90% of Covid deaths have been reclassified as dying WITH Covid, rather than FROM Covid. On average, people who die WITH Covid have over three co-morbidities.

From the information we have been provided, the actual deaths FROM Covid in New Zealand is almost certainly less than ten so far.

We will never be given the information, but New Zealand has probably about 5 – 6 deaths FROM Covid alone, to date.

Was it all worth it?

  Maggie, Youtube has many accounts of Jimmy Savile’s sickening behaviour over a period of many decades. The ability of the upper echelons of society to turn a blind eye to obvious horrible behaviour was because Savile was ultra famous. Retired coppers have even suggested Savile may have been involved in the Yorkshire Ripper cases. I just wonder if the Oz police have all those responsible or just ones easily caught.

How silly that Chemists aren’t designed for drive through click and collect. Chemist Warehouse you can pick up your prescription at the back of the store. RAT test click and pick up in store in the mall. Hello. What about a drive through window? Low tech thinking to stop disease spread.

I remember when

Covid story:
Older person, single, has a rather large couch delivered by local delivery firm.
Doors in house open to allow a swift turn-a-round.
Truck eventually arrives with couch and two delivery staff.
Person starts to explain where it is to go –
“No, we can’t do that we have to leave it on the lawn, company rules.”
Person, “What would you do if it was raining?”
“Our company rules are that we have to leave it on the lawn.”
At this stage there is a massive volcanic expulsion from the place the older person is standing.
Couch quickly taken to required spot and delivery men depart.

It probably has more urgency than child poverty, Auckland light rail, blaming social media for the violence of the protests outside Parliament, or saving us all from covid – still to be seen.
