Safe and Effective?

(I feel the need to preface this post: I am not anti-vaccine, I’ve had more vaccines than most people in my lifetime, and I’ve had the mandated 2 shots of Comirnaty).

The NZ Government’s parroted narrative (relating to Pfizer Comirnaty) saying ‘the vaccine is safe and effective’ is becoming ever more questionable as international data continues to indicate dubious effectiveness for most cohorts, but more concerning, an unprecedented number of serious vaccine harm injuries is gathering pace.

Here’s a link to one recent UK news report interviewing an ex-NHS pathologist in discussing the German Government’s own Health Ministry study on covid vaccine serious harms.

This short 7 minute interview should be of interest to 95% of Kiwis, particularly the young fit and healthy who are considering getting multiple boosters, and also those who have healthy children and grandchildren.

Considering the reporting an Adverse Event Following Immunisation is not a MoH mandated requirement in NZ, it’s somewhat alarming that NZ data is similar if arguably much worse than the German Government’s own findings.

To break it down Medsafe received 1 AEFI report for every 175 doses. Furthermore Medsafe accepts that 1 in 3225 doses is further reclassified as an AESI or Adverse Event of Special Interest ( i.e. also referred to as SERIOUS on Medsafe’s website).

Here is Medsafe’s own data (link supplied below) states:
Comirnaty: Up to 30 June 2022 a total of 11,133,437 doses of Comirnaty have been administered and 62,937 (Adverse Event Following Immunisation) AEFIs were reported. This means that more than 11.07 million doses of Comirnaty were administered that did not result in a report of an adverse event. On average for every 10,000 people who are vaccinated 57 people report an AEFI. It is also important to keep in mind that a report can be submitted for any cause and is not necessarily associated with the vaccine.

      The leaders in Sweden quickly figured out what to do. There were no mask mandates, nationwide lockdowns, school closures, etc. The Swedish government made suggestions on how to to limit spread but did not force these on their citizens.
      
      The Swedish population statistically did no better or worse in the end but limited damage their economy and didn’t instill fear into the population to the same extent as many countries.

      Perhaps adhered to existing pandemic preparedness response policy – along the lines of The Great Barrington Declaration. Simple really.
      We knew from the Diamond Princess analysis that Covid-19 was no spanish flu, rather a (manufactured, thanks Fauci) bad flu season and we should have treated it as such.

      Paulus, the NZ Gov initial border lockdown was a prudent precaution based upon our geographic location. However ever since that moment NZ bought valuable time to analyse the diverse data streams from all over the world in order to measure effectiveness of quite different measures.
      
      However that time seems to have been truly squandered time and again, even down to the Omicron/RAT debacle, and now much emerging evidence that the vaccine is not effective, wears off after 1-3 months and so offers an unreasonable risk/benefit profile for many (fit healthy and younger) cohorts.
      
      KK is right, the government is just doubling down to spin its way out of this situation. By example our much maligned unvaccinated doctors and nurses should get their jobs back (with an apology).

      Paulus – we had a pandemic preparedness plan in place for many years, as almost all western countries did. We had ours since 2002. It was updated in 2017. It was abandoned in late 2019. Nobody knows why.

      There is absolutely no mention of “lockdown” anywhere. For obvious reasons, they don’t work. And until this circus began they had never been recommended. In fact the WHO recommended against them initially.
      
      It recommends staying home when you’re ill. (Duh) and protecting the most vulnerable.
      Protecting the most vulnerable doesn’t mean taking the elderly and sticking them all in the same building. There is only ever going to be one outcome of that.
      It recommends avoiding large crowds if possible.
      
      Nowhere does it recommend shutting down the whole country and destroying the economy, businesses and lives. The only time it mentions masks is in the healthcare sector and it is recommendations, not mandates.
      
      They are all common sense measures that most of us do instinctively during flu season.
      
      NOWHERE is there any mention of changing the law, forcing social distancing, forcing people to vaccinate, forcing people to wear masks.

        I am a simple soul:
        
        1. If masks were an effective barrier/protection against viral infections why haven’t health proffessionals been wearing them (at least over the flu season) forever?
        
        2. If vaccinations were able to be developed so rapidly against a coronavirus what have the vaccine developers been doing for the last few decades?
        
        3. If we don’t need 3-5 years of testing to gain comfort on the safety of new medication developed why have we previously taken this time?
        
        4. Why are we not setting out to gather the requisite information on vaccine side effects? I have personally witnessed a reaction and its aftermath and it was apparent that a decision has been taken by the medical fraternity not to gather any data/information that might build our knowledge.
        
        5. Why did we bet everything on a prevention rather than investing in treatment and cure? This is an irrational, high risk approach to a problem. Options always have value.

There are direct quotes from German citizens who lived through the holocaust, in un-knowing obedience to government dictates. It is quite a long read, and it made me sad.     krazy: I’m sure you’ve heard the one about when it is a choice between conspiracy or a cock up, the latter is almost always the explanation.
    
    Maybe I am being too kind, but I think they have all been “bumbling along” since the beginning…the best example is Bloomfield originally saying “Wear a mask if you want to; it won’t do much good” which soon morphed into “masks save lives”
    
    Remember the “deep cleans” supposedly undertaken in the early stages when a contact had been at a supermarket? And theories about transmitting it on lift buttons…then they decided it wasn’t transmitted by touch at all.
    
    They have literally been making it up as they go along – which I wouldn’t mind so much if they said “we got X wrong…after further study, our advice now is…”

      …But instead they never once said ”we got that wrong”…remember how long it took to get them to classify deaths as WITH Covid rather than of it? And how long it took to release age data, which pretty much confirms that if you are an old fat bastard with emphysema or diabetes you’ve got a problem – but if you are a well 12 year old with no other conditions the vaccine is more of a risk than the disease.

        I propose though that a third explanation is currently an alternative possibility and is becoming a more probable explanation as time goes by.
        
        What if it was planned incompetence?
        
        A psychological experiment as such.
        
        What if already bumbling non-critical leaders were bribed, cajoled, coerced or simply led by panic , fear, fomo and followed the latest current thing?
        
        Incompetence follows and yet we are human, people err and yet the big picture things have a globalist planned stench about it.

        The govt were faced with some equivocal info, and in almost all cases adopted the interpretation/policy that would best suit their political agendas – keep them in the limelight, maintain appearance that they were maximally concerned about the Current Thing™. Covid political monomania, where no cost was too high to save a life from covid, but all downsides of policies in form of health, psychological, social, economic, human rights and other costs were ignored by (typically intellectually superficial) govt.         The main reasons we know it has been a malicious coordinated conspiracy and not an accidental “cock-up” is the myopic, near-universal strategy that has been unwavering despite all accumulated evidence showing that it was the wrong strategy, as well as the outright hostility towards anyone who went off script: censoring dissenting views that were later proven and admitted to be correct; demonisation, ostracism and scapegoating of non-compliance, particularly re: vaccination. It has been a totalising, authoritarian psychological campaign with no room whatsoever for divergent behaviours or viewpoints. In other words, the very definition of unscientific.
        
        However, on the alternative, less-troubling hypothesis that Covid has instead been an unprecedented global-scale cock-up by our leaders and their “experts,” then this entails that we have no reason at all to ever accept and act upon the advice of these “experts” ever again, because they are wholly without credibility.
        
        Regardless and fundamentally, whichever alternative interpretation we prefer (i.e. official malice or official incompetence), either option at once discredits anyone who has ever formulated, promulgated or accepted the official proclamations or predictions.

      Understood David, personally I accept the truth is somewhere in between.
      
      However in the absence of good old critical thinking and independent investigative journalism, I hasten to point out that we can’t overlook the fact that NZ Government followed the WHO dogma, and that UN derived organisation receives significant annual funding from pro vaccine foundations and corporations.
      
      As does the CDC and FDA etc

      DG – I hope you are right, but I don’t think so. I’ve posted a couple of times that Ardern is a UN/WEF shill and she is more interested in doing what they want than what is best for NZ.
      She may not fully understand what she was doing, but as you point out, at some point it was clear that it was wrong. Not only will she not admit it and apologise, she is doubling down. That is malfeasance.
      Don’t start me on the “experts”. They don’t have the excuse of being stupid.

      David – Bloomfield’s comment about learning as we go along is particularly galling. That is exactly why there are well thought out pandemic plans. Every single recommendation they made that does not fit in with those plans has been ineffective or worse.

        Claims of a “single source of truth” cannot logically coexist with concessions of “learning as well go along,” because the latter is to accept fallibility, whereas the former allows no room for error. If you set yourself up as omniscient, then anything less destroys credibility. Learning as we go and acting in good faith (while entertaining conflicting viewpoints) is the essence of science, whereas single sources of truth are dogmatic totalitarianism.

    Neither myself nor my teenager were given any information or asked to sign anything when getting the jabs, In fact I should have been turned down based on my questions and statement I was only there because I was coerced.
    I am too old to have any more kids but I do worry every day what I allowed my child to do and could it impact on her fertility?
    To say I am angry with this government/public “health” department is an understatement.

      The negative impacts, though substantial relative to other medical risks still favour you and your daughter being fine. But you should never have been put at this increased level of risk.

Mrs kk and I have recently arrived in the UK. The Emirates mask theatre was pretty much a non-event, and over three sectors only once was I reminded of the ‘Wear your mask to protect everyone from the plague’ policy. Even then the staff member was apologetic, “just doing what the airline requires”, and couldn’t wait until she no longer forced to wear masks. Which I learned was 100% of the time when on crew rest, ie away from the public.

I have not arrived or departed via Gatwick for over two decades and I can confirm that precisely nothing has been done to the airport facilities in the intervening years. It feels 3rd world, but our luggage miraculously appeared so the chaos, biohazard toilets and pay-to-use luggage trolleys were quickly forgotten.

After 3 days about in east London I have seen ZERO persons wearing a mask. These face diapers, the medically unsupported symbols of fear are nowhere to be seen. Good job. New Zealand will get there eventually. The sooner the better.

The other experience I had today was a routine one: going supermarket shopping. What a surprise. Almost everything is routinely cheaper here than New Zealand, with some items close to half the NZ equivalent prices. Some examples: 1kg tasty cheese $NZ11.50. For two litres of milk, the median price is $NZ4.10. Large punnet of blueberries $NZ3.20, and this is all year round. We loaded up two bags with fruit, vegetables and other consumables and paid $NZ65. This was a chain supermarket. Produce is cheaper still at the weekend markets.

For our daughter and son-in-law (both corporate lawyers) this relatively low cost of groceries looked to be getting momentarily cheaper after Ardern sent them an email promising to gift them some ‘cost of living’ money. Lovely, but neither of them will be accepting this generous offer, one paid for (but not made by) taxpayers back home who are struggling to pay for food, rent and fuel.

Oh, and the freshly minted grandson is pretty cute too. He smiles more at mrs kk than he does at me, but he’ll come around in time 🙂

        Given the state of all those institutions you would think there would be stories 24-7 highlighting their perilous state. You would also think that those great investigative journalists Gower, Campbell and Gilles would be doing exposes and deep dives into it but no they aren’t.

        I note you have refined the criteria a bit and yes I’d be inclined to agree. But I still do see the regular journos doing stories on it. Just today, Dileepa Fonseka has a piece on housing that is not exactly holding back

      Government ramped up psych attacks – schools recommended to wear masks for first 4 weeks of term 3. Kids being mind controlled while most adults over the circus but too gutless to stand up for the truely vulnerable- their kids.
      
      It will end but not soon enough as the circus master isn’t wanting the show to end. Still high percentages wearing in Auckland supermarkets. Many on here voicing opposition but when I am out and about it’s the minority going mask less. Come on NZ grow a pair!

      At the last Auckland mayoral election only 35% of those eligible bothered to vote. Phil Goff won 49% of votes caste.
      Back in the good old days before ACT fucked things up I would have lived in Manukau City, which has little in common with whatever North Harbour was called.
      So the mayor of the whole area seems to be determined by what the voters down this way think, which is not the future of Queen St.

Rodney took a hospital pass – which included pushing that idea through – when he became Minister of Local Government… I remember him almost tearing his hair out during that process…and everyone forgets that initially, elimination of replication of roles across the supercity meant that 8,000 fewer bureaucrats were employed…but like rust, bureaucracy never sleeps, and within a few years they were all back – and more IIRC

There’s a few issues here, the first of which is accuracy. Stuff revealed yesterday that the Cost of Living payment went to 780,000 fewer people than had been forecast. That figure of course includes thousands of people who were not entitled to receive it. So Salmond’s begging letter is premised on an untruth.

Secondly, did Labour think of the optics of this? On Monday, the taxpayer gave over a million Kiwis $116, to help them cope with the cost of living crisis. Then on Tuesday, the Labour Party asks people to give up to 20% of what they received back to the Labour Party, seemingly forgetting the source of the money, the long-suffering taxpayer. Even Bishop Tamaki only demands 10% in tithes from his flock!

But the burning question of the day is this one; will Rob Salmond accept donations from people with Chinese-sounding surnames?

      If there is a great con in the public sector than commercially sensitive, I’ve yet to hear of it. It’s used to hide all sorts of dubious transactions. In my view, if a private company bids for council / government work, it should be fully transparent.
      
      When i ran construction tenders overseas, standard practice was to let the competing parties know the winning bid – even went as far sometimes as to release all a table showing tender sums and tenderers (order mixed up). View was it was truly open, it let everyone know where they stood (and could improve performance next time), and removed any hint of dubious practice. Favourites still sometimes got the jobs but it was a hell of a lot more competitive than here!
      
      In my opinion, local government / central government could be significantly improved by removing commercially sensitive and closed session meetings.
      
      Would have thought that should be a breeze for ‘the most transparent gubermint eva’!

        Commercially sensitive – my arse! If it didn’t go to open tender, it can’t be commercially sensitive. IMO, there are a number of makers of commercials, infomercials, training media, and promotion materials in NZ who would have bid for the contract had it been released for open tender.
        If the contract was sole-sourced, the taxpayer has a right to know how their taxes have been spent or otherwise.
        The manner in which this contract was issued can only lead to taxpayers’ accusations of cronyism, rather like Mahuta Corp.

      I was talking to the bloke who owns a local shop and he said someone ran a car into a bollard in the front of shop next to his & all it did was bent it a little.
      The tried again at another shop along the road with the same result.
      One would think an owner would bung reliable bollards in front of their shop. Unfortunately council bylaws etc often prohibit them.

        I suspect that there are bollards just for show and genuine security bollards. The ones that pop up out of the ground – like the ones outside parliament – are immensely strong. There is a video of one being tested by a fully loaded truck hitting it at speed. It tears the truck in half. And afterwards still works perfectly.

Just a question for house owners all over the country, how will they react when the rates go up like is happening in our largest City.
How can the rate increase be justified in Auckland with some owners having to $100.00 without water rates, especially when we a just hearing house values.around the Country have had there sharpest drop in 14 years.
Thank christ I don’t live in Auckland as those with large mortgages will obviously be under all sorts of pressure with inflation also set to increase for there house mortgages.

    Rates are a function of spending.
    
    Your property value solely determines what slice you pay i.e. what proportion.
    
    For example only, if your property was 1% of all property values in a rating area, then you’d pay 1% of the rates required.

    Not really. The way it works it that Council decides how much money it wants to spend, then uses the property values to spread the charges among the rate payers. Property owners have to pay, but can only charge the rent the market will pay, so many voters are disconnected from the costs of their choices.
    
    Looking back, what we should have done when GST came in was to allocate a portion to the local Council. That would have tied the money available to spend to the economic prosperity of their community. And they shouldn’t have been given “general competence”.

  The Councils have taken advantage of surging house prices – property owners didn’t like to complain about the massive rates increases because who cares about a thousand dollars or so more per annum in rates when my house is going up 100 thousand in capital value.
  I expect the noise to increase in a falling property market, especially from those whose property has been over valued in the latest valuation round and the relative increase in rates is up to 45%. I am unimpressed with 15%.

  The dudges need to feel what it is like to be seriously assaulted, and terrorised, and then have someone else breezily pardon the offence in effect.
  It should be a requirement of employment that each Dudge gets a few good smacks in the face with a 4×2″ board annually, and when their broken facial bones have healed, then they can resume their position. Then, they might just understand the plight of victims a bit more.

  KO should be burned to the ground – it’s failed, riddled with debt that most Kiwi’s don’t even know about and completely fails on every metric.
  
  Both being in Christchurch and knowing some of the fine folks in KO, you probably know as well as I do some of the astronomical salaries some of the staff now earn. Front liners tend to get shafted but the back office idiots with fancy job titles are doing very well.
  
  Heard from one of my mates in Auckland (used to report to me) who is a solid guy but would genuinely struggle to get around $100k in the private sector. Solid, reliable but not brilliant and in no way unique. After them buggering up his restructure he’s now getting $220k a year, backdated, along with a huge amount of others. Huge number of average idiots now earning north of $200k, lots on $300k-$400k and so on.
  
  But hey, inflation is all overseas related and they obviously deserve it – KO is in such fine shape, they should be getting more really. And yes, sarcasm in case it wasn’t obvious!

  FFS. That is a stupid policy. I can’t be bothered looking up the data. I don’t need to. Funding allocated to public health increased year on year under the last National Government at a rate exceeding the CPI. There is no need to make such a ‘promise’.
  
  I am starting to wonder how smart this guy is. Sure he was CE of Air New Zealand. A small airline with significant monopoly power in a small country. In contrast, John Key was head of international financial trading in one of the largest global financial institutions. It is a totally different league.

    While I’m no fan of Luxon mainly because he perfectly reflects the modern Blairite Third Wayism of the National Party, you can’t necessarily judge a man by his statements alone, as here we have Key in 2007 before he became PM, succinctly and quite correctly outlining the problem regards unaffordable housing being destructive of a stable middle class and identifying the then obvious pressures building in the economy:

  One theory doesn’t have to be boring or spicy.
  
  Wet markets were always a risk for viruses to jump to humans, and noted pre-covid in academia. Also that bats, being mobile and yet dense colonies were a likely species; hence were being looked at for study.
  Yet I have seen sober MSM articles tracking the US$ into the Wuhan labs, and working on gain of function programmes that their own government was not entirely comfortable with, to see that there was the means and the possibility that the lab may be the point of origin.
  After all, the Wuhan market people getting sick early on was one thing, but no trace of Covid-19 was found in the market itself, even though genetic material can be detected on frozen peas these days.
  So rather than ‘Gotcha’, when there is no final answer – be able to entertain two theories at once.
  I have warmed to the lab escape idea more in 2022 from what I have read: there was some very good investigative journalism in Aussie media even naming and providing the background of some very ambitious and manipulative characters on the American side. I can well entertain human stupidity played a part. The lab theory does not have to mean conspiracy.

And why is that? Because for many parents when they now hear the phrase “vaccinate your child” they switch off. Why could that be?

Sadly I commented here that this would be the outcome from nagging parents to give the COVID vaccine to their young children. They have just switched off from ‘vaccines’.

So parents are now afraid of giving their kids an effective vaccine (i.e one that works) with a 50 year track record. It will take years to repair the damage.

I have got to the stage where if the Government announces a ‘policy’ to fix any problem, I assume that it is the exact opposite of what would be effective. And I am usually correct in my assumption.

Another misleading article from the Herald….and another day ending in Y.

Brian Tamaki is planning another protest.

“Counter protest organiser Mark Graham said it was a spur of the moment decision to show up and “save the nation’s democracy”.

But that’s all they say about Mark Graham. Who is he. A google search show’s he’s an ex sports diver, a spinoff guest writer, and a political candidate for Auckland, Albert-Eden-Puketapapa Ward. Very misleading for the Herald not to mention that he is a politician prior to an election and simply calling him an activist. His political candidate page is active and he has posted this article and others recently, so it appears he is still an active candidate in the upcoming local elections.

Mark’s grievances…”The coalition and Brian Tamaki are not calling for freedom and rights, they want things to be done the way they want. That’s just selfish.” (Not exactly a clear statement of any issue or Tamakis position.)

“”He (Tamaki) is throwing a tantrum because he is not getting what he wants. This is not democratic.” (Actually it’s not a tantrum, it is a planned peaceful protest which is an extremely democratic way to raise issues and concerns and protected in our bill of rights.)

“Graham said their group was building in numbers since last night’s decision to head to Auckland Domain on Saturday.
(Who is “Their Group” ?)

“”We hope more people will show up to save our nation’s democracy.” (This appears to be the herald calling for a counter protest. But ok. Should be interesting. )

“Newmarket Business Association chief executive Mark Knoff-Thomas said it hoped the protesters would respect the business owners’ right to trade.”

(Nobody stopped Newmarket business trading. The people of Newmarket decided to close their shops due to their own stereotyping of the people marching. There is no evidence that shows the marchers caused any problems at any shop.)

It would appear that the Government has decided that Three Waters is the ditch they are prepared to die in. Thank goodness we now have Assisted Dying legislation, which might help to put the Government out of its misery.

For Maggy – Stuff’s food editor attempts an apology, of sorts.

She puts her ignorance all down to her upbringing which doesn’t explain, of course, why she couldn’t have done the tiniest bit of research before bursting into print mocking a part of our food heritage and one imposed because of war rationing.

I notice too this apology has come at lightning speed – a speed I’ve never seen from a Stuff writer or editor before.

She must have received a right bollocking over the last 24 hours.

Clearly has no idea that a mayonnaise is an emulsion..
hence the condensed milk/vinegar/mustard mix could never be called a mayonnaise.

The poor child needed to attend a few basic cooking classes before attempting to masquerade as a Food Editor.
